"One Universe" Marvel & DC Crossover RPG!

Mutants and Masterminds RPG

Found it...and yeah they didn't allow the Mainstream DC/Marvel characters but still....I'm not to keen on having Biggs Darklighter or He-Man running around in the same RPG as Zatanna or Spider-Man.

True having a Hellboy would be fun, but we're gonna end up with players asking to play weird characters.

The Puppeteer from Freshman, Beowulf, Season of the Witch, Aspen, Ruse, Aorwyn...list goes on and on...it's opening Pandoras box.

First off, Biggs and He-Man were not originally comic characters, which would be a requirement. Second, the added question to the application would give the GMs a way to weed out characters that wouldn't fit the "superheroic" tone this game has already.

Still leaves this group:

The Puppeteer from Freshman, Beowulf, Season of the Witch, Aspen, Ruse, Aorwyn...Astro City *that as it's own RPG would be cool* Supreme Power..Watchman...Tom Strange...list goes on and on...it's opening Pandoras box.

Would some of them be fun to play? Yes, but it would take more structure on the GM level to figure out how the universes connect and overlap.

I think their are more than enough characters to choose from in Marvel and DC. No real need to further complicate things by opening the door for other comic book characters. If anything, I think doing something like this would confuse the flow of the game rather than encouraging new players.

If we want to encourage new members to join, I'd say scrap the two character policy. When someone can play as Venom AND Johnny Storm, or Spider-Man AND The Joker, that's two popular characters being taken by one player. Many times, someone will be curious about an RPG, and check it out. But if they can't play as one of their favourite characters, they will lose interest and not bother joining.

Well if your referring to me and Purple Man, I stepped down reluctantly let him have Hal.

No, it's not about you and Purple Man.

It's as a whole, when the two player thing went into effect over in Marvel RPG it was combated against with the same thinking.

I am more than willing to drop one of my characters, *Okay, kind of a lie.....* But I wouldn't fight it since I'm not a huge fan of one player/two characters.

But I think this RPG should be squarly stuck with DC/Marvel and other options pursued to recruit.

Or..why even worry about recruiting?
We've got anough characters to do something with now.

Also because its both DC and Marvel there are many more (fair quotes) "popular characters" for people to play.

Okay, a few things....Why not cut Creed altogether?
Apparently her *****ing will never end, so I'll go ahead and cut myself.....from this RPG. I don't care if my RPG style isn't deathly serious and I am sorry I have a sense of humor. Oh well, this will give me more time to focus on the Ultimate RPG. And now Twylight can shut up and maybe this RPG can actually get goin again.

Now that was both uncalled for and out of order. If you have resivations about other players you speak to me or another AGM. Got it. twy comments as far as i'm concerned had nothing to do with her wanting you to leave.

Now I suggest you edit that last post and perhapes reconsider your decision.

Okay, a few things....Why not cut Creed altogether?
The Mod's can change the thread starter to the OneUniverseRPG account.
I know because I asked about it over for the multiverse and it IS possible.

This would allow the GM's to do it on their own, OC is worried about so many people being able to edit the roster, but I don't think he should be, because in my experience, no one does anyway. :p

OK first off that was just rude. I'm not going to cut ANY player unless its absolutly necisary, I didnt cut LT, even after all of that controversy, I just told him there were some rules he would have to abide by, same as I did with Creed. And UNLIKE LT, Creed understood, acepted it like a gentleman, and steped down from his GM position. So for you to tell me that I should cut him, when you got SO offensive about me even setting rules for LT, is jus rude.

As far as allowing multiple people to have acces editing the first page, I dont want that until I have gotten to know my GMs a bit better, in wich time when a certain level of trust has been built up I will do something similar to that, but remember this is a NEW RPG and its still in its building phases.

As I have been typing this Creed just informed me that he posted his resignation! JUST GREAT! Creed man, dont leave. I've got so much planed for Wolvie and Sabretooth, dont let harasment of others get you down bro. smile :) be happy!

Okay, I'm going to stop this before it starts. Enough of the name-calling! Enough of the walk-outs! If you all put as much energy into the actual RPG as you all do into attacking each other, we'd be soaring!

