now this is weird i just read Shayna Baszler tried out for TUF it is weird because she should just be in the ufc already she has 24 professional fights and has been fighting for 10 years with fights with alexis davis, mcmann, cyborg, kedzie, kaufmann

she has to be the favorite to win

She's already better than some of the women the UFC has signed, but my guess is that she wants to earn a UFC contract instead of having it handed to her. That and she may want to build up her name a bit.

The UFC has already made good use of the women they have signed so far with Rousey vs. Carmouche and Tate vs. Zingano. Sara McMann vs. Sheila Gaff at UFC 159 in ten days and Alexis Davis vs. Rosi Sexton in June at UFC 161.

Dana isn't going to sign a serious threat to Rousey at first until he gets a few fights out of her.

From what I've seen she has a really good ground game.

I love the Queen of Spades but I don't see her as that much of a threat. I honestly don't think Dana protects his faves. He thinks they can **** everybody up.
According to the Sherdog.com message board, the following women attended the latest TUF tryout:
I wish WMMA had taken off a long time ago. Tara was ****ing awesome, but she's starting to look past her prime.

alex davis is who i want to see fight ronda she is a cesar gracie black belt and she choked out baszler a couple months back and she can strike aswell

Picks for tonight?

Who I want to win: Melendez, Mir, Diaz, and Brown.

Who will win: Bendo, DC, Thomson, and Mein.

So pumped. PPV level card on free TV tomorrow. Good fights on FX as well.

Tonight should be a good card. I'm thinking that Bendo, Cormier, and Nate get the win in the big three, but I could easily see it going the other way. Gil has been great for a while despite his last fight not being so spectacular, and Mir could rip anything off if he's on the ground long enough. Cormier is very good, but I sometimes wonder if he's getting too ahead of himself talking about moving down and beating Jon Jones. If he looks ahead too much he might forget that Mir is pretty good.

Henderson by Unanimous Decision
Mir by second round TKO
Thomson by Split Decision
Mein by first round TKO

Why am I getting the feeling that Bendo is gonna get upset and ruin our Pettis-Henderson rematch????

As for co-main event, Mir is declining and Cormier is a very strong wrestler (Mir's Achillies' Heel). I'm giving it to Daniel via UD.

I wish I could put more faith in Mir, as he is my favorite heavyweight currently, but he does tend to fold under pressure, and DC is sure gonna do lots of that.

I wish Gilbert wasn't coming off an injury. I see Bendo just being stronger, and both their stand ups canceling each other out. Though, I know Gilbert has the better boxing, but I see Bendo keeping him at bay with his leg kicks. Both guys have excellent scrambles. I just have to side with the healthier fighter, which I think is Bendo.

I'm gonna go Bendo, Cormier, Diaz & Mein for main card.

Agree completely on Mir, Lesnar exposed Mir's ground game, at least when put on his back by an aggressive & strong wrestler. I'm thinking Cormier is going to finish Mir either by dropping him on the feet or by smothering him on the ground & pounding him out like Lesnar did.

I'd consider it a big upset if Melendez manages to beat Bendo, but he does have the capabilities to do so, I think his record flatters his ability a little, I don't think he'd be where he is today if he'd being building himself through the UFC's LW's, I think he'd have a few more L's instead of W's.

DoomsdayApex, well that rematch is already a long way off considering Pettis has already signed on to fight Aldo in August, and that's at featherweight.

Mir does have a tendency to get overwhelmed by the bigger heavyweights, but Cormier isn't really that big of a heavyweight. If Mir is able to take this to the ground, it will be interesting, so you can't count him out.

Yep. Mir seems to fold against any fighter with a wrestling base, especially when his opponent has a large frame and big-time strength. Cormier isn't a huge heavyweight but he's got a wide frame and possesses underrated strength. His wrestling pedigree is top notch as well. This is a bad match up for Mir. Lesnar and Carwin basically toyed with him and I sense Cormier will too.

In Frank's case, Posture >>> Guard.

I don't doubt Gilbert's skill set. He's a fine prospect but if he were to beat Bendo, it'd be the lead contender for upset of the year, in my book. It's gonna come down on whether or not Melendez can stop Henderson's takedowns, and I don't see it happening.

They're both set to collide in Q4 of 2013 if they both win their respective bouts. I don't see that as a long way off.

The way 155 was before the UFC guys established themselves is what keeps me from seeing Gil beating Bendo as a big upset. I see why Bendo is the favorite, but Gil has beaten some top guys of his own right to be elite himself. There have been some really good guys outside of the UFC at 155, and Gil beat most of them except Alvarez, who he hasn't had the chance to fight. I think those kicks of Bendo will be the difference maker, but Gil has some good hands himself. With 155 it's always good matchups.

Gilbert deserves to be in elite conversations but Bendo is much bigger and his wrestling could neutralize Melendez's boxing completely. If Gilbert can stop the takedowns, then this fight will take on a different dynamic but it's not a scenario that I envision.

What is this? KTFO Saturday? People are going to sleep today.

Dayum.. Thomson just knocked Diaz the **** out..

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a Diaz get the **** beat out of him.

Very safe but smart gameplan by Cormier. He neutralized Mir's Boxing and Jiu-Jitsu.
