Okay... Who else loved Logan vs. Jean

What I don't get is why would she let him get close enough? She has telekinesis, she could've picked him up and thrown him miles?

It was a cool scene though he cant heal that fast. One of the only scenes that I can forgive in its misuses because the skin coming back was a cool effect.

Well, one thing is the comics were the whole Scott/Jean relationship was more than ok but in the movies Scott has been a secondary character (I hate it but it is the truth) and yes, Jean prefered Scott in X2 but she has her doubts, she kissed Logan a little, and when they were in the Alkali Lake underground base she was very disappointed when she found out Logan had left....which connects back to her speech about bad and good guys...she chooses Scott but while they are rescuing Prof. X she calls Logan when she senses what is going to happen....so.....(ok, I saw X2 last night)
I can believe Logan loves Jean in X3, he already told Jean his heart belong to her in X1....and he was fairly sad when he thought she had died at the end of X2...why not? the love that is hard to get or seems impossible to get tends to get stronger, Logan tells Rogue that he feels that need to touch someone he cannot have....

I love the comics but I liked the scene where Logan gets to her and tells Jean that he has been enduring that for her and that he loved her....Scott should have had his chance to prove his love but as he was not included, well, at least we had Logan....and the chemistry between Famke and Hugh is great, they fit.

"it should of been Scott, because Jean chose him, Jean loved him" I didn't hear Jean say I love you back anywhere, for me it made the whole scene all the more powerfull, that this man will go all the way for the woman who won't even return the love he has for her. I liked the ending.

Athough I belive Scott should have lived, do you really think he could of done the same thing in Wolverine's place.. let alone be able to?

Oh and didn't something similar happen in the comics, where Magneto was sending Wolverine and Jean towards the sun and he killed her to ease the pain?

I liked it. I was awe-struck at how awesome the special effects were. I didn't even need to see the Phoenix flame to enjoy it. Wolverine's adamantium bones showing was a nice touch, too. But no, the whole scene wasn't my favourite. It felt short.

Yes, it was in the Planet X arch.

Personally I thought the scene was very powerful, regardless of it being Wolverine and not Scott, but overall it felt like it should be longer.

it did nothing for me.

it shouldve been scott trying to talk jean down. and i hated how logan was the only xman to talk to jean. she and storm shouldve faced off

Thought it was stupid because apparently his healing factor prevents him from getting turned into dust in a split second. And we learned that Adamantium can't even be affected on a subatomic level.

I actually prefer the Wolvie/Jean relationship to the Cykes/Jean one only because Cykes is about and dull as dishwater, and I believe deep down inside Jean, she's always want to be with Logan, but has always viewed it as the bad choice. The Wolvie/Jean relationship just has a lot more chemistry and it's a bit more believeable to me personally.

Explain how Scott can show chemistry with Jean when he only has a twentieth of Logan's screentime and enough lines to count on a single hand.

The math just doesn't add up.

Being that the Phoenix is a part of Jean, and a deep alter-ego, it was only showing Jeans deepest desires, and that was to be with Logan.

Um, no. Jean desires/lusts for Logan, certainly, but lust does not necessarily equal love. So even if Phoenix was expressing her deepest desires (unlikely, since it's been basically established that Jean is schizophrenic), it wouldn't mean that she loved Logan.

But the entire X-series was biased towards Logan in the first place, so I don't think I can argue the Logan/Jean relationship anyway.

yeah...thats why jean never says ""I love you too" to logan, lol....

Yes, the scene with Wolverine and Phoenix was pretty awesome.

But it was a bittersweet experience.

The scene itself was awesome, but it should have been Cyclops marching towards Phoenix. Afterall, Jean does love Scott, not Logan.

It was a great scene, but an utter slap in the face to X-Men fans.

Bitter ****ing sweet.

I agree Nel, it should have been Scott... I loved the movie, but this end... I remember saying on the cinema that it was wrong... but I think that they imagined it as New x - men ( i don't remember the nunber ) when Logan kill Jean in the spaceship when they are going to the sun...

It was flipping awesome! It couldn't have worked with Scott unless they figured out a way to protect him against the power..

It was one of my favorite parts of the whole movie. But I've never cared for the X-Men that much, (with a few exceptions like Wolverine) so I don't have the fanboy rage over it alot of you seem to have.

that scene was definately my favourite... Logan/Jean was AMESOME and that scene was overwhelmingly emotional - not at all rushed as a relationship.

No matter how much you love Cyclops (which I do) and Cyclops/Jean, in terms of the movies, this worked and it was amazing

I thought it was rushed and felt a little like "okay time to end this," with little emotion. It reminded me a lot more of the ending to Van Helsing than the comics which is not a good thing.

It should have been Cyclops and it should have had more build up and been more emotional and taken more time and....oh why even bother?

I didn't take it as that. I took it like what she did to the professor. At first she just disinigrated parts of him, then blew him to heck. She was just attacking Logan partially, but I'm guessing Jean wouldn't let Pheonix blast Logan away. She was kind of warning him to stop or she'd do it. Hence the "you'd die for them?" line. I think Pheonix was going to kill him right before Logan responded to her.

it wasn't long enough!! it was good, but not long enough..i want ed to see some more torment....

Anyone point out the fact that it shouldn't have worked out with Logan either?

Thats exactly why I had a problem with it Phoenix was way to weak even if jean was holding her back.

True, but that is my feeling about all the movie...not long enough, not nearly....I needed more...a sense of closure or at least more emotional depth to these scenes, I mean Logan kills a woman he claims to love shouts NOOOOO and well, everything is fine, lets just watch the tv...we have no idea whether John survives Phoenix rage and a large etc....

It was rushed though. We get some cool SFX but we should have seen some more ineraction. Him breaking through to her long enough for them to say some things and take your time in this good bye. It had no finesse or style it was just, "Okay Logan kills Jean now." It was essientially the ending to Van Helsing.

What a waste!
