I wonder if mcu reed will have the greying hair? I kind of like dilf reed so I hope they don’t loose it

It's a part of the characters design and the one thing I don't think will change. Even if they change Reed's race he'd still have the grey in his hair.

Doctor Strange still has the grey temples in the movies so I expect Reed to have grey temples in the MCU as well.

I think we might get an X-Men related film, like maybe a Cyclops or Storm film, relatively soon, but I don't think they're going to do a full-ensemble X-Men film any time soon.

I think they'll gradually introduce the concept of mutants and characters first. So I think a true FF film will come sooner than a true X-Men film, but they may be laying the groundwork for both soon.
True, and F4 requires less groundwork ahead of a full team film.

What do you think about the fantastic four starting in their future foundation outfits? I think it suits a more optimistic tone, differentiates it from previous adaptions and I really like ben’s muscle shirt more than just undies.

Plus, they gave Spider-Man his future foundation look in the latest Spider-Man game and it looks amazing!

I don't like Ben Grimm's look from that costume. He looks like he's wearing a wife beater vest. This is especially so because it's white. He looks like he could've been lazing around on the sofa drinking beer in that.

I would like to get these as well as blue outfits, sure.

If you believe the latest 4chan rumour a MCU fantastic four movie will be announced later this year for 2020 or 2021. Will be announced at the same time the Fox acquisition completes. 2020 seems unrealistic imo they would have to start filming by June or July at the latest tho coincidently that's when the deal is expected to close. That would also mean they would have to be working on a script right now under the table and already have a cast in mind. Maybe f4 could end up being the third 2020 movie who knows.

Its not exactly impossible that they *have* been working on a script under the table. After all, its not like they need any actual Fox involvement to do such. They've also had quite a bit of forewarning that "This is going to happen, barring disastrous outside factors that would have a lot worse effects than just a useless script".

I'd bet just about anything that 2020 won't happen. 2021, maybe.

Somebody on here had noted that Marvel has a release date scheduled for November 2021 and that will mark the 60th anniversary of FF #1. How perfect would that be?

But at this point all I hope is they do plan to make an FF film relatively soon. I can wait several years if necessary as long as it's coming at some point.

There is no 3rd movie for 2020, the July date was taken off the calendar. It's just May & November, being Black Widow & either Eternals or Dr Strange 2 (whichever takes November 2020, the other will likely be February 2021).

It takes a minimum of 2 years to make these films. To get an F4 film out for summer 2020 they would have needed to hire a director & writers last summer, and they'd be deep in pre-production right now, casting would have to be well underway, to start filming this summer. You can't keep all of that under wraps, it would be all over the trades.

May or November 2021 is possible, depending on when the deal is completed.

I'm no expert on these big contracts but I'm pretty sure it would be illegal for Marvel to start hiring people to develop a movie they don't have the rights to.

And I know the Russo's had a draft of the CW script with Spidey included before the Sony deal went through, but I don't think that's the same. That wasn't a Spider-Man film, and if the deal didn't go through they could leave him out, no harm and no one would be any the wiser.

Marvel could've been having private conversations with different people. Why would trades have to know about it? Even people who meet with Marvel are usually bound by confidentiality.

What is possible is that Peyton Reed, for example, could be working on a script on his own time "for fun", and Feige may have given him a wink and a nod regarding him getting the project (if it's good enough) after the deal closes.

But most likely Feige is roughing out where an FF film would fit and gauging interest from various writers and directors and maybe giving those writers and directors an idea of what he wants, but that's probably as far as anything has gone and 2020 has a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Maybe Marvel will say they're barely thinking about the FF at all, and if anything, they just have a few rough ideas sketched out of where they might like to go. Then once the deal is completed, they'll whip out a detailed finish script and announce a director and a cast.

I suppose it's the opposite of Edgar Wright's approach where he says he has a detailed script ready to go, and then when it comes down to filming, he's barely got more than a few post-it-notes with some indecipherable scribblings on it. :o

I imagine theyve been working on scripts for the F4/X-Men quietly in the background since early 2018. Theres no way they havent been. Or at least since DOJ approval last summer.

I bet there’s a ton of writers who would love the honour of writing a proper FF movie. I just wish we knew who some of them are

Private conversations (which I have no doubt have gone on over the past year) are not remotely the same as actually green lighting a $150m-$200m production. Which is what would have needed to happen last summer-winter in order to get an F4 film out for 2020. The trades always get wind of what projects are imminent and what directors are up for them.

It's a moot conversation point because:
1) the 2020 slate is already full, and
2) Marvel do not have the rights to F4 yet.

What is possible is that Peyton Reed...

I very much doubt it. But, again, even if they have, they don't have directors, so they can't make 2020.
We heard a Black Widow director shortlist back in April, before Shortland was announced in July. BW will be the May 2020 film.
We got an announcement of Chloe Zhao for Eternals in September, and Derrickson officially signed on to Dr Strange 2 in December. Those are the next 3 films after Far From Home. May & November 2020, and February 2021.

Captain marvel is doing really well with the viral advertising at the moment. Does anyone have any good ideas for fantastic four viral marketing? I think tickets to a latverian trade fair would be fun

In my version, Reed Richards had a TV show called 'Mr. Fantastic's Super-Science Show' or something like that where he taught kids about science, akin to Bill Nye. Releasing a few short segments from that of Reed showing off some rad science knowledge in his lab would be fun. (Also in my version, the show went off the air like 9 years ago, so in those old segments Reed still has all his brown hair, but in the present day when the movie takes place he's rocking his trademark skunk-streaks.)

I'd have some for each of the FF:

Johnny Storm vlogs using his actor and create fake social media accounts for the character.

I like DawnWarrior's idea for Reed, release clips from the fake show on Youtube like it was real.

For Ben something to do with Yancy Street and the Yancy Street gang.

Sue's depends on the direction they want to go with the character.

I love that! I also think it would be cool for them to send out four badges, the kind that reed presses on his suit as a communicator

Who do you think the MCU guest star for FF will be?

I wouldn't mind it being Hank & Janet but that might not move the needle enough.

Spider-Man. He's the hero closest with the team in comics, they're like his second family so it would make sense for it to be him.

As long as the rights allow for that then I'm sure most would be very happy with that. I want to see Johnny Storm and Parker as buddies (maybe Bobby Drake too).
