I wonder what themes an MCU FF would tackle.
How will each member will grow?
Who will be the POV character?
What will the action set pieces be like?

Those are the things I'm really interested in.

I think Ben Grimm should be the POV character. You need an everyman for that role and not someone like Reed, or a prankster like Johnny Storm. Also it's best to have someone who can make comedic observations about everyone but an elicit emotion and pathos where needed. Grimm was also everyone's favourite pal in the Marvel Universe in the comics who hung around with almost every superhero. Other than Spider-Man, he probably had the most team-ups with everyone.

I've mentioned this before, but I think Taika would be a really good fit to direct this movie. I hadn't seen JoJo Rabbit until last night and it got me to thinking......again.

I think FF should be fun, but I'm not sure Taikas style exactly fits. Imo.

I think one of the dangers of having too much taika is because his style is so distinctive eventually people might get sick of it like a Tim Burton. Hopefully not anytime soon but it’s something to consider

It might be counterintuitive for some but... Man I hope they break the bank a bit when it comes to the budget for this.

Obviously it won't be IW/EG levels of budget. Still, I really want a big, epic canvass for the film to play out on.

I don’t, I hope it’s super cheap and comes out Flash Gordon levels of camp

kidding but just imagine

I'm cool with that as long as it also contains the same amount of Penthouse Pets and overall decadence the 80's Flash Gordon had. :o

I do think the budget on this is going to be interesting.

Do they, in trying to be in the black as much as possible after Covid, low ball the budget so as to reap that ROI?

Or... Do they think that what they need is something that will truly establish the FF as a top tier group of characters in the audience's mind? And that's gonna take money. I liked the first Ant-Man a lot... A first MCU FF film needs a budget bigger than A-M1.

The great thing about waiting so long for this is technology is getting to the point that spectacular visuals shouldn't break the bank.

And if they cast some relative unknowns all the budget can go onscreen.

But yeah, I think it should be visually spectacular and they should spend as much as they need to get that. The visuals of the first FF comic books made readers say "Wow!" so the film should do the same for viewers. With comic books, the only limit is the artist's imagination, and I think we're getting close to the point that the same is true for films.

I couldn't help feeling with some of the early Marvel films that they didn't seem as big and spectacular as what I saw in my mind when reading the comic books. I'm hoping this will be a true comic-book come to life with no limits.

I hope next year at comic con. Marvel announce the cast and release date for this.

I think most of all, I'm rooting for Franklin Richards to already be included. Really drive home the family element. Skip the origin/linear storytelling and include their bump-in with cosmic rays via flashback/pre-credits scene or even as video footage to play in a giant screen behind Reed as he speaks to a large student/academic body at the Future Foundation lol.

I still think James Bobin would be a good director pick. But I'm not opposed to other choices I've seen thrown out there. Are there any new Brad Birds or Travis Knights in the animation realm that are ready to make a leap into live-action?

After watching final season of AOS, couldn't help but, think Enver Gjokaj could have been a good Reed, too... don't get me wrong I liked his character in Pegg an seeing him agian in this... maybe it was just the way they aged him up just slightly, with the grey temple, and the old fashion ways his character, conducted him self, but he was able to nail that pasona... who would be the equivalent to him ?

what are you guys thinking about Dan Fogler for Ben? I liked him in Fantastic Beasts 1.

Btw Seth Rogen has given a few statements about the MCU lately (how it‘ll be difficult for comedy movies to compete with the MCU humor)...I smell, that there‘s something in the air

^he did recently loose a lot of weight, or at least last i saw of him

When I read about „an american pickle“ i thought - yeah classic seth rogen movie.
but when i saw the trailer, i was surprised how serious he seems to be in this movie - and in a believable way.
i want to see that movie, but hbo max ain‘t available here...

Well one of Seth Rogen's characters is called Ben Greenbaum, which is only a few letters away from Ben Grimm. ;)

What do they mean "may have permission to launch"? Didn't they have permission all this time?

That's probably poorly chosen wording. It should be: "Marvel may be setting up the infrastructure to start production of Fantastic Four."

... and based on the information in the article, it seems to be a safe bet. :D

Unless Fant4stic was so bad that they needed to seek government approval to even make another one and not inflict something terrible on the public?

If we're being honest, though, the FF isn't exactly a safe bet money-maker for Disney at this point...

But the Marvel brand overall is.

Even if, say, in a year, theatrically things are still a mess, I can say for sure that a Marvel Studios film, while not breaking the bank in the same way, will be something that is a safe bet to at the very least, return a tidy profit.
