To be honest I’m exactly the opposite I think they should embrace the campy, cooky jetsons type model

I'm not quite that far, but I think there's balance somewhere in the middle. It's unlikely that an MCU film won't take a light hearted approach. I think the most serious films we've had are Winter Soldier and Black Panther, and I just don't think Fantastic Four naturally goes to topics as heavy as those films. FF should be a big bombastic exploration of incredible new sci-fi worlds and concepts, like Ragnarok or Guardians of the Galaxy, and I suspect it will be similarly funny as opposed to some serious political plotline.

Or another Fantastic Four casting

Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic- Joseph Gordon Levitt
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman- Abbie Cornish
Johnny Storm/Human Torch- Alexander Ludwig
Ben Grimm/The Thing- Garrett Hedlund
Victor Von Doom/ Doctor Doom- Jonathan Rhys Meyers

If they set it in the 60's, I would love to see the Kirby designs. Those designs would have a cool (and maybe a bit campy) retro-futuristic feel.

But I still want the story and characters to be reasonably serious. The comics weren't campy (maybe a few stories, like Impossible Man) - They were cool, imaginative Sci-Fi, so the film should have that feel.

Maybe we should talk about what films they should aim for? I was thinking incredibles level campy with some spy kids level elements

Fantastic Four
Directed by Jordan Peele

Reed Richards / Mr Fantastic: Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Susan Storm / Invisible Woman:Mackenzie Davis
Johnny Storm / Human Torch: Caleb Landry Jones
Benjamin Grimm / The Thing: Jordan Peele
Alicia Masters: Jerrika Hinton

Victor von Doom: Joel Edgerton
Kang the Conquerer: Ewan McGregor
Namor: Raymond Lee
Owen Reese / Molecule Man: Lakeith Stanfield
Harvey Elder / Mole Man: Josh Gad

Not sure how I feel about a black Ben Grimm, y'know with him being Jewish and all(hope this comment doesn't come off bigoted) but overall good cast picks.

Joel Edgerton believe it or not I could even see him as Reed Richards believe it or not

Or I could even see Ewan McGregor as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic if they go with an older Reed

If they go younger on Reed then Joseph Gordon Levitt is perfect

Joel Edgerton would make a better Ben than Victor, I think.

Nicolaj Coster-Waldau for Victor.

Either one of them is too old to be classmates with JGLevitt though.

I was watching Alias Grace and thinking Edward Holcoft could make a good Reed:

Or if they go with an older Fantastic Four MCU cast:

Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic- Josh Duhamel
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman- January Jones
Johnny Storm/Human Torch- Scott Eastwood
Ben Grimm/The Thing- Joel Edgerton
Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom- Nikolaj Coster Waldau

Now for a younger MCU Fantastic Four cast:

Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic- Joseph Gordon Levitt
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman- Maggie Grace
Johnny Storm/Human Torch- Colin Ford
Ben Grimm/The Thing- Jensen Ackles
Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom- Martin Wallstrom

Or if they go with an older Fantastic Four MCU cast:

Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic- Josh Duhamel
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman- January Jones
Johnny Storm/Human Torch- Scott Eastwood
I don't know if audiences would be able to handle the energy created by these actors. They're such dynamic, compelling performers with strong screen presences that they might overwhelm the film!

Collin Ford is an amazing pick for Johnny. Just absolute perfection

Oh yes I could see that. He’s young but not too young. Geeky looking but not too much that he wouldn’t fit an action role. Pretty good!

Somebody on Reddit suggested John Krasinski for Mr. Fantastic and damn it, I would be interested.

I don't think you come off as bigoted but I do wonder if such a proposition would ever interest Peele he might appreciate the allegorical qualities of the Thing

A Jewish thing would be so great though to embrace that golem mythology and truly honour Stan lee plus good representation is always good. I would love it

Following a couple of responses here, I could se Jon Krasinski for Reed And Edward Holcroft for DOOM.

I also think Holcroft would be a great Reed, but at a loss for who in his age range could be Victor.

Agreed. Because FF were often tongue in cheek, it made the occasional serious moment that much more engaging. For that reason I think Taika would be great as FF director. They would have to cast it right though.

In the alternative, when James Gunn is finished with GOTG he could take on the FF.

Joel Edgerton would make a better Ben than Victor, I think.

Nicolaj Coster-Waldau for Victor.

Joel Edgerton is so underrated, he could pull off either Reed or Ben.

I've already posted these suggestions on another thread but I think I'll put them here as well:

Reed Richards - Eddie Redmayne (Yes, he already has a "Fantastic" franchise but I think it could work.)

Sue Storm - Imogen Poots

Johnny Storm - Zac Efron (It's been suggested before but I think it's the perfect pick.)

Ben Grimm - Robert Kazinsky

Alecia Masters - Mackenzie Davis

Wyatt Wingfoot - Geno Segers

Dr Doom - Aidan Turner

Did you guys think that Marvel(if the deal goes through) should use Ross's FF designs as the basis for their MCU costume designs?

This design sort of reminds me of the MCU Stark-enhanced Spidey costume because of the black lines featured on them.
