Feige salivating from the mouth that he gets to make his Sue Richards solo.

He's said nothing that would even hint at that. If anything he's been more vocal about looking forward to the X-Men.

Didn't Aunt Petunia turn out to be this really young and attractive aunt in the comics when they met her? I don't know if someone has a panel of it they can post.

But one hot aunt is probably enough with Aunt May.

Yes, but as much as I like John Byrne, I think that was a mistake. She should be apocryphal in my opinion.

Agreed.

And why is Reed wearing a blond wig? Oh yes, it's because he draws everyone exactly the same and that's meant to be Johnny. :o

I definitely wouldn’t be upset if Reed got the gig. He did wonders with Antman and the wasp I reckon.

Hey what do you think about Alex Borstein as the Thing’s Aunt Petunia.

She’s fantastic on family guy as Lois and she’s getting a lot of critical attention for the marvellous maisal. She would be so great in an origin scene where she’s driving reed and Ben to school and teaches them the term “it’s clobbering time”!

I really like this idea, especially Ben getting clobbering time from her. She could even be an air-force pilot and Ben adored her so much that he followed in her footsteps. It would explain why he mentions her so much if she was a constant positive force in his life growing up.

Just out of curiosity, what were some aspects that weren’t popular about the X-Men films? The lack of comic-accurate costumes? Origins? Anything else?

I hated that story! It was so freakin' unnecessary, not to mention ridiculous. But that describes so much of Byrne's run. (Lyja, Malice, the female Thing, etc.)

Lyja is probably my least favorite thing ever. Now that you mention it, you're right and I never really thought of it before. I liked Byrne's stories, but he did throw a lot of unnecessary and annoying elements like those into them.

Ideally I'd like Doom to be introduced as an after credit scene in Avengers 4, with him discovering one of the Avengers is a Skrull. Then in the F4 movie feature him as a reluctant ally as he needs Reed to help stop a threat to Latveria. I'd hold off on revealing more about the Skrull infiltration and drag it out Thanos style. I'd like the first villain to be Mole-man and see the F4 and Doom battling giant monsters and setup the Negative Zone as the premise for F42. Have Doom appear as a full on bad guy in another Avengers movie. And build up a Skrull plot showing Doom investigating over several movies.

I don't think they should have a Skrull plot and a Doom plot running concurrently, because that will pull it in two completely different directions. People will also want to know about the Skrull plot more, which will draw it away from Doom.

Let them set up Doom first and all the cosmic side, and then later introduce the Skrulls.

Do you think someone like Reed will pop up in another film before the F4 standalone? sort of like how they did spider-man?

Personally I'd love it if Reed showed up in Ant-Man 3. Pre powers though and have a little nod like him asking Dr. Pym if they can reach that pencil for him :cwink:

I'm crossing my fingers that we'd atleast get Reed or the whole 4 for a surprise A4 mid credits scene.

Well Reed already did just fine behind-the-cameras with the first two Ant-Man films so why not try his hand for a cameo in front of the camera?

But don't you think Reed would be stretching himself too thin?:sly:

I could see Peyton Reed going for FF. But I think it's interesting to maybe have Faverau give a go for it. I think the 1st IM is still better than most of the MCU.

I could see him getting name dropped like “in a scientific thesis by doctor Richards...”. Same as Charles Xavier. I reckon he will pop up first, probably as a talking head,

Yeah and to be honest I think there’s enough roles for hot young aunts to be honest as you said

Yeah, I think something like this might have already been filmed. There's no real legal restriction preventing them from filming something like that - the only concern would be that Fox might sue them when the film comes out.

Since this has been in the works for a while, Feige could have briefed the Russos on how he intended to introduce mutants and the FF if/when they got the rights, and they could have penciled some dialogue that would be consistent with that as alternate takes/scenes that could either be used or left on the cutting-room floor depending on the situation during editing.

It may be unlikely that they went to that extent, but there wouldn't be any real legal barriers preventing them from filming some alternate takes.

I had a similar thought. Cut to a cable news show ..... "And here's Dr. Reed Richards to talk to the "mutant" phenomenon that's sweeping the world" or something along those lines. 2 birds, one stone.

Or how about "Dr. Reed Richards and Dr. Charles Xavier to talk about the "mutant" phenomenon...:woot:

And the thing with that is it would be really easy. They could record it as a simple voice-over the day before the final edit, and it could be subtle - in the background of another scene.

They could even make it so faint that it doesn't stand out, but someone would catch it and post it online, and the internet would explode. It would be the ultimate Easter Egg sparking organic viral marketing.

How about Reed Richards and Charles Xavier on a talk show with John Byrne discussing why Reed looks exactly like Charles when he takes off his wig? :o
