I want to see Velasquez/Dos Santos 3. Two completely different fights, I want one more. :word:

Dream new years eve. If you got direct tv it is listed on 613. Not sure if it is actually gonna air on new years eve. In the guide it is listed on 1/1 at 9pm central. But the shows are sometimes mislabled on the guide. It does says Glory 4 is on the 31st. These are some long shows. Gonna have to clear dvr for these.

I don't see anyone stopping Velasquez if he comes to fight like he did every fight. Dude is a beast. I couldn't believe he was doing that to JDS. Velasquez is the perfect heavyweight, in my opinion. He isn't too big and he's quick as hell. Plus, his gas tank is ridiculous, with wrestling and stand up ability, he can wear anyone down. Plus, most of the time, his chin is pretty solid. The only thing that sucks, is that there is barely anyone in heavyweight division. And he probably won't be fighting until July of 2013. Whoever he fights, I feel sorry for them. Most of the heavyweight division are basically one skilled fighters. I don't see anyone as well rounded as Velasquez.

damn poor JDS

That first fight was a fluke, IMO. Cain was clearly not himself, and JDS' overhand right barely caught him on the pad of his thumb. It was literally an upset because that should not happen on such a sloppy punch in the first place.

Last night was more the way that first fight should have gone. Not saying Cain should have had total dominance, but I'm saying Cain should have looked more like he did. JDS was taken by surprise because he was expecting the Cain from 13 months ago... not the Cain that destroyed Bigfoot and Lesner. And he got rocked early for it.

You can't call the first fight a fluke, the difference in the first fight was Cain gave Dos Santos far too much respect & gave him time to find his range/timing in the first when he was going to be at his most dangerous. He paid the price by Dos Santos KO'ing him. Call it ring rust or whatever you want, but it was no fluke, Dos Santos has the ability/capability of dropping any HW with 1 punch & Cain is no exception to that.

I think it's inevitable for a 3rd, probably end of the year again 2013. Overeem is supposedly fighting Bigfoot super bowl weekend. If Overeem wins I'd like to see Him and Cain matchup, or even Big Country, Fabricio Werdum vs Cain. Not sure what J Dos Santos's next move should be before a rematch with Cain.

I see JDS taking on the loser of Bigfoot/Overeem. If Overeem loses then him and JDS is the easy fight to make since there is bad blood there. If it's Bigfoot then Bigfoot is a decent enough opponent for JDS to fight before getting another ****le tot.

Yeah, I don't see Overeem fighting for the title this quickly. It's likely that Alistair will fight JDS. They genuinely don't like each other and Overeem has been talking up a ****storm. JDS was really pushing for the match up always. I say give it to him. Let the winner get the title shot.

In the meantime, give Fabricio Werdum the title shot. He'll present some challenges on the ground against Velasquez and he is the best grappler in the Heavyweight division today.

if overeem beats big foot he is guaranteed a title shot

honestly who else is there

jds just lost and big nog/werdum are stuck doing TUF

Yeah Overeem is getting the shot if he wins no doubt. He already got it from beating Brock, and there really isn't anyone else besides maybe Cormier if he wins in a couple of weeks. Even then Cormier is not fighting Cain, so it's back to Overeem. Werdum would be good if he wasn't tied up with TUF fighting Nog again. I wouldn't sleep on Bigfoot to beat Overeem either. He's slow as hell, but you don't know how Overeem will be when he's not juiced up.

Those knees are still scary, and he knows utilize them. Overeem is a good kickboxer after all -- juice or no juice. That said, Silva has those giant fists and Alistair has been TKOed multiple times in his career already.

big foot nearly got ko'd by lhw mike kyle i am sure overeem would blast through him with ease

Honestly, I don't feel Overeem deserves a shot right after one fight back from a positive test... he should have to fight back into contention clean first. I'd like to see Velasquez vs. Dos Santos III first, but Overeem is the draw, so I understand it.

I'm Venom, doesn't matter because that still might be the fight to make. Who else is there to fight for the heavyweight title? JDS will need some time off to recover from that beating. Cormier doesn't really want to fight Velasquez and might be moving down to 205 if it comes to it. Nelson isn't exactly in title contention.

Fabrico Werdum could get the shot if he beats Nogueira, but they aren't fighting until June 2013.

Yes but in the ufc world who deserves a title shot or not doesn't matter.

If he ends up fighting Cain those knees will be an issue. The way Cain was dirty boxing and clinching JDS against the cage leaves him vulnerable to get blasted to the body with those knees.

It's been a while since I watched an Overeem fight... but cardio might be an issue for him.

It will, he barely made it 3 rounds with Werdum & Werdum spent half the fight lying on his back asking Overeem to enter his guard.

Have the winner of Bisping vs. Belfort face Silva in the summer in either Brazil or England. Around the same time, have Weidman face either Philippou or Okami to determine the next contender.

Werdum should have been fined for that BS.

Overeem is a good kickboxer but he only seems to throw big looping punches and his cardio sucks. If Velasquez can withstand his punches, I think he will be fine.

Rory doesn't know how to finish a fight. JDS has tremendous heart; he fought harder then alot of guys who are clearly winning a fight.
