I'm going with Ralph Moeller for Heimdall.
Dolph Lundgren for Heimdall.
Lundgren in a Branagh movie, that would be fun.

Aw, hell yes!!!!!

-Now I'm embarrassed - as a quasi-fanatical Dolph-o-phile, I'm quite ashamed that I suggested Moeller; Dolph didnt even occur to me.

I agree and hope that it happens, and hey if Reynolds can be Hannibal King, Deadpool, and Hal Jordan then Dwayne Johnson can be Black Adam and Lobo ;)

It'd certainly be cool - considering if this film had been made in the late 80's/early 90's, let's face it, Dolph wouldve probably been in with a shout of the main role (Punisher aside).

The Expendables is about to return him mainstream too.

I gotta say... He would have been one of, if not thee, top choice for Thor... had this movie come out 15-20 years ago. But then again... the FX would have been a notch down... so it is what it is.

I am all for him in a supporting role like Heimdall

^ Well... most of the movies he did at the outset of his career were tough-guy schticks (He-man, Rocky IV, Punisher, Red Scorpion). Not really great roles... But I think that he actually did pretty good in Universal Soldier. It was a weak film, but I was somewhat surprised by his performance. He had a lot more dialogue, and was pretty colorful in his delivery.

I have no idea what he has really been up to over the last decade or so... but I think it would be pretty interesting casting to get him as Heimdall (Dolph is also a Swede... so there is that).

Corp, track down a movie called 'Pentathlon'.

If you ever want to see Lundgren in a different light, that's the movie to do it. He thesps rather well in that one - granted, he's no Olivier by any means, but that movie may change some perceptions that you have of him.

In Favs' new interview on the main page, he mentions being excited about not only the actors that have already been hired for Thor, but by those they are considering hiring for additional roles (though he says he couldn't share who)

Kind of off topic, but last night I watched the 5th episode of this season of True Blood, in which they showed the origins of Eric Northman. There you can see Alexander Skarsgaard playing a viking, and it's impossible not to think of what could have been if he got to play the Thor role... :csad:

I hear that;

Oh well - time to move on and see what Hemsworth can bring to the table.

He wouldn't be bad. But I would have liked him as Black Adam.

Yeah, same here - now there was a part perfect for him.

This is from 2007, so I have no idea where it's gone from there: http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/11/02/shazam-the-rock-is-black-adam/

I never understood ALL of the hate against The Rock as an actor. He's not completely terrible. I think a superhero film where he could play an over-the-top villain would have been perfect for him.

I've found he works a lot better as a comedic actor than an action star, personally.

the action star thing is done with in Hollywood since the 80s. That's the problem. When you have a good actor like Matt Damon doing both dramas and action, there's no need for a guy like The Rock anymore :(

He could still be in Thor. Are there any other gods Skarsgaard can play?

I could see him as Balder, but he seems kinda big for Fandral. Tall that is.

Yeah, but his screen presence fits Fandral nicely... Now that I think about it, he could be Thor's grandpa in a flashback.
