"One Universe" Marvel & DC Crossover RPG!

The Darkseid invasion is the perfect event to band a team together.

Precisely what I was thinking. It took White Martians invading for Morrison's Big Seven to really get together. it took an alliance of supervillains for the Avengers to re-form. Something like an interstellar invasion of Earth is absolutely perfect for team-ups, hero and villain alike.

As to the name of the sueprhero team, I really like the League of Avengers.

"One Universe" RPG SIGN-UP FORM

Screen Name: I..... don't know...:(

Character you would like to play and a brief description of his/her powers and Bio: The Lizard. The Lizard possesses a number of superhuman powers endowed by his reptilian form, including his superhuman strength. His powerful leg muscles enable him to clear 12 feet in a standing high jump and 18 feet in a standing broad jump. His alligator-like hide is tougher than human skin, and is capable of resisting the penetration of small caliber bullets. His reaction time is about twice that of the normal human being and he can run at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour.

The Lizard possesses a 6.5-foot tail, which he can whip at speeds up to 70 miles per hour. Like a gecko, his hands and feet have retractable 1-inch hooks growing from the base of his palm and the ball of his foot, and his fingers and toes are covered with scores of tiny claws to create adhesive pads. As a result, the Lizard can support his weight climbing up and down normally intractable surfaces.

When the Lizard, the R-complex of Connors' brain (the most primitive region of the human brain containing the most bestial drives) takes over the cerebellum, causing Connors' mind to become progressively inhuman. The Lizard gains a quasi-telepathic ability to communicate with and command all reptiles within about a one-mile radius of himself.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1. Lizards are cool. Much cooler than ninjas.

2. You need villains, I'm bringing in one of the most interesting.

3. Um.... Rrarrr? :)

What can you bring to this game? The majesty that is Superferret.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As much as i can.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards: Yes.

Avengers League or League of Avengers is sweet  (I prefer Avengers League)

I can imagine it now... Avengers League...ASSEMBLE!!

Figgers... I post my application and there's nobody around to accept it. :(

You are accepted Super Ferret.

Looking forward to seeing the Lizard  (Thats such a great character to choose, good job)

Sweet. A spidy villain.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a Spidey villain, oh the joys of having one universe :p

Very true. (btw thanks S*)

But don't worry Q, I'm sure the Lizard will stop in NYC. After he's done with Metropolis...

Anytime SF...now go forth and multiply!! (or something similar)

First post up.

BTW it would seem logical that I also do the origin for the second Dr. Mid-Nite, as Dr. Cross is present for Conners' experiment. (Once I found he was known for limb-grafts, it was necessary to use him.) So, if anyone is/was/will be interested in playing him, I've got it covered.

Whats the policy on playing 2 characters in this RPG? I really, really, want to play Doctor Doom (Since Magneto is taken...damn you Rex...damn youuuuu!!) If I got to play Doom, I would change his motives...he wouldn't be acting out of spite for Reed Richards...he'd only be acting out of his own self interest and ambitions of ruling the world...and i would really get into the sorcery side of Doom...show how he gets more powerful through the use of black magic and spells. Also I wouldn't have Reed even know that Doctor Doom is infact Victor Von Doom..this way Doom won't bother himself with Reed and vice versa. This Doom would be more interested in taking over the world, then revenge.

To put it in mild terms...Batman is one lucky mother****er. :o

As far as my choice,I choose Catwoman, out of sheer curiousity...Considering you yourself have said that you are nothing like her. It'd be an interesting test of your abilities as an RPGer.

Oh,and Catwoman is teh sexxxy. :o
Thanks now I'm questioning myself..Catwoman was such a good idea last night..:(

Right well..either way I'm gonna need JRK's input. :(
Since for either character I'm gonna need his help. :(

The thing is that my knowledge of both is sketchy. I'd be playing them from the beginning *as always*

The Question said:
No, they should merge the two names, because the Justice League peole would suggest "Justice League", and the Avengers people would suggest "Avengers", so they would want to come to a comprimise.

The Question said:
There could easily be a Justice League/Avengers fusion of sorts. But what would the name be?

Avengers League?

Justice Avengers?

Avengers of Justice?

As for LibrarianThorne's great idea for the Apokolips Invasion i really like it. Brings all the heros together Following the Aftermath of the invasion as other ssuggested the worlds heros form a group.

As for a name...

League of heroes
Knights of Justice

Yeah maybe we shouldnt have established groups yet. This way Leagues and whatnot can be formed with characters from both universes without compromising continuity

I dont think i know what you mean

Yeah me either.

Its a tough descision but I think we should make a definete choice one way or the other on establishing characters. If its not established that will leave alot of grey area to be argued over. I understand everyone wants to rewrite their origins and everything, I did too. But what if someone tried to sign up as Nightwing tomorrow...would we reject them because Batman just got started?

Maybe at some point we should wrap up the origin arcs and jump ahead to current continuity?

If someone wants Nightwing, they could just make him separate from Batman.

I agree...I like having the flexibility to experiment with our characters away from continuity...it makes everything more fun and interesting, and lets us be more creative

Good point.

Are you a pessimist rex26? IM just curious because you act like a grey area is a bad thing. This whole RPG is based on a grey area of "what if" the universes were one. It's that same grey area that gives us all the ability to make our characters the way we want them to be.

As for the rejection of Nightwing or other characters I ask you to look at a few of the newest members. We did not reject Scarecrow because Batman had first started, nor did we reject The Lizard because Spider-Man (see i care enough to hyphenate it, heh) had just started out. All the person had to do was create an alternate backstory or, in both cases not even interact with that character. Nightwing doesnt have to be the original Robin either, he could be someone completely different. Think a little larger and outside the metal box.

(I swear that wasnt suppose to sound as assholish as it did)

Not at all. And you didn't come across that way. I agree with you guys 100% its just Id rather get these kind of descisions out in the air now so that they can't be argued further along the line.

Ive seen my fair share of arguments tear apart an RPG. Im just trying to do everything I can to make that doesnt happen here. Its not like Im advocating current continuity, these are just ideas im throwing out to discuss, ok?

I was thinking, to tie the universes together, and create potential storyline possibilites in the future, why don't we have the cosmic storm that the FF are about to run into be created by some higher power in the Marvel or DC universe? Make it so it was planned as opposed to being a freak accident? Is there a character being played right now that has the potential to do something like that? like Darkseid maybe? Or is it out of his league? Is there a higher DC power that could have done it, if Darkseid can't?

Darkseid could theoretically do it using tech he has, but it's something more along the lines that his enemy, Highfather would do. Highfather recieves instructions and leadership directly from the Source, a version of DC's God. The Source might have instructed Highfather to use Mother Boxes to make the cosmic radiation drift into the FF shuttle, potentially to add to the heroes that will be able to oppose Darkseid.

This gives us a new take on the FF origin as well as tying them into cosmic events that are going on. What do you think?
