He discovered his true potential in Xmen-Forever. By the High Evolutionary iirc

Where the hell have you been?.. Iceman has always been powerful... Way, before and after Emma. The only thing she did while occupying his body was crawl across the ground without legs, and torso sticking out. Merge with water, and repair her chest after being shot... No biggie.

And while we're on the topic, you're wrong about her showing him his true potential. It was Mikhail Rasputin (Colossus' brother) that showed him his potential back in Uncanny #292.

Iceman was always a favorite of mine.

And javon, to answer your question Iceman was the second classified as Omega. It was in the same issue that Jean was.

[edit] This thought crossed my mind the other night, but should rogue be considered at omega level when/if she borrows the abilities of an omega mutant. I mean, for that short period of time she has full access to their powers. Whether or not she uses them to their full potential (i.e. Iceman) she would still technically have omega level powers.

Imagine if she ever got the ability to recall any template at any given time back. She could recall both Bobby and Jean's power, possibly at the same time, and kick it omega style.

I don't remember X-Treme all that well so what issue was it that she used both Iceman's and Jean's power? Cause I know during that time she had that ability, that's why I said if she got it back.
