I'm not defending it. I'm just calling it like I see. Have you ever been in a octagon? Go and try and cut someone off when they are running away from you. Let's see how you do at cutting that someone off.

In a boxing ring, you can cut your opponent off pretty good, but in a octagon, it's a little harder to do. Especially when your opponent is running away from you.

If you can't cut someone off in the octagon why was Nick's corner screaming at him to do it????

Many of those guys have trained with Diaz, are friends, or as some have suggested have a bias because they are Strikeforce and/or California fighters. Plenty of other fighters have stated that they thought that Condit rightfully won. Most MMA websites scored it for Condit as well.

Different people see different fights, you can't dismiss their opinion just because they might have trained with Diaz at one point or are his friends within the industry. Anyone saying that the likes of Dan Henderson & whatnot saying Diaz won simply because they both have recently returned to the UFC from Strikeforce is someone clutching at straws to try & dismiss their opinion as irrelevant.

To me it looks like there are as many popular blogs/websites & as many MMA fans/fighters saying Diaz won as Condit won. I couldn't care less, even though I've criticised Condit, I still think he just about did enough to beat Diaz. My criticism is with how he looked in the cage & how he approached the fight.

and thats means what? because it was live action lol

do tweets not count as opinions now?
lol No. I'm saying these are definitely coming from the source. No chance of some idiot loser posing as them, like they could on a social network

I'm cool with a rematch, I'd like to see Diaz drop the trash talking and slap boxing crap and just listen to his corner.

condit really picked the best thing to do he had 3 options :

a) stay on shelf for 9 months which is never a good thing for an elite fighter , you need to stay as active as you can

b)fight Sanchez/Ellenberger winner which wont get him big money or ppv buys due to them not being as big of names

c)fight diaz in a rematch tons of people want that will get tons of buzz and interest and likely more money and shut diaz fans up in the process.

"the rumor is true. Carlos did accept the fight today and Carlos is coming on Friday not thur." -Dana White, confirms rumors of a second meeting between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit.
via Bloody Elbow

So the rematch is on! Let's see if Diaz can follow a gameplan this time.

I wonder why the UFC is setting up a rematch. Hmm.... :p

Carlos is the one that wanted a rematch. It's not like that happened before. When a popular fighter complains a lot Dana caves in and gets his way, but it looks like Carlos is the one that got pissed and wanted to shut people up.

Be careful what you wish for. The rematch will probably look like Edgar vs. Penn 2. One fighter improved greatly while the other stayed the same and just expected the decision to go his way the second time.

Hey, I just want a definite win. If Diaz was the one that ran away with the decision, I'd be here wanting a rematch for Condit. If Condit knocks him out, GOOD! I don't care either way. I just want these two beasts to rip eachother apart.

It doesn't matter who wins, either way, GSP gets the win.

EDIT: Well it looks like the rematch isn't happening now. Oh well.

A rematch between the 2 doesn't interest me at this juncture, I think even if Condit fights the way he has done in the rest of his career he'll still beat Diaz.. infact I'd say he'd have a good chance of putting him away one way or another. This time the rematch better not be a headline fight, co-main event will do just fine incase it turns into another greyhound & the rabbit matchup.

Biggest story is that Dana agreed/got them to do a rematch, I think he wants more from both fighters, I saw an interview with him on MMAFighting I believe & he didn't seem that thrilled with how the fight went down.. probably because they invested alot of time hyping the fight up what with Primetime & all only for it to do to a 5 round decision with a guy that was billed as a 'Natural Born Killer'/KO specialist & a brawler.

“@ufc: Ignore the noise. One welterweight match we can confirm: Diego Sanchez v Jake Ellenberger next Wed on FUEL. Get psyched for that, for real!”

This should be good.

Latest report from MMA Junkie.com is that the fight is now not happening per Cesar Gracie.

There are rumors from the UG that an "issue arose" in Nick Diaz's camp last night. Whatever that is.

Dana didn't sound upset with the fight at all at press conference. I was there.

I was at the fight live and I thought it was a great technical fight. Condit did attack Diaz. I'm sick of the lack of respect and trash Condit is getting over his performance. He fought a great fight.

i want a rematch if you look at fight metric leg kicks is what won him the fight he did throw 68 of them because the stats says diaz out struck him with head and body punches and of course won the grappling aspect

diaz needs to use his grappling and wrestling more

only 3 TD attempts in 25 minutes is pathetic

I'll take Ellenberger by decision.

I might have read too much into it, maybe he was just tired or was sick of answering questions but he just didn't seem as enthusiastic with how the fight played out compared to how he believed it might have played out beforehand.

I've already said all I need to say about Condit's performance, it's not that I've a problem with stick & move or gameplan tactics, it was how he looked doing it.

Not at all. He didn't look or sound that way to me. He came out saying he thought Condit won and he even joked around with a reporter that sounded butt hurt about Diaz losing the decision.

I don't want to debate Condit's performance. But I will say this. For a long time, I've had a problem with the way both Diaz's don't seem to ever want to check leg kicks and just put their hands down and chin out. It was going to cost them sooner or later.

If Nick feels unjustified, he should move up a weight class and fight Anderson Silva. The middleweight division is depleted. Diaz should have a title shot in just two victories.

Let's see what he does against Belfort first. I dare Nick to fight Vitor 'The Diaz Way'. Let's see how long he lasts...

I could have told them Nick Diaz is an occassional marijuana user without the test..

Weed should be legal. I don't have sympathy for Nick for at least not cycling it since he knows the rules because he got busted for it before. Still, from a morality standpoint weed isn't that bad. I doubt him smoking gives him this big advantage unless it makes his chin super strong.

Morally, I have no problem with him smoking weed, he can do it all day & all night if he wants. It's not a performance enhancing drug in the slightest... or if there is something benefitial from smoking weed in terms of his performance I can't think of it.. I doubt Diaz would have the brains for that either, my guess is he just gets stoned with his buddies.

Blah blah blah, save the pot debate for community.

It's against the rules. Just remember guys, even certain substances that are perfectly legal are still banned from being used in MMA competition. Like certain medicine like say MARIJUANA which Diaz is licensed to grow and take apparently.

The point is that the athletic commission that Diaz agreed to be licensed and follow the rules under says its not allowed. They say that the THC acts as a pain killer and muscle relaxant and fighters are not allowed to take it or have it in their system for a fight.

Stop defending Diaz. This is on him because he's so much a mess that can't act like an adult where his career is concerned.

Eww, who are you again? lol we can talk about whatever we want kid.

Can you quote anyone defending Diaz? No? That's what I thought.
