i wonder if Ruth's brother is Trevor..Destiny's ORIGINAL grandkid that has the exact same powers as Franklin Richards that was in X-factor back in the day..not the team. the book..he should still be a kid...

didnt Destiny say great grandmother? so that wouldnt work, if it is infact true.

Destiny is about 100 years old, give or take. Hence why she was dead.

Mystique is over 100, too. She's still alive because her shapeshifting power keeps the cells in her body young as long as she wills them to be, I imagine.

However, I do think Mystique is getting more demented with age. Destiny couldn't have possibly fallen in love with the crazy ass b**** we know today. I don't even think Rogue recognizes today's Mystique as the one who took care of her as a child.

Have they ever showed Mystique background like where she was born or is it all mysterious like Wolverine was for years?

Have Nightcrawler and Rogue ever be shown to act like brother and sister in the comics? I don't really remember seeing them have that much interaction outside of the usual X-Men team stuff.

No and no. Outside of Kurt being revealed as Mystique's son back in Xmen Unlimited, I cant really recall any close scenes between he and Rogue, specific to their connection to Mystique. Kurt never developed a relationship with Mystique

They'll mention it off-hand to one another if they're in a scene together and the current story involves Mystique somehow, but other than that, I can't think of any specific bonding scenes between the two either.

Joe Quesada: Clay Mann isn't going anywhere. You'll see an X-Centric announcement coming about him some time very soon! I take a lot of pride in seeing a kid like Clay progress through our system and grow as an artist and in popularity. I remember meeting him some time ago at a convention. Joe Quesada: We definitely take characters and mood into consideration when choosing artists for books and thought Daniel Acuña was perfect for the Emplate arc as well. We miss him on "Legacy," but can't wait to see his "Black Widow"!

Kiel Phegley: And finally (and this is something a few people have mentioned on the boards of late: "And the boards have generated a lot of buzz about the return of Husk. It's made a lot of people happy, so the question is, will she be used more often with the positive reaction to her appearance in Legacy? Could we maybe even get a one-shot featuring the living members of Generation X?"

Joe Quesada: We couldn't be happier that the boards were all a-twitter about Husk being back. Heck I think Twitter is all a-board about it too.

That's one of the reasons we were happy Mike Carey wanted to use her there. I can't promise that she'll be headlining much, but I'll do what I can. Remember, this is VP Executive Editor Axel Alonso I have to deal with here.

The only glimpse of a background to Mystique that I can recall (and this will begin to show her age) was from the Sabretooth mini in the early 90's, where she was a double agent or something like that during WW2. Her aging was also explained in that as well, that due to her shapeshifting abilities her cells are consistently being renewed. I think she was bats#@t crazy at the time then too.

Back when X-Treme X-Men was exploring Destiny's Diaries, there was a glimpse of when Mystique met Destiny like 100 years ago.

I don't know its just seems like there are some unexplored storylines given two mutant superheros on the same team share a biological and foster mother yet never seem to mention it which is kind of odd.

Especially given the fact Mystique has been on X-teams as well as had long running issues with Rogue, and blew up Moria McTaggert as well as slit Banshees throat you would think Nighcrawler would have atleast some stuff to discuss with the both of them.

Its funny how Mystique doesn't seem to give a hoot about her abandoned biological kids Graydon Creed and Kurt yet she seems to want to play mummy dearest with Rogue

In fairness to Graydon, he sorta hates all mutants.

I think Kurt reminds her of the time she had to give up the good life. She had riches, was married to a baron, and envied no woman. Then that damn blue-skinned brat was born, and she had to go back to her aging blind girlfriend in America.

In all honesty, this is because while the Mystique/Rogue connections have always been very apparent and possess a lot of history... the Mystique/Nightcrawler and Mystique/Creed relationships were just kind of show horned in there for shock value back when they were conceived.

That, and I was under the impression that Nightcrawler (unlike Rogue) is quite plain on where he stands on, ya know, raging psychopaths that have no business following the X-Men around.

well..perhaps the whole 'surviving members' thing in Gen X will be retconned or corrected pending the aftermath of Necrosha...Skin, Synch and Chamber really were the stars of that show for me...then M, then Jubilee and lastly Penance..and then Gaia...Leech n Artie....and drop dead lastly, Husk.

well...other than what you just described...except for the spring/autumn sex (it can be great!...ahem) her powerset always was gross to me....and i still don't quite understand it...so is she a shapeshifter? what can she turn into?
