What about Mitchell Hoog from Saved by the bell as Johnny Storm? Yes, he's somewhat annoying but maybe that's also a quality of Johnny. He could seem superficial at first but later have more to him.

Hmm...this may not have any bearing on the MCU FF but the choice to set it partly in the 60’s is interesting.

Ben Grimm looks like John Cena with a combover. I feel like they way they draw the characters informs us on how they will cast or at least are dropping hints to the actors themselves that they prefer their look

Spider-Man had the same premise last year and this book is to do with the teams 60th this year. That's why it has that '60 years' image on the cover.

I don't see the resemblance.

MCU Fantastic Four Origin In WandaVision Theory Debunked By Showrunner

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I guess people were making a reach farther than Mr. Fantastic could ever make taking that line as a direct hint or foreshadowing of the FF.

I never thought the specific line (particularly when it was misquoted) was key, but I think the idea that SWORD is active and somewhat desperate is the real key

I strongly suspect the FF will be introduced in connection with SWORD, and Reed Richards (and maybe Victor Von Doom) will likely be involved in trying to greatly increase their space travelling capability.

And the desperation of SWORD could lead to Reed taking chances.

I expect the space race with the Russians will be replaced with a race with alien technology to give the Earth a footprint and standing in the new reality.

@Willie Lumpkin: The FF (pre-accident) starting out as SWORD members is reasonable speculation. However, I would hope that when they get their powers they cut ties with the organization and become autonomous. I don’t want the FF being overly affiliated with outside groups.

 Yeah. I agree.

I’d like to see something fairly faithful to the comics such as: Reed helps to develop a new drive capable of interstellar travel, but SWORD finds it too risky and refuses to let it fly. So the four sneak in and do it themselves.

Then afterward they don’t need to be tightly connected - Just like the FF wasn’t tied to NASA in the comics.

And all that could happen in bits and pieces in other films. They don’t need to spend a lot of screen time on it. It’s just something that happened, and by the time the FF film starts, that could just be history.

But bottom line, I don’t think WandaVision is setting up the idea that the accident already happened and the FF are “lost”.

But the SWORD space aspirations likely will involve the FF. It wouldn’t make any sense not to at this point.

I still believe we'll get the biggest hint at F4 in Quantumania. Would be nice if Peyton Reed got a chance to open the door for them in the MCU.

Agree on both.

I've thought SWORD would be the back door for the FF since the end of FFH.

And yes... Please no "SWORD is fitting the bill for all this Dr. Richards, so..." stuff.

The one part of the FF origin I hope they keep in place is that they STOLE a spaceship. That's what drives Reed's guilt over their accident -- it was his idea.

The FF being actually affiliated with SWORD is just too...convenient and lazy to me. I had the same complaint with Black Widow and Hawkeye (and to an extent, Cap) all being SHIELD agents from the get go. It makes their backgrounds far less interesting.

I haven’t watched WandaVision episode 5 yet, but did anyone notice this and have any thoughts?

"I know an aerospace engineer who'd be up for this challenge." Monica wants to create a vessel that'll get her into Westview safely, and contacts someone who sounds quite like Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic.

Imagine this: In the next episode they really talk up the “aerospace engineer” - “He’s absolutely BRILLIANT. He has come up with things we’ve never even imagined and advanced our technology in vast leaps over a brief period. And not only is he brilliant, but he’s tall and handsome...”

And when the internet is absolutely sure they’re about to introduce Reed Richards, they bring in...

Victor Von Doom.

Apparently the showrunner debunked this being connected to the F4 but then again marvel actors lie all the time could be what's going on here.

Or the writer of the F4 movie will use this plot thread to establish the F4, and the showrunner is unaware because that movie hasn't been written yet. The MCU is great at organic reincorporation, to the point that people think that they had everything planned out the whole time.

Just because the Wandavision writer didn't intend this to setup the F4, doesn't mean the writer of F4 won't look at this and say "hmm that would be a natural way to introduce these characters into this universe."

If you read the showrunner’s quote, you’ll see that all he really debunked was the connection between the mention of “cosmic radiation” and the FF.

Not any connection between the FF and SWORD or the possibility that the “aerospace engineer” is Reed Richards. (Which was mentioned in the episode after the interview with the showrunner).

"I have to tell you that thee CMBR, it was a coincidence. When I was putting my pitch together, I was trying to figure like, 'What's the science behind a broadcast? How does that even work?' When I was in college, I had a friend who his thesis was building this machine that was about measuring CMBR. So, I've always been really fascinated by relic radiation and the idea of also how television signals in the air work. I'm gonna embarrass myself if I talk about it...I've never really understood how TV signals work. I did a little bit of research, we had this expert and she helped me. CMBR was my own original pitch, separate from anything else as my own fascination. The thing about how radio waves are out deep in the universe, they just went out there and they just keep going out there. All of that seems like really fertile ground for a show about two Avengers in a sitcom."

Oh wow I would love that so much and it’s too perfect. A lot of people are saying IronHeart though which is probably more likely

Would Ironheart be on anyone's radar at the moment though? Isn't she a teenager building stuff in her bedroom with a box of scraps?

The actress playing Riri Williams is in her 20s, so it is likely she will be college aged when introduced. And it makes sense that Ironheart would make an MCU appearance before her show debuts next year.
