Glad Werdum won. Let's see how fast Cain comes back for his next fight, now that he isn't the champ anymore.

Thought Werdum looked very good, that lose to Overeem I think really had a dramatic effect on Werdum. Since then he has no longer only relied upon just his ground game, his standup has improved dramatically to a point were he now more of a well rounded fighter & viable threat on the feet.

Werdum put in some good work against Cain, stood toe to toe with him & didn't lose that many of the exchanges on the feet as I felt he would have beforehand. Velasquez overall didn't look that great, I don't think it was a case of him being out of shape for the fight, I think it was a combination of the fact that he hasn't had a fight in I think 2 years & the altitude at which they were fighting. Even the worlds fittest person will struggle with altitude changes if they've not properly acclimatised themselves to the condition. Werdum spent over a month training at a HIGHER altitude than the fight, hense why he looked much better. Velasquez I believe only arrived 2 weeks prior to the fight, which was no good.

Velasquez shouldn't be given an immediate rematch, he's had 2 years off & in all honesty Werdum beat him up pretty badly. He needs to get a few wins before getting another shot.

I recall Werdum looking very out of shape against Overeem as well.

Gilbert Melendez only has himself to blame for the loss to Alvarez. He was on autopilot the whole fight.

Serious performance from Werdum on his feet, he had broken Velasquez before he went for the kamikaze takedown.

The heart wants Shamrock, but the mind says Slice. Can't wait for tonight!

Valiant effort by Shamrock. He almost had it won with the rear naked chokehold, but Slice was just too strong! Good night, Ken! Had this fight happened years like it should've, there is no doubt in my mind, the outcome would've been different.

By years, you mean at least ten years right? Shamrock, MMA legend, just keeps looking foolish out there. The third fight with Tito should hsve been the curtain call.

Didn't Tito just announce a new fight?

They're putting on a dynamite event in San Jose in September.

It will feature McGeary vs. Ortiz for the title as the main event and also a one night four man tournament with Davis, King Mo Newton, and Vassell.

Shamrock could've beat Slice back in 2008. He's the Ric Flair of MMA. He has to keep going because he's broke thanks to losing the UFC lawsuit.

It doesn't matter how long you haven't fought for, a grappler as skilled as Shamrock doesn't forget how to apply a basic choke properly. It looked pretty suspect. They also couldn't afford to look stupid by having a 15 minute gas-fest in a fight which was already a source of derision.

Maybe, but we'll never know now. That's unfortunate. He's just too far past his prime. It's sad to watch.

Apparently, Aldo is injured. I understand you need to train hard to be good, but is it really that hard not to injure yourself severely? The UFC needs to invest in safe seminars to teach fighters how to minimize the possibility of serious injuries. I was looking forward to this fight.

Aldo officially out, Mendes officially in vs McGregor.

Still fancy Conor to pull off an upset, big question is can he stop Mendes taking him down & if he can't how quickly can he work back to his feet. Still a decent matchup style wise, but gutted Also pulled out... further fuels McGregor's mouth as well.

Shocking.

I knew Aldo would find a way out of this fight after he pissed hot but the sample mysteriously disappearing shortly after.

He didn't actually piss hot, but it was suspicious IMHO. Aldo has now pulled out of five scheduled UFC title fights.

It is time to regulate training camps.

I always found it funny, when champions become champion, they start missing fights and all that. There should be a rule where if you can't defend your title two times in a year, you're stripped of it. Forget interim champs. MMA moves a thousands miles an hour. Tired of all these title fights getting delayed.

Aldo is such a great fighter, but he really needs to change up the way he trains. It seems like he's either brittle, or he fights at a camp that does some of the same things without altering it so that he doesn't pull out of fights so often. They really gotta take time to change up his training so that he's not beating himself up out of fights so often. For a guy that complains about his pay you'd think he'd want to fight more often.

This is better than WrestleMania. In the situation that Mendes wins, that means he must fight Aldo again which I don't see a point of. He's lost twice to Aldo and if he beats McGregor and fights Aldo again he'd only be one fight removed from fighting Aldo again. There's no need for a rubber match between Aldo and Mendes, as exciting as the second fight was.

And this is why you don't slend ~$1M promoting a fight in a sport where injuries could happen at any time.

How he trains is why he fights the way he does. So it is a double edged sword.

Sucks that Aldo isn't fighting, but at least McGregor finally gets a fight against someone who actually carries some weight to their name. Again wish it was Edgar, but the UFC can't risk their cash cow getting Penned up by Jersey's Beastie Boy.

McGregor will have all the respect in the world if he wins this, and the Aldo fight will be bigger. Very intrigued... Aldo should just retire, how annoying to always miss fights like he does.

Even if he waits for Brazil he's going to get tested out of his a**.