Victor Creed, I said the same thing to LibrarianThorne. Quitting an RPG is not the way to resolve a situation. It's giving up, taking the easy way out. And it doesn't solve any problems - instead leaving a stink in the air that is never really sorted out. Do I think the whole "Sabretooth peeing off a roof" thing was stupid? Yes. Do I think your replies to LT's criticism were inappropriate? Yes. But I certainly don't want to see another player drop out. I'd much rather we all worked together.

Which brings me to Twylight. Twy, you were instrumental in bringing this conflict under control. So that's why I'm so surprised that you are now playing a part in keeping it going by blocking Olcanucklehead and Victor Creed. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Having a rift in an RPG undermines the game for everyone. I know you're more mature than this.

On a side note,

I liked many of the ideas that Superferret had, but they need to be altered slightly. As far as having people directly from other comics, dont think that would work to well, BUT if we had it as say........people that were ONCE owned or recentlt bought by Marvel or DC than that would be acceptable.

Examples:

The early 1970's KISS comics produced by Marvel, they are now owned by Darkhorse but because Marvel once Owned them they will be allowed.

Darkman, comic was created by Malibu but Marvel now owns the rights as they bought them out a few years ago, He would be allowed.

I was actualy just inteuged by that KISS comic Idea, and had a few ideas on how that could work, anyone interested send me a PM.

I'm not keeping it going.

I know I've been called immature, but I blocked because even not blocked it wasn't going anywhere.

The block is there to block immature posters and I'm sorry but I'm tired of trying to explain nicely, I'm tired of breaking everything down to the elementary level only to have them twist my words around.

I was not involved in any 'conspiracy', I was just saying that because it's what I've observed in this RPG.
When I said 'cut' Creed I didn't mean it meanly or rudely, I only meant that if OC was trying to make things right why leave Creed in any position at all?

Also before ya'll go get your boxers in a bunch I never blocked anyone..I only said that so I wouldn't have to have mad at me because I was 'ignoring' them. Ask SF, MB or Johnny. They know about it. I'm also pretty sure I told Red X too.

I'm tired of answering and combating their posts.

I've read everything that's gone on, why do you think I mentioned getting GA out of the arc? :o

So you havent been blocking us?.........................hmm didnt see that coming, WELL OKALYDOKALY! Twy I have wanted to say to you personaly that I've just wanted to do whats best for the RPG all around. I'm not going to cut anyone exept for the most extreme circumstances. But I do hope we can ALL resolve this conflict easily and without further damage to the RPG. You had always been a tremendous help to me in the RPG and usualy kept a cool head, thats why I was so suprised about the whole blocking and brash comments thing you were doing, I dont know maybe someone personaly offended you, whatever it was I will just be glad to know that you'll be back in full swing again. I did find your idea of something between Zatara and Constantine an interesting idea, and I was realy gona hate to lose that.

1. We should keep this RPG solely Marvel and DC...there are PLENTY of characters and story ideas in those 2 universes alone to keep this RPG going for a long time and the Marvel DC history meshes together so nicely...adding another universe would only confuse things.

2. Don't leave Creed

What about stuff like Wildstorm and Milestone? Would that be acceptable as well?

I suppose it wouldn't have to be too confusing. I believe the rule of thumb seems to be: "If there is something bad going on, Lex Luthor has a hand in it." :D

I dont know anything about them, are they or were they at one time owned by Marvel or DC?

Yeah haha thats true :p

It's just, I don't know how familiar everyone here is with Wildstorm characters and stuff like that...I personally don't know anything about them besides some of their names lol. I just think this RPG flows so nicely because the two universes combined so well, and everyone here knows most of the characters from those universes.

I agree, if your gona try to use an outside character it must be owned or previously owned by either Marvel or DC, and it needs to be a character that not everyone here is like, W. T. F. Mate?

Image? Vertigo? Johnny DC? Top Cow?

:down

We don't need any of that.

If you want that revive the Mutants and Masterminds RPG. Since it's defunct it wouldn't be hard to convert it to allow mainstream characters.

But going by the Kiss argument, someone could argue there way into being "The Doctor"

as there was a Marvel comic series based on the tv show at one point. Personally if i thought I could be The Doctor I would drop Venom in a second.

See the problems?

I'm going to flay SF alive for suggesting it...

Then I'm gonna nurse him to health. :o ;)
