That is an interesting choice. Stranger Things has a very unique feel to it beyond the 80s setting, they may be good for giving an FF film a unique feel too which it needs.

I really like the idea.
Futurism theme?

The 2005 film went with Reed 31/Sue 23. They looked fresh and adventurous and it was socially acceptable.
Jessica Alba didn't look like a teenager, though like Peyton List and that other actress. And what about Spider-Man? What happens when Sue and Peter share a scene together? She'll look like a child.

Again. My stance is ' Reed mid to late 30s, Sue late 20s early 30s, Johnny 16-19.

Jessica Alba looked older than her age. And that was in its own universe. Now you have to consider the rest of the MCU and not look at the film in a vacuum.

Jessica Alba looked like a grown woman. Peyton List looks like a girl.

I was thinking more sci-fi adventure. Also paying homages to classic sci-fi and adventure films from the 60s up to the present day. It could be a film that is a celebration of that genre.

I consider her sharing a scene with Tom Holland a remote possibility unless Sony spaces out his solo films to less than every other year:

2019 - Spidey 2: Far From Home
2021 - Spidey 3: Graduation
Tom Holland re-ups for Spidey 4 and a fourth team-up, which would be Avengers 5 if he's in A4.
2023 - Avengers 5 (2022?), Spidey 4, Fantastic 4
So it won't come up unless he agrees to make films #9 & 10, which would be unprecedented. She'd share scenes with the new Peter Parker.

Why are we using her terrible depiction by Alba like it was good? She was awful and makes a case against Sue being that age.

She was totally fine, as faithful to the Kirby/Lee comics as modern mores would accept.
By 2022, someone like Emily Blunt will look like another Evangeline Lilly.

Uh, what? New Peter Parker? Holland is in it for the long haul. He wants to play Peter Parker until he's 30 years old. You're also assuming F4 don't come out until 2023-2024 AND that Marvel doesn't introduce them first in someone else's movie which could be years earlier.

Johnny Storm and Sue could show in Spider-Man 3

Jessica Alba was absolutely horrible; She was not believable as a scientist, not a strong character, did next to nothing, was fridged in the second film, and was only there as eye candy. The only good things from that film were Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis.
Alba was terrible.

Also, Lee/Kirby's Sue sucked. There, I said it.

Shoehorning them into someone else's movie would be a bad idea. Let the Fantastic 4 director actually cast their own cast.
Where has Tom Holland said that he wants to keep filming Spider-Man through 2026? That would require committing to 5 solo films and 5 Disney films, due to Sony's desired pace and the way their agreement works.

No it wouldn't.

The FF brand is at it's lowest and they need to be introduced in other films first to help get audiences forget their previous crappy films. Instantly throwing a FF film out there will result in failure no matter how good it is if you don't them up first.

The problem with Peyton List is that she looks like a teenager. Even if she were, say, 25 now, but she looked like that, she would still look too young.

It's not just the actual age but how one looks too. Jessica Alba looked older at 23 than some other people.

In Arrow, when it first began, Willa Holland was actually older by a few months than Emily Bett Rickards, but was playing much younger. That's because Willa had a teenaged look about her and Emily looked more mature.

I've come across some women in their late twenties who make a fuss about not wanting a guy much older than them, but then don't realise they actually look about 10-15 years older than they actually are. :hehe:

It's a great idea imo. It's an easier way to segue them into the MCU and it's easier for the audience as well. I could easily imagine Johnny being a supporting character for Spider-Man 3 being the "new kid" at Midtown and at the very end - we see Sue picking him up from school.

And he said it here https://screenrant.com/tom-holland-spider-man-homecoming-contract-decades/

He is still 5 years younger than both Tobey and Garfield when they did their first movie. I want to see him play the part as long as Downey Jr. As Holland said - Peter starts out as a 15 year old kid and ends as a 35 year old man. No need to recast with someone else

Maybe Peter will web Reed up somewhere and put the moves on young Sue himself. :o

Spider-Man meeting the Fantastic Four is my most anticipated meeting in the MCU. I hope they do it like in Amazing#1 where he tries to join the Four.

I think Tony Stark will likely bite the dust in Avengers 4, and I wonder if Reed could replace Tony as Peter's mentor.

If a Fantastic Four film was made in the 80's Harrison Ford & Michelle Pfieffer would've made the perfect Reed Richards and Sue Storm.

No it wouldn't.

Case in point:

Yes, Spider-Man was fine. But in the exact same movie, they saddled the Black Panther franchise with Chadwick Boseman, who 99% of critics have nothing positive to say about while praising Michael B. Jordan, the actresses, and the general idea of Wakanda.
I can't think of when it made a film better to not let the director do the casting.

There will be no chance of that if Peter is hitting on Sue because she's the same age as him. :o

Unless Reed says "You two kids have fun together. I'll just be the mentor."

She did. That’s why we have other people to flesh them out better than their own creators. People didn’t give a damn about the X-Men until Chris Claremont came around, and Deadpool was merely a more talkative Slade Wilson. Heck, in terms of non-comics, Mickey Mouse didn’t become an actual character until those new Paul Rudish shorts came about.

Johnny Storm and Sue could show in Spider-Man 3

And Spidey could show up in an F4 flick.

Not that I care who really gets the role but how is that a hindrance? RDJ and Reynolds were in their near 40s-early 40s when they started their roles and they’ve done fine.

Ahhhh the old "Charlize Theron isn't too old to play Captain Marvel" argument (Spoiler, they cast an actress 14 years younger than Theron to play Carol.)

Actually to date, the oldest actress in a superheroine role that they've ever cast was a then 35 year old Zoe Saldana. Scarlet Johansen was cast at 25, Elizabeth Olsen at 24, Evangeline Lilly also at 35, Pom Klementief at 29, Tessa Thompson at 33, Brie Larson at 27. The average Marvel Heroine was first filmed at age 29.

I'd hate to be a bubble buster, but I think the actress who plays Sue Storm will be born in the 1990s.

Scarlett was 25?! She always looked and sounded older than her age. It felt like she never aged.
