Maybe Micheal Chiklis can stay as Ben Grimm but have him stay in his rock form.

But recast the other 3.

No to Chiklis as Grimm. I didn't like him in the role. I don't think he's good enough for the humour either. And he seems too pale and white when he should be more Jewish.

If there were anyone I would want them to keep from the Story movies, it would be Ioan Gruffudd. He is much more like Reed in every other thing he's been in except for Fantastic Four. And he's far more suitable now as Reed than he was back then.

One of my problems with Blunt as Sue is that whenever I see her in a role I don't see the character she's playing, I see Emily Blunt. She's at the point in her career where she's so popular that it's hard to see the characters she plays instead of seeing Emily Blunt.
It's a similar problem I have with actors such as Tom Cruise, I don't see the character I see Tom Cruise.

That's why Edge of Tomorrow is such a milestone for people thinking of those two differently.
Blunt wasn't seen as an action star if at all before that.
Everyone fancasting her as Black Widow point to that.
Cruise was playing an aging non-combatant major thrown into the trenches.

Weird. I never thought of her as being so ubiquitous that her presence alone required more suspension of disbelief from me or something like it. I’m still of a mind that she has all the right qualities to be Mary Poppins and certainly The Invisible Woman.

Now, if we were talking about, I don’t know, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, that’s a different story...

Emily Blunt could be a good Sue Storm in terms of playing the more menancing/intimidating side to her character in which she’s this badass most-powerful member of the team that you would least want to get on their bad side.

But in terms of the caring, nurturing side of her character that essentially acts as the teams ‘glue’ that sticks them together — that part of the character I have a lot of trouble seeing Blunt play convincingly. She’s a very talented actress no question but she just doesn’t encompass all the qualities that Sue should have.

It’s the tricky part of casting comic book characters. You can have actors who could perfectly capture one facet of the character but they aren’t able to capture the other facets. If Ryan Reynolds was cast as Spider-Man he could probably easily nail the quippy, wise-cracking side of Spider-Man in spades but Reynolds would probably be a terrible fit for the character if you’re casting him as the down-on-his luck Peter Parker since Reynolds probably wouldn’t be able to play the relatable everyman aspects that an actor needs to have to do the character complete justice. He’s also too tall( He’s 6’2 while comic Peter is about 5’10) and too distractingly “movie-star handsome’ for Peter Parker even if could make for a good Spider-Man he would probably make for a horrible Peter Parker. This is why you have to cast someone who can do all the aspects of the character justice.

Within the same year she starred in Edge of Tomorrow, she was in Into the Woods as the Baker's Wife.
She's playing Mary Poppins because she's qualified.

Blunt’s popular? She’s a well known figure in the film circles but is she really generally popular? Regardless, it’s all a matter of opinion but I have seen films where she is very nurturing and loving. Whether you do see her in that kind of role is obviously subjective but that’s my opinion.

Getting Blunt as Sue is like getting someone like Jaime Alexander as Wonder Woman.

Sure, Alexander could do the warrior side of Wonder Woman. She might even try to play the nurturing side of Diana. But take one look at her face compared to Gal Gadot. Gal naturally encompasses that radiant, caring and nurturing side in her face without any effort. She just looks that way. Alexander, by comparison, looks more miserable.

Can Blunt potentially play someone more nurturing? Sure. But will she look it? Her face just looks colder and harder, and often more sour. She will never look as caring and nurturing and joyful as someone like Lily James as Sue.

^ She really does look miserable there. She just has that face in general. Those gifs are definitely more proof she's not right for Sue.

For the record, I wasn’t too crazy about Alexander for the role. I didn’t have anyone in particular for Wonder Woman, except maybe Olivia Wilde, but I’m glad with who we got. Gadot is one of the best superhero castings in history.

You mentioned Lily James is caring and joyful but I haven’t seen enough from her to convince me she can also be intimating and vengeful, at least from my experiences so don’t take that as me saying you’re wrong. I’ve seen both aspects from Blunt for me to make her my ideal choice.

At the end of the day, it’s all speculation. It’s just fancasting. If she doesn’t get the part, I’d be disappointed for like an hour before moving onto more important things in my life.

Vengeful is hardly what I'd call Sue. She may have been that way once but it's not her primary trait. Nor is being intimidating. That might be Malice more, but not something that is a regular part of Sue.

It's like WW. Can she be a bloodthirsty warrior? Sure. But that's only one aspect of her that is secondary and relatively small compared to being about love and diplomacy, and caring and nurturing. Some people did want a much tougher WW. That's why they wanted these MMA fighters like Gina Carano or Ronda Rousey. We got a tougher WW with Adrianne Palicki and she often ran around with a scowling ***** face which was not becoming at all.

Lily James has shown a more warrior side in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. She doesn't need to do that regularly though because that's not Sue's dominant trait. On the qualities that matter most, she has that in spades.

Ok, not vengeful, per se, but she can be terrifying if you hurt the people she loves, or at least her kids. And yeah, that’s not a dominant trait but you need someone to pull off the two sides when the time comes for each. And like I said, I haven’t seen enough of James’ work to judge whether she’s right or wrong for Sue so you could be right. I’m just going by my instincts.

I'll be honest, guys. I don't even think Blunt has the right look for Sue. I want someone with softer features. Someone cuter and more approachable like Lily James

Emily Blunt is a great actress but everything I've seen her in, I've never been blown away or a fan of her character. For whatever reason, so with that I don't like the idea of her as Sue

I wouldn’t mind James in a slightly younger line-up but, mainly, I’m on opposite take; I want an actress and actor who look, well, more mature for the The Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic. Helps lean into the whole “original family” thing.

Yeah I’m hoping for a more mature reed and sue too. I always kind of hate it when sue has two kids that are like 8 and 3 and yet she herself looks like she’s just 18.

She should be one of the grande dames of the MCU

^ Definitely don't want something like that for Reed. That would be terrible. He looks more like the Molecule Man if anything.

Molecule man would be fun! It would be cool to do secret wars to unite the foxverse and the mcu and the molecule man was a huge part of that

Sexy bearded scientist-adventurer Reed > twerpy geek

Ha yeah same.

And if there was a choice between Krasinski and Issac I would choose Issac. Especially if there’s a dancing scene

David Harbour of Stranger Things the new Hellboy I would have him play Ben Grimm

Reed Richards I would go with Timothy Olyphant

Sue Storm I would go with Emily Blunt

Johnny Storm I would go with Zac Efron

If it is an older cast

Younger cast I would go with

Reed Richards- Joseph Gordon Levitt
Ben Grimm- John Cena
Sue Storm- Blake Lively
Johnny Storm- Dacre Montgomery

I don’t love or hate Emily Blunt as Sue. I have a feeling I’ll love whoever Marvel comes up with.
