"One Universe" Marvel & DC Crossover RPG!

I've got to put myself with those who think this RPG should stick to the main DC and Marvel Universes. No indie characters. Nothing against the indies, but this game works well with it being solely Marvel and DC. And, as the old saying goes: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Besides, there's literally thousands of characters to choose from already. There's no real need in having the characters of other companies added to the mix.

As for the second character thing, I'm with Soze on that one too. If we want more people to join, even though we aren't really hurting at all for players, just scrap the second character deal. That way it would free up more of the popular characters for newbies to play.
Now, I do say this as I am looking for a second character. Normally I'm against having two characters, but I promised to help out a friend with a second character. So I will swallow my pride, or what have you, and take up a second character to help out.
But, if it is decided that the second character deal will be scraped, I will not mind one bit.

What character are you going to take Johnny? Or is it a secret

I'm going to flay SF alive for suggesting it...

Then I'm gonna nurse him to health. :o ;)

*grumbles*

Even when he does something wrong, He's a lucky bastard.

:p

And as for the DC/Marvel debate, I'm with everyone else, aswell. Those two universes have more than enough characters, many of whom are some of the best and most interesting in comics. To add more seems... pointless.

Am I lost, or wasn't Johnny playing Mordru?

Ok, so my little idea was vetoed by nearly everybody, I can't win them all. (Although with twy nursing me back to health, I guess I will win after all.)

Johnny's taking an extra character.

I know. ;)

I am, but I'm looking into a secondary character.

hmmm...i'm thinking of dropping Reed in favor of an X-men character like Beast or Iceman...what do you guys think?

(I thought it would be bad-ass to start the X-men in this RPG with just the original 5 members, old school style  but they are already being established so that's cool)

Screen Name: Johnny Blaze

Character you would like to play and a brief description of his/her powers and Bio: Dr. Anthony Druid (a powerful mystic, but not in the same vein as Strange or Fate, Druid specializes in the anceint rituals of his Celtic ancestors. Druid also possesses psionic powers enabling him to scan virtually any mind or project his thoughts to anyone on Earth, provided he knows where to reach the mind he seeks. He also possesses the ability to mesmerize people to his will, controlling what they see, hear, or do. This mental domination is only possible over those minds who are less adept than his own. His control over a person (or persons) persists until such time as the subject completes the task he or she was given, until Druid willfully releases him or her, or until the effect of the hypnosis loses its potency (generally a matter of hours for most minds). By means of hypnosis, Druid is able to achieve a number of illusory effects: invisibility, power-bolts, transformation, sudden materialization, etc. He also has certain psychokinetic powers, enabling him to levitate objects at will. The maximum weight he can lift with his mind is equivalent to the weight he can lift with his body, approximately 300 pounds.)

Three reasons why you have chosen that character: He's a good mystic, something I was looking for. He's fairly well known and will be able to help out a bit against Mordru. Mainly, I have chosen him to help a friend in their arc.

What can you bring to this: Experience in RPing, both online and tabletop.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As many as need be, life permitting.

Well, besides Johnny, there aren't any F4 members at the moment. With X-Men, theres Gambit, Rogue, Wolverine, Cyclops, and others, I think. (If I've forgotten one of you, I apologise)

I think you should stick with Reed, personally, but that's just me. I'd wait to see what others think.

Approved.

I'll play the ever lovin' blue eyed Thing if we can find people who want to play the rest of the FF.

The Fantastic Four shouldn't be absent from such a great gathering of heroes.

Has anyone played the Hulk yet? I've had some ideas for him.

I'm playing Reed Richards and TheTurtle is playing Johnny Storm. It would be cool if you wanted to play as Ben Grimm  Right now, Reed is working on a formula to turn Ben back to normal (but I was thinking it kinda messes up, and will allow Ben to turn into the Thing, and then back to Ben whenever he wants )

I was never a fan of Ben being able to go back to his human form.

I always thought a big part of his character was being trapped as a monster.

But if you do want to turn him into a human, even if it's only temporary, Ben could maybe decide he wants to be the Thing again, when he finds himself in a situation where he needs his gargantuan strength.

Also, in this one universe thing: Have Lex Luthor and Reed Richards ever met? I feel that Reed would want to get to know such an intelligent person, and Lex would want to keep tabs on a guy as smart as Reed.

How about Tony Stark, does he have any association with Luthor?

Lex tried to abduct Luthor with a giant robot. Reed figured out it was Luthor's doing, but Lex doesn't know that Reed knows.

...that sounds about right.

If you decide to play Ben, i'll leave it up to you too decide if he gets any sort of cure or whatever because he will be your character

You should read back near the beginning of the RPG...Reed and Lex have quite a history. Tony and Luthor have met a few times...Reed and Tony have a history as well...they are old friends...that was pretty evident when Sentry was playing Ironman but not so much anymore.

Dinah needs to punch Tony in the arm for that joke.

Or the face. :p

Image? Vertigo? Johnny DC? Top Cow?

:down

We don't need any of that.

If you want that revive the Mutants and Masterminds RPG. Since it's defunct it wouldn't be hard to convert it to allow mainstream characters.

Wildstorm and Milestone are all owned by DC, same as Vertigo (which is currently being used, with OC as Constantine). Johnny DC is just kiddified versions of DC characters, and the Scooby Doo comic stuff can be dismissed because it was a cartoon first.

Lex wanted Reed to be the head of his medical sciences division at Lex Corp...Reed said no because he just got back from the space mission that changed him and his friends into the FF, and he wanted to figure out a cure. Lex then tried to kidnap Reed with a giant robot during a press conference the FF were holding about their powers. A bunch of superheroes including the FF, Superman and Spider-man took out the robot.

Top Cow? :o

The Constantine thing it iffy..because Constantine was in DC before he was in Vertigo.

Its up to you. You are a great Reed, but I would like to see how you do with Iceman. Since I have played him since season one of teh Marvel RPG, I would like to see someone else play him. (But no, I am not giving him up in the Marvel one. :) ) :xmen:

You frogot the best bit, with Reed Richards and Lex Luthor meeting at the party afterwards. Luthor acted all concerned for his "friend" Reed Richards, and vowed to track down the depraved individual responsible for the robot attack...:p

Ice, I think you and me could very well be the only two players left who have been playing as the same character in the Marvel RPG since the beginning of Season 1.

Who the hell is the Doctor?!

Who being the operative word. That's my point though, if you allow any character who has ever appeared in a marvel comic (Kiss was the examle used I think) this is the kind of stuff that's left open - characters very few people have heard of coming in. I used the Doctor as an example because I knew - not that many Americans know about him, he's a brit only thing, and hes very definately a character who wouldn't fit. It would be all kinds of chaos.
