So this guy in all likelyhood is our Thor, eh?

Well, can't say that I'm not dissappointed that Skars apparently didnt get the gig but if he does get cast, as a fan of Thor, Hemsworth's gonna get my full support.
I hadn't seen a picture of Hemsworth with his hair like this. It helps with visualizing him as Thor, as opposed to my previous exposure to him (i.e., Star Trek, where he was more Captain America-ish than Thor).

Wow, that pic really resembles Thor's look, IMO. Well, whati mean is, he looks like Thor, as I have said.

Here's one with longer hair and a beard should they choose to give Thor one in the movie :)

I think this guy is perfect for Thor and if he is indeed cast I look forward to seeing him in the role!

Another former Aussie Neighbours and Home and Away actor gets a superhero movie. Heath Ledger (Joker) and Julian Mcmahon (Dr Doom) where on Home and Away too.

Why are we still using this thread? We have a Hemsworth is Thor thread, and it has been confirmed by Variety.

I see. Thanks for the info. But I won't be checking out Home and Away anytime soon! :D

I'd say the thread should stick around until Variety's "in final negotiations" becomes an official announcement from Marvel themselves that Chris Hemsworth is playing Thor. I'd say it's now 99% certain Hemsworth is playing Thor, but you never know what can happen.

They probably won't go with beardage, since this is supposed to be a young Thor. Beards tend to make people look older.

But Hemsworth definitely has a good look for Thor. Grow his hair out a bit more, like down to his shoulders all the way around, and he's set.

This is all well and good but the most pressing question is who's going to play Hemdal???!?!?!?

I always thought one of the big bodybuilders rumored to play Thor should be cast as Heimdall. Maybe that James Preston Rogers guy, since he seems so gung-ho about being in the movie. Heimdall's not as strong as Thor, but he's often portrayed as larger than Thor.

I'd imagine Heimdall will be played by someone a little older, since in the first draft at least, he is Sif's father.

Really? He's supposed to be her brother, but at least they kept the familial connection intact.

Fantastico! Surely they will give a back story for Loki as well.

I love how they added to it recently. Helping make himself who he is by traveling back in time to talk to himself as a child. Brilliant! The circle goes round and round.
