maybe it's a power dampening evil death bubble. lol
Still doesn't account for magic-based teleporting like Pixie's and (maybe) Magik's. Magic and technology don't mix very well in the Marvel Universe, so I doubt a robot like Bastion could construct a magic thunder dome.

maybe the toxin just revealed in Uncanny has something to do with it.

X-MEN LEGACY #233

STORY BY Mike Carey
ART BY Clay Mann
COVER BY Adi Granov
COVER PRICE: $2.99
RELEASE DATE: Wed, February 24th, 2010

Tie-In The most powerful villain the X-Men has ever faced is back. PROTEUS has returned and he is more powerful than ever! Now the X-Men must stop him where he died: Muir Island. Failure is not an option as this madman makes his move to block the X-Men from stopping Selene and her plans in Necrosha.

So Rogue takes on all the X-men and Proteus to save the day? How predictable?

always s****** in everybodies cheerios, Manic...:hehe:

^^ and yeah, F*** Rogue! so tired of her, there are so many better characters who could use the face time

What's up with Deadpool popping in and out of X-books? Doesn't he have a home to go back to?

About as predictable as the scene that'll pop up later in the book with Magneto drooling over how amazing/talented/powerful/great leader she is or some crap.

It's a joke.

to her credit..Rogue HAS been a villain before and should be able to fight some of the X-men...however..as Carey is using her...there need not be ANY other heroes in the MU...just Rogue

Then she'll have to fight herself in the end, because there's no one better fitted as an invincible opponent.

I don't know why you guys are complaining so much about Rogue being front and center...we all knew after Xavier it was going to focus more on Rogue...and in time it'll be all about someone else...

Just because we knew it was coming, that doesn't mean we have to enjoy it. Mike Carey's Rogue is pretty much Claremontian.

I should just go ahead and announce it. I have a deal with Marvel. I'm taking over Legacy in 12 issues. I'm going to shift the focus from Rogue and it's going to be very Wolverine centric. I feel like he's a very underused character. I mean he only has what 12 ongoings? Come on we can do so much better than that!

Oh, and the new title of the book is X-Men: Feral Rage.

12???

Just think how much I can save by not buying them, it's not like the 12+ are too much different from each other.

Someone mysterious from the past and is now going to haunt Logan's present, another little girl in distress...

There's a great difference between having a book focus on a character and having a book effectively WORSHIP a character.

Carey is writing Rogue like she's one of the Marvel U's heaviest hitters... if not THE heaviest hitter.

I really liked his run with Xavier, but I dropped it now. Can't stand it anymore for the simple reason that you said.

Obscure Marvel characters should get played by rugged pretty boys more often. It's done wonders for Wolverine and Deadpool.

Well Wolverine hasn't been "obscure" since the 70s or so. But Deadpool does fit the bill (at least from the perspective of non-Comic book readers_.

It's an interesting effect. Tag a famous/popular actor with any character and said character will see a huge popularity spike. Look at Wesley Snipes and Blade. There were Marvel comics fans who had no idea who Blade was before that trilogy.

Take a major player in Hollywood right now and stick them with a small-time Marvel character... and you'll wind up with a pretty big increase in character popularity.

I wouldnt say tying Snipes to the role did anything for Blade. He's never been much of a popular figure within Marvel's comics before or after the movies. In fact I didnt even know he was a Marvel character until years after the first film

Those movies are the reason Blade still has stories in the Marvel line. He was essentially a dead character prior to the movies, and while he's certainly no superstar right now, he's gotten a lot more exposure than the character ever did before (and we're talking about a character that's been around since '73).

He's shown up in books he'd previously never gotten a sniff at, and even managed to worm his way into Marvel Ultimate Alliance, simply due to the movies (and was thus appealing to consumers that aren't heavy comic readers - they knew him from the movies). He's also made appearances in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, and got into a few version of MUA2.

Like I said, he's certainly no heavy hitter, but those movies have given the character some legs in recent years. If the Blade series never happens, his character would probably be in indefinite limbo, like so many other Marvel characters that just kind of drifted away.

...So Ghost Rider shouldn't have been played by Cage...he's not rugged pretty...whatever **** 'rugged pretty' means.

Okay...

1. Cage shouldn't have played Ghost Rider because he's untalented and uncharismatic, and his career is a Hollywood Anomaly.

2. "rugged pretty boy" means to be both ruggedly handsome and a pretty boy. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds can pull off both, depending on costuming and how much facial hair they grow. Not every actor can pull off both. Leonardo DiCaprio can't pull off rugged to save his life, and Russell Crowe is a handsome man who sure as hell ain't pretty.
