On The Road Again: Way Talks "Ghost Rider"

That sounds familiar. Anybody here familiar with a tv series called Brimstone?

Flamehead, there is the answer to the question you posed during our last discussion.

However it poses a new question. Marvels character profile clearly says JB is bonded back to Zarathos, but as we see here it says spirit of vengeance.
Of course JB's GR was originally refered to as being the spirit of vengeance, but I thought they had currently made a distinction.........

Yeah, I'm pretty sure any reference to any of the Ghost Riders will be Spirit of Vengeance. Zarathos or not.

Personally, I really hope it's not Zarathos and not just because I'm a bigger fan of the latter version. I just think it would be redundant and quite silly to have the same thing happen to Blaze as it did in the past. To me, it's just as well they reprint the first series if they do that.

I just read through the profile in the Marvel Handbook (Marvel Knights edition) that came out last year and it too says that Blaze was somehow bonded back with Zarathos (for the Hammercrap series at least) and one of the last things is says is that Blaze and Zarathos came to terms with each other and bonded in a way they never have. Does this sound silly to anyone else? Why in the hell would Blaze come to terms with a demon he completly hates and has fought on numerous occasions, both within himself and as a different entity. It just doesn't make sense.

Yeah, that is probably the case

I can understand why you say that, kinda like when Burnforever said it shouldn't be noble because it was good but already legend and should be something else. Although, aside from the fact that I think Zarathos was just awesome as GR, I think its cool and makes sense if Mephisto is like: You can't get out of a deal with me, your soul is mine.....PERIOD, and this is the way you'll live 'till I get it.

LOL
But really, I always thought they could've taken Blaze story much further and I'm hoping thats what they do. Besides, If you say that, then that would mean you also think there should be no more Ketch/Noble stuff because then they might as well just reprint his original run.

Yeah, when I first read that it hit me the same way but I think they mean that since in hammer lane Blaze kinda came to appreciate the demon within and was yearning for the old times and the open road they obviously have a different understanding. Though I admit it is a tad rediculous for Blaze to end up feeling that way. Sure, one of us could easily appreciate that :D
but it is hard to believe the Blaze we know ever could. However I think that is what they mean. I guess, just like with everybody else, as you get older your views and whatnot can change.

I can totally understand your thinking behind this and I have to agree with it. Mephisto has Blaze by the balls and can pretty much do what he wants... and we all know how Meph likes to play.

I agree that Blaze could indeed have Zarathos again because, let's face it, Meph has him by the balls too and has for millions of years.

The thing is, it's not Noble that I necessarily want, or Dan for that matter (Albeit, I'd love to know what happened to the frigger). It's the history that was developed. I want the Ghost Rider entity to be part of that legacy. I want him to be that noble knight of vengeance not the evil spirit of causing human suffering.

What I'd truly love to see is, if Blaze has Zarathos, to have Dan (or some other host) still have the Spirit of Vengeance. This way, Blaze's story could truly be a Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde story and we'd still have the honerable Ghost Rider. Wouldn't that be an incredible story? Dan, Blaze, Brothers working together to defeat a spirit withing Blaze. Zarathos, Ghost Rider fighting to the bitter end, neither one of them really ever winning.[/QUOTE]

I can see your line of thinking there and with Way saying he will touch on Dan at some point, they may have something like that in mind. It is an interesting idea for a storyline, I'll admit. However, for me, my inherant opposition to there being more than 1 GR prevents me from endorsing that and if there were a choosing of the "best" GR, obviously I would go for Zarathos. This brings to mind U Orb's story of a confrontation. If they do go with something like your idea, I'd like to see U Orb's in there as well, with the same outcome :D

Hey guys, sorry about the no replys or posting anything since my issue #94, however upon veiwing IGN august previews for Marvel, I must say that the upcoming Ghost Rider agust cover is by far the greatest Ghost Rider cover art ive ever seen in my life. period. ( sprits of vegengeance issue #2 comes in a close second ) which brings up the topic of, what's your favorite Ghost Rider cover Art?

I just had to shoot another reply really fast, but GOT DAMN... Rider has the devil laid out on the ground in a Freaking pool of blood, standing over him looking up to the heavens above with a blood stain chain in hand.
P.S Tex fly to England asap so you can be Knighted as the best damn Artist to ever lived lol

what an great pic...the devil laid out in pool of blood w/ GR standing over him.
never thought i would see that...heh
artwork looks awesome too...so much cool GR stuff coming out..its gonna be hard to keep track of it all!

Damn we already have cover for issues but we dont have any comics. Can't wait until July!

Question:

Is the miniseries going to end up as a ongoing series or are we going to get robbed from another one?

Great cover, Tex is god.
But..Lucifer? I'm not really much in Marvel very confusional demonology, but wasn't that only another appearance of Mephisto?

GHOST RIDER # 2
The Story: “VICIOUS CYCLE”
Johnny Blaze has escaped from Hell--but unfortunately, he wasn’t alone: Lucifer has once again played Johnny for a fool and used him to hitch a ride onto the mortal plane. The Ghost Rider must now track down Lucifer and send him back to where he came from before the Devil succeeds in creating a new Hell...here on earth. This is no small task, but it is further complicated by both the fact that Lucifer hides behind many faces and that there are those—one very strange man, in particular—who would prefer Ghost Rider cease his mission immediately...or else. Part 2 (of 6).

Wait a minute here, God damn: this isn´t the new ONGOING GR series?!
What´s the 2 of 6 thing?!
Not again...
:down

Calm down, six part story arcs are very common in today's marvel ongoning series(heck iron man and wolverine seems to go on only by story arcs..)... probably this is the start story arc...

Could be, however if it is truly an ongoing, shouldn't we be able to subscribe to it by now?

its possible the new series is only "tentative"...they may just want to see how it does first before they commit any more issues after 6.
but im hoping that was said earlier its just a 6 part story arc...ill try and send Javier S. a PM, he might be able to give us a definitive answer

I'm pretty sure this is ongoing. It is promoted as ongoing anyway. I'm sure they have a contract to do so many issues but, I assume it's far more than 6. At least a year.

yup..Javier S. just confirmed it in a PM. that was quick! :)
he said it was just a story arc and it is ongoing....as long as people buy it. so to quote the man "BUY, BUY, BUY!!!!" heh

Jarv is awesome. I'm so happy he's back on board the Ghost Rider train... whatever that means.

Thanks for the update BG. I'll be buying, buying, buying. No doubt about that.

Wow. Marvel.com is way out of touch with things. Jan 1st? That's nutty. The 1st is a Monday for one thing...
