If they do Namor, I'd love for them to introduce him with a flashback of Cap fighting with him and the original Human Torch (presumably in the period that was montaged in the first Captain America film) with some indication that he had never been heard from since then.

The montage made it seem as though Cap was working exclusively alongside the Howling Commandos, so I would prefer they not give us an Invaders recon. Perhaps a scene showing that they were working alongside each other at times, but not fully aware of each other's presence? Cap and his HC are brought in to clean up after Subby sinks a U Boat or the Torch fire bombs a Hydra fortress, with Cap catching a glimpse of the super human behind the attack?

For modern times, I say stick to the FF intro with Namor homeless and disoriented. He later finds out Atlantis was destroyed by the accursed surface world. And he is STEAMED. Imperious Rex!

What a messed up 'What if?'

But as I said I hope the films avoid the Namor story and put more time into the things that are important for the FF; adventure, family, science, and kicking ass.

Most "What if" stories were messed up.

The ones where there was a happy ending was in the minority.

There was the What If Secret Wars 25 years later where they were all stuck on the Beyonder's planet and Spidey had the symbiote all those decades. There was nothing left of Peter Parker underneath the suit. It was purely a skeleton with the black costume forming around him.

I caught Midnight Special on tv the other day and I guess I’m settled on Joel Edgerton as Ben Grimm. His role in the movie solidified him (:sly:) as a candidate (and, yeah, I know he’s been suggested for the role in here before.)

Krasinski as Reed and Edgerton as Ben I would be fine with. Add Haley Bennett as Sue and some unknown rando teen as Johnny and boom.

If they have Haley Bennett, she can sing a duet with Krasinski.

Maybe they can sing this song:

I can’t wait for the day when the FF are hinted at in an after credits sequence. I was listening to the Kevin smith podcast today

and he said, you know what would have been even better than the captain marvel symbol at the end of infinity war? The number 4.

And he’s got a point (although the captain marvel thing blew my mind). That would have been cool

I think that would've had people more excited. I get the feeling not everyone in the general audience knew what that was at the end. People would've recognised the FF symbol though. And it would've felt like a bigger deal to be getting them in the MCU - a bit like when Spider-Man joined.

Krasinski as Reed
Blunt as Sue
Edgerton as Ben
Dacre Montgomery(only two years older than Tom Holland) as Johnny

Sounds like a plan.

My friend didn’t but I think that’s ok. It’s good to leave people saying “what” and it’s a nice nod to the fans so they get excited

Have we ever had a truly surprising after credits scene that revealed something we wouldn't have suspected at the time?

Maybe the Thanos reveal? (which was big for us geeks, but meant nothing to most people)

It would be really cool if they announced an FF film in an after credits scene, but it also seems like it would be unprecedented.

No, it should've been Superman's logo. Now THAT would've gotten people really excited.

Ha! Not idris Elba, fassbender or dan Stephens?

I originally thought someone like Patton oswalt. Someone that could turn Herbie into a groot style character that everyone loves and then when doom turns up, bam, chokes him to death

I can’t remember if he’s already been suggested but how about Matthias Schoenaerts as Doom?

Movies he’s been in: Rust and Bone, The Drop, The Danish Girl, A Bigger Splash and recently in Red Sparrow.

Guy’s a really good actor, very emotive and I don’t think he’d have much trouble working behind a mask. His voice is deep, a bit of a gruff, and he’s got the build to make rest of the armor look good. Plus I like the idea of Doom resembling Putin.

I don't really know him, but based just on the photo, he seems like he'd be perfect for playing a young Vladimir Putin. :funny:

We need Putin the movie now!

Fox can make it with Noah Hawley in place of Doom!

A couple of casting overlaps between Doom and Putin (Mikkelsen...)

This is a very good suggestion.

Yeah I agree he should be like putin with superpowers and he seems like a good choice
