One Universe RPG: Season III OOC Thread

Ok, after discussing it and going over the apps, we've come to a decision.
It was a tough choice, but Peter Parker is approved as Venom. Sorry, Syn.

Also...

Watchman, you're approved as Brainiac.

Grohl, you're not approved as Deadpool.

Aerosmithrules, you're approved as Magneto.
Last we saw him was in Asteroid M (the old and forgotten orbital headquarters of the JSA), and encased in a skin-tight metal shell by Amazo when the android attacked and copied his powers.

Tank girl, you're approved as Gambit.
Keep in mind though that there is really no X-Men team in the OU, per se. This universe is still in it's infancy for the most part. The only senior members are Storm, Beast, and Wolverine who act as instructors at Xavier's School for the Gifted.
Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, Jubilee, Iceman, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, and Northstar are all younger students.
Iceman and Shadowcat are played by Green Lantern, Nightcrawler is played by Carnage27, and Wolverine is played by Wiegeabo.
Definitely get with them to figure out how to fit Remy in to the OU X-Men.

Going back, I see that now. I was still under the impression that Syn was only dropping him if he was approved as Venom.

But, since I see that is no longer the case, you're approved as Deadpool, Grohl.

I'm still wanting to get into this RPG, so I'm considering a mutant, X-Man or otherwise. Possibly Pyro...

Time doesn't really pass too quickly (in game time) in the 3 major Hype RPGs (OU, DC, and Marvel). It might be best to make Gambit younger for the OU or you may be waiting a while.

He's an agent of SHIELD, and Clint Barton's son. He's only been on a few missions, and has yet to meet his father.

For more information on that, I'd PM Green Lantern. He's the one who played him.

Is Clint his biological father? Or was he just raised by Clint and his real father is Ollie?

Biological. And as said, he's never met Clint. He only recently uncovered the proof.

Brief biography of the character's history: Upon the discovery of mutants, the United States Government created the Department for Mutant Control, appointing Dr. Bolivar Trask at its head. Dr. Trask is currently working on the highly top secret Project: Wideawake, which is pending approval from the President.

One year ago...

Dr. Bolivar Trask entered the Oval Office, carrying a small manila folder. "Good afternoon, Mr. President."

"Good afternoon, Dr. Trask." The President motioned Trask to have a seat on the sofa in front of him, and he followed suit. "Let's not waste any time, shall we? I have a conference call with Steven Harper in 45 minutes, and you know how those Canadians get when they have to wait."

Trask sat down and adjusted his pants until he was comfortable, a slight grin crossing his face. "I'm afraid I don't, Mr. President."

"You don't? Well, consider yourself lucky." He sat down on the sofa across from him, leaning back in a very relaxed manner. "Now, remind me again what your department has been doing lately, Dr. Trask."

Trask rubbed his forehead. Why was it that the White House never took his program seriously? "Mutant Control, Mr. President. We've finally developed a method to detect the mutant gene through simple difraction of infrared waves on a given subject."

The President leaned forward slightly. "Infrared? Like thermal vision?"

Trask scoffed slightly under his breath, the smiled. "Our research shows that the mutant gene has a very small disruption on electrostatic particles. Our system simply utilizes this fact and uses it to determine whether a person is a mutant or not."

"What does this have to do with me, Dr. Trask?"

Trask opened his folder to several prototypes. "We need your personal approval to begin the next phase of Project: Wideawake, Mr. President. With mutant detection a success, we are ready to begin development on a task force."

"Task force?"

"Mr. President, if our plans are approved, we will create a task force fully equipped with exactly what we need to be ready for the types of attacks that we both know mutants will eventually be making against us. I am sure that you want to be ready for such attacks without putting innocent lives at risk."

Just so you know - Trask was recently fired by Luthor for pitching a very controversial idea. (Gee, wonder what it could have been?)

He also worked briefly for Norman, heading OsCorp's team in Latveria that was investigating a strange meteor that crashed there.
Doom ended up killing the team, but Trask escaped.

This was all before his time with Luthor.
