^The guy who got knocked out trains with WillardNation. I was rooting for Martinez because of that, but damn what a KO!

Martinez can take a punch but he was way out of shape for that fight.

What the ****?

That's pretty much Palhares for ya. When he faces adversity or the fight doesn't go his way he mentally quits.

Palhares didn't even want to fight anymore after he felt Lombard's power.

If I were Lombard, I'd drop down to Welterweight. All that muscle mass is going to hinder him in the long run.

Ugh. It's disappointing to see Hector become so one dimensional. He use to incorporate Judo throws and sweeps into his Boxing. Lombard even had world class submissions (I still remember that insane flying heel hook from Pride). Nowadays, he strictly uses his left hook to end fights.

*shrugs*

Oh well.

Nelson vs Mitrione
Smith vs Ricci
Barry vs Del Rosario

How I think it will go tonight.

Barry's losing streak and chin makes me second guess it though.

I was hoping to see a nice judo vs. BJJ battle between the two, but Palhares had no clue what to do when he was hurt. He went for a takedown once, but didn't really put much into it. I was hoping he'd at least dive for a leg to see a good grappling battle, but he didn't want it anymore after he got tagged. lol

Lombard should go back to his grappling if he ever fights Bisping. Sure he could get the KO, but Bisping's style isn't really good considering how much smaller Lombard is than Bisping. If he mixed it up a bit he'd be more dangerous at middleweight because there are a lot of strikers in his way to a title much taller with decent enough distance strikes.

Melvin Guillard/Jamie Varner pulled from UFC Ultimate fighter 16 finale today since Varner was sick or some nonsense.

They are going to try to re-schedule it to UFC 155.

That Sambo guy has some of the most vicious suplexes I've ever seen

I was hoping for that too. Who doesn't appreciate a good ol' Judo vs BJJ grappling match? Unfortunately Palhares pulled out as soon as he got decked by Lombard.

Hector was an animal with his Judo. I don't know why he would distance himself from that aspect of the fight game. His sweeps were lightning fast and the ground-and-pound that ensued was devastating. Lombard should really reconsider bringing back those skills into a fight again. An Olympic caliber Judoka almost always is able to takedown a great wrestler at will.

Sambo? That guy wasn't using sambo. He was making trips to the good ole U.S of A to learn those suplexes. Woo!!!

Nick Diaz has actually got a shot at GSP next, really? No seriously.. really?

Given how good Johnny Hendricks has looked in his past 2 or 3 bouts I'd have figured he was a lock for the next title shot.. he should be a lock for the next shot.

Money, man. Money. The UFC is probably thinking they'll make more money off that fight than the Hendricks one. Plus, GSP wanted Diaz.

Somehow Diaz will mess it up again and they will move Hendricks up to fight GSP on the same card. lol

Yes, I can see this happening. I wonder if that's the reason we have Hendricks/Ellenberger and MacDonald/Condit on the same card. The UFC could switch all these match ups around if someone gets injured or whatnot. Although, I do hope this card arrives intact.

He's the least likely threat to GSP, bottom line.

GSP said he wanted Nick Diaz next.

Hendricks I think is the top contender but them's the breaks. If he feels he's the top fighter and he can take the belt from GSP then he should be able to beat Jake Ellenberger as well.

The good news is though in the chance Diaz screws up again, Hendricks is there to take his place. Like Dana White says, there are no guarantees with Nick Diaz.
