Is it just me, or is there a good percentage of hardcore wrestling fans on this board that for some reason feel it be good for almost any Marvel hero to be portrayed by one of their idols?

I get that these guys mean a lot to some of you, and I'll even acknowledge it as sports... entertainment, yet even if some can act the part of the loudmouth, I have never witnessed any that could convey any real dimension of emotion... Simply said they suck as actors.

They are the hollywood counterparts to the dumb bimbos put in films for their t&a qualities.

wwe has its own stupid movie studio thing, let them make their crap movies, with their crap acting, and crap directing, and leave them there.

You wanna know why that nash guy was good as the Russian in Punisher? Because he didn't open his mouth. Roles like that be the exception to the rule, that and maybe if they did Hulk Ferrigno style, have a bulky wrestler play the part.

Hasn't there already been enough Marvel flops? Do we really need to guarantee failure of a potentially "epic" movie by casting an ugly steroid pumped baboon as lead actor?

Unless someone can come up with a real suggestion and the proof, I'll say: NO WRESTLERS DAMMIT! :cmad:
Who knows... maybe there's some unknown WWF-beef out there with a hidden thespian inside of him, but I really doubt it.

And I dont want no kids or pretty-boys either.

A beefed up Kevin Mckidd would be  with me.

Marvel flops? Every marvel movie except for Elektra made a profit. I don't know what "flops" you're talking about.

Flop in terms of quality is what I meant, thanks for pointing out my misuse of the language, but in any case, there has been a high percentage of complete crap Marvel movies, and tell you what, put a wrestler as the main actor in one, and you'll have another steamer for the outhouse.

Hmmm... if it were up to me I'd cast someone with stature, maturity, regalness and handsome rugged looks, but also somewhat scandinavian and gruffy neanderthal-looking.

A golden middleway between these guys, me thinks...

Brendan Gleeson (to the right, and his sidekick could make an interesting Loki)

and

Josh Holloway

Hmmm, Holloway sorta looks like a Vladimir Kulich-lightweight.

Triple H is perfect for Thor, right build, height, handsome, great actor, and he'd kick ass throughout the movie

Movies needs actors, if you get someone like this kind of guys, what you are going to get is a low quality film

Ahhah, okay I take that back, he does look young enough. But imo he wouldn't be very convincing as Thor. He's acting as Achilles in Troy wasn't the best he's ever done and that role might be closest to what Thor might be on film.

Troy was not a good film, so I can`t not request to anyone there to make a great job, he doit well under the posibilities he have.

Hey, lets cast anyone with long hair and a beard who isn't a wrestler.:whatever:

NO
I still like Matthew G taylor for the older Thor, BUT they're looking for a yonger Thor 19-20.

Sam Heughan is an another actor who, like Cavill, screen tested for the role of Superman and could be a not so bad Thor.
He's 6ft2.

I can see him as a young Thor, He could work!
With Matthew G Taylor as the older Thor

to quote mr macmahon"no chance in hell"

An unknown actor. Who, would be made to train for a few good months to get his body right. I don't want wrestlers or beefcake dudes of the month. I want a solid actor.

I want a good actor...but kind of would like someone not completely unknown. This is a big franchise, and names would help.

Though, if you could find a 6'3"+ Norwegian stage actor, and get him pumping iron, I'd be all for it. Odin and Loki provide ample opportunity for big names to be cast.

Triple H would be a terrible Thor. Brad Pitt's about 8 inches too short to be Thor. Sean Bean/ Viggo Mortenson are too old. I just don't like Karl Urban in the role.

Maybe the unknown route would work best.

DUDE! Gleeson would make a perfect Volstagg!

Yeah, yeah, he's big, he's strong and he's blond. I get it. Great. Can he act?

I'd rather have a great actor who looks nothing like Thor than a talentless hack who happens to be big, strong and blond.

true... outside of the first two Spider-Man and first two X-Men movies, marvel films have been largely ****. Occasionally they make an average movie...occasionally.

That being said, MARVEL hasn't made movies yet. They've had their characters liscensed. At this point, MARVEL will be in the driver's seat.
I'm stoked.
