I know i'm gonna get blasted for this, but I kinda dug the celestial baby eater theory from the Earth X series. Keep their population down.

I liked that aspect too, gave galactus a real purpose and made sense why we have so many superhumans here.

How about a place in this forum to post some cool Thor pics? Is there a way to place a pic in your post in this forum?

We post cool Thor pics here all the time. Look back through the thread. As for how to, you need to save the pic to your computer, upload it to a free photo sharing site like photobucket or imageshack and then place the image link they provide you with in your post.

Or you could just go to the Post your favorite Thor pics thread over in the Thor movie forums. It used to be here, but some mod who shall remain nameless moved it over there for the movie posers. Still, I posted stuff in there, so it's awesome despite the fact that it's not here in the Marvel forums. :o

Another month of solicits, another month where JMS' Thor "monthly" doesn't even show up. But at least we get this:

THOR ANNUAL #1

Pencils by MICO SUAYAN & CLAY MANN
Cover by MARKO DJURDJEVIC
The mighty Thor has been exiled from Asgard. Without his allies at his side, the wounded and isolated God of Thunder discovers that time does not heal all wounds...especially when it’s the Egyptian pantheon bearing the grudge!! Seth! Grog! Don’t miss this action-packed, Midgard-shattering annual! All this and a reprint of Journey Into Mystery #83 remastered with modern coloring!
48 PGS./New & Reprint/Rated T+ ...$3.99

Mico Suayan on art for the annual? Purchased.

Anyone else getting the feeling of getting ripped off these days?
I mean BRB Godhunter was pretty cool, BUT, the reprint of 337 looked like it was a cheap comic that was a give-a-way with an action figure and NOW they REUSE a cover on the annual.

Oh. Maybe the concept came from there and Abraxas as a character came from Claremont's FF run.

I thought the Abraxas story was by the writer who took over after Claremont. For some reason I'm thinking Pacheco was writing as well as drawing, but that could be fuzzy memory :).

Tales of Asgard #2 rocked. I STILL can't get over this book. lol

please Marvel, continue it with new stories!

Yeah, they're a nice gesture the first month or two but now I just wish Marvel would take whatever resources go into them and just find an artist to rotate with Coipel on the main series.

Me too. At this point I'm finding it difficult to appreciate them because I'm bored of waiting for the main story to continue.

Yeah, as much as I love JMS' Thor, two issues in five months (at least) is an embarassment. It's starting to reach ridiculous Legion of Three Worlds levels. If its JMS who's to blame, and not his artists, then as much as I love his writing, they may need to find a replacement before long.

I still don't mind the lack of a timely main book as long as we get all the extras.
Trial of Thor was pretty cool tho the story seemed to end pretty quickly. It seemed rushed at the end.
Tho I can SEE a use of Trial in the Current JMS storyline.

There's a chance he may be leaving the book on his own.

Wouldn't surprise me. The guy's terrible at finishing what he starts, as The Twelve and Supreme Power can attest. Let me guess: a big film/TV property came up and he's devoting more time to that.

Anyway, Trial of Thor was decent. I'm getting a little tired of this idea that everyone in Asgard was a complete f***ing bastard in the past, though. The idea that Thor was such a bastard that he warranted banishing while the rest of Asgard didn't starts looking suspect the more they persist with this interpretation of the Asgardians.

Well at least Marvel's keeping the way the Asgardian old way of acting in past stories and not Lee/Kirby or present day.
I think it's just one way of showing the Asgardian's changed with time as Earth changed, basically reflecting their worshipers.

But there's no reason for them to reflect their worshipers. Their worshipers don't determine who they are. That's for the DC universe's gods and Alex Ross' cockamamie ideas.

I don't know about DC's god's. Haven't collected a DC since Bruce's back was broke.
I'm just saying with Each Ragnarok the more civil both the gods and earth got.
I'm not saying a LIKED the way Odin had acted in Trial, personally I would think Bor should act that way. Odin should be more calm even when it comes to Others accusing Thor of something.

I agree. I tried to understand where Odin was coming from and excuse his behavior away, but man, he's just too much of a jerk. I mean, he threatens to kill the Warriors Three just for doing what he told them to do! That can't be the wisdom he went through all those trials for at work. :o

heh THAT'S my BABY BOY!!! I've spent a MILLENIUM crafting him!!! DON'T tell me I F***ED up again! lol

just a quick aside, I believe that Thor himself has stated that the Asgardians do not seek worshipers, implying that they are essentially an independent entity, and not representative thereof.

So they might change with the times, but not to reflect their worshipers.

T

I recall him saying that too, but, with this new run Blake has brought a point up that does make sense in ways where it's up to MORTAL's to decide the gods live. I personally think that if there people out in the world just casually thinking about the gods they remain anchored in reality. Reed, Skrull/Hank, and Stark helped with that by MAKING Clor. lol
