Click was much more of a "make up" movie than X3, what with the aging effects of both Adam Sandler's and Kate Beckinsale's characters.

Click deserved that nomination much more than X3, whereas X3 was more of a CGI/special effect movie.

LOL.....the Fat suit and the deaging in Click was much longer than the 5 minute of deaging in X3.....no suprise.....SR CGI of metropolis, the plane scene, and the earthquake etc was great.....Pirates the Davy Jones crew was Excellent and I didn't see poseiden

Gee it really surprises me that Poseidon, Click and Superman Returns each got one oscar nomination. Yet I can't believe the Da Vinci Code got one nomination at the Golden Globes and at the Grammy's, but not at the Oscars?! As usual, the Academy only wants the same boring dramas (that critics love) to get the main nominations.

No one was more dissapointed than I that X-MEN did not get the make-up nomination, but the age make-ups [ Henry Winkler's ! ] in CLICK were amazing! PAN will win!

No. I knew it wouldn't b/c the first two films didn't get any nominations either.

I was shocked at Click.
But I can see why Poseidon got nominated. Doesn't it bring a new kind of effect like "first time foam and _____ are used and blah blah blah"? I thought I read that somewhere...
Though the bridge in X3 was quite new too.

Yup.... according to VFXWorld its the first time a total CG integration of the spray, foam and bubbles effect is seen.

I did like the new category--Worst Excuse for a Family Film.

Really?Cause they did quite a bit of work on the background mutants. Some great work too.

I do think though that X3 should have been up there with SR and POTC2. The deaging effects alone should have gotten it there.

One effects artist who got to vote certainly agrees.

I totally agree with that. Plus there are a lot of other great fx to give the nomination, like Juggs and Kitty chase scene, and Phat changing while sitting at the church
