Wow KS did you see you just made the 11,000TH post!
Geez wonder if we're going to be one of the threads closed and If I should start a new one?

So wait help, howcome JMS isn't on Thor anymore? Is he going to finish his storyline or not?

His storyline apparently wraps up with Thoe Defining Moments Special, which was supposed to come out after Thor #603. But it would seem that the delays have got so ridiculous that they're just moving on with the series, and will get back to JMS' final bow when it's finally ready.

When did #602 come out, again? The year 1993? I feels like it's been forever.

June. 2 bloody months ago. And we'll be getting #603 in September (hopefully) and #604 in November. But hopefully the new team can pump 'em out quicker starting in November, effectively beginning Thor's 'new monthly' series in earnest 2 and a half years after it actually started.

THOR #604
Written by KIERON GILLEN
Pencils & Cover by BILLY TAN
Gatefold Variant Cover by OLIVIER COIPEL

Has Doctor Doom crossed a line…? And what role did Loki play in Doom's sinister plans? What did Loki know…and when…? Now, as Thor heads to Latveria to settle the score, only one thing can happen: Thor sitting Doom down and having a serious chat about their feelings. By which we mean, STATE-OF-THE-ART SLEDGHAMMER SKY-SCRAPING SUIT-SMASHING SUPERHEROICS!

Billy Tan (NEW AVENGERS) draws the action-packed escapades while Kieron Gillen (NEW UNIVERSAL: 1959, DARK REIGN: ARES, Phonogram) starts his six issue run. Hold onto your runestones, True Believers – things get hectic quick!

Action? In a Thor comic? That can't be right!

I actually think it would rock if he really did just sit down and talk to him.

Debate action!

But I mean Thor style. Have all that, "I'ma kick your ass if you don't agree to my terms." presence.

Of course, we can have him written like how he was in the Avengers, all brawn, no brain. That'd make for satisfying reading on some level.

I would dislike that, especially since Thor is back to his classic power level and probably doesn't have the brawn to back himself up.

I wonder if they'll remember that Doom really, really doesn't like Thor because of Heroes Reborn: The Return.

Not much. He's been so wildly inconsistent in power for like forever. It doesn't help that the streak of badassitude he's had since his return was recently broken by spending most of his big 'starring role' in the Free Comic Book Day Avengers issue unconscious after Ymir kicked his ass like a gnat and losing whatever he had left of the Odinpower a little later in his own comic. At this point, the only things you can really count on are that he'll pretty much always lose to the Hulk and the Juggernaut.

You asked for it... *Start fanboy/girl rant*

Hulk/Juggernaut would beat him anyway.

But from what I've caught up on, he wasn't doing exceedingly well during SI, or really much of anywhere.

I like Thor and I am always rooting for him when it comes to Hulk. The Juggernaut on the other hand I have always had a soft spot for and love when he gets a good solid win.

Exactly. I'm sick of seeing Thor portrayed like a *****.

I was actually sorta confused by Thor in SI, I figured with the Odinforce, he'd be going like, "Doo whacka doo whacka doo" with a smile on his face as literally thousands of Skrulls turned to green sludge around him.

Apparently Odin was a little less than cosmic?

But agreed. Thor was meant to be like, "THE MAN," and I happen to enjoy it when they portray him as such.

You know what's worse? I dun hurd rumors he's joining an Avengers team, which means Bendis will get his claws into him, and we know how Bendis likes to depower his big guns.

That's true. And will they remember that Doom got a powerup at the end of Millar/Hitch's run last month? He spent thousands of years at the side of the Marquis and now he seems to be on par with the High Evolutionary.

Who knows if that will stick?
