Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse - Part 1

I actually don't mind how he looks, I've said as much on several occasions. But he undeniably looks more like Ivan Ooze than Apocalypse. It's not even a debate.

If you look at the magazine cover shot, the Ooze nonsense soon evaporates.

The thing they could have done is given Isaac more facial prosthetics to make him more monstrous looking. And some illusions of scale to make him seem bigger.

It's only the more gaunt face and smaller stature that are less Apocalypse.

They made an error of judgment in releasing that shot where he is bathed in purple light and thus looks purple. Forget that and look at the magazine cover for a more accurate representation.

Forgive me but I just find Oscar so damn hot!!!!!! I hope we get scenes with him wearing traditional Egyptian apparel, like in Evolution, before he goes all blue and techno. Low key I want to see him shirtless.....

I think he looks like a Star Trek villain, myself. But whatever the case, I just don't like the way he looks.

I think Singer will pull it off somehow. He's proven us wrong so many times before, although he's also messed up too lol. This can go either way but you have Oscar Isaac and Singer, I'm rooting for them to really crush this role, in a good way.

You seriously need your eyes checked if you think design-wise it looks more Ooze than Apocalypse.
He's got the armor, the shoulder pads, the coils, baldness, the random line head design/silhouette, that metal collar thing, and even the A on the torso.
Ooze is covered in embroidered drapery, has alien tentacle-esque head design that flare out, a heavily wrinkled face, and sharp pointy nails on his exposed hands.

Don't like OI's Apocalypse? Fine, but the Ooze thing is dumb, and always will be, as well as the supporters of the ridiculous assessment.

Yes his suit looks more like Classic Apoc suit than Ivan Ooze suite. From the neck up he looks much more like Ivan Ooze than classic Apoc. There is nothing at all that looks like Classic Apoc from the neck up. That side piece that comes below his eyes and above the cheek is Ooze esque.

There's no amount of eye-rolling smileys or gifs that amount to your ignorance.

Let's change up the topic. This Ivan Ooze ridiculousness has gone on long enough.

Y'all think Apoc's voice will be "digitized" or whatever to sound deeper (e.g. X-Men: Evolution, X-Men TAS), or will it remain like how it was in the trailer? I think his normal voice worked just fine for me.

I liked his voice in the teaser. I thought it sounded very commanding without digitizing. I wonder if they'll end up tweaking it though.

I hope they make it deeper. Oscar's delivery is good but for Apocalypse it sounds too... human IMHO.

It would be nteresting with how human they made Ultron sound (a decision I personally liked), they make Apocalypse, who is less robotic than in certain incarnations, sound a bit more mechanical. I think giving him some metallic twinge would be fine, but I don't think we've heard enough of Oscar to judge whether he needs to be augmented. Sometimes less is more etc. Oscar has never done a role like this so I don't even know what kinda voice he has hidden deep away in him.

I would expect him to sound human.

He's a mutant. Which in this movie universe is an advanced human.

You mean a villain? He's been a villain before. Or did you mean he's never done something as big time as Apocalypse?

Poor boy, before you have a mental breakdown and smash your computer against the wall, you should consider blocking me. And in case you haven't noticed, based on your high horse logic of (my opinion makes me right and you wrong), any statement you make has become the equivalent of bad gas.

I hope so, his voice should not sound like any human. It should be on the level of Darth Vader and Isaacs is not going to be able to do that.

This. I like Oscar, but they need to give him a little help via cgi and voice digitization. Don't just leave him out there on a limb because if they do, he will fail.

I don't care what those people and most of cbm users write, because they follow blind leaders.

I hope they deepen the voice too, personally
I'm sure his delivery will be good, but his voice is a higher pitch than I'd picture for Apocalypse

the voice from the old cartoon, but with actually good delivery, would be perfect, imo

I remember when Apoc was first announced, I wanted them to get John Noble (Sleepy Hollow, Arkham Knight Scarecrow) because his voice alone is magnificent.

But Oscar's the man. I personally don't mind if it's normal, but if they do change it, don't make it unrecognizable. Perhaps an octave or two lower.

I said John Noble too! His Walternate from Fringe voice is actually quite like the TAS Apocalypse in a way.

Some minor but cool stuff from Oscar. Throughout the time I've paid attention to him, which isn't that long, all of his interviews sound really great. It's interesting how he mentions in films with heightened realities, he can take acting to this Greek Tragedy or Kabuki-like place. Never thought of it that way, but it sound like a really smart approach.

I don't want them to electronically alter his voice at all. If he goes a bit deeper, than fine. But I loved the direction his first monologue seemed to be going in the footage.

Oscar Isaac is excellent in INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, excellent in EX MACHINA, really excellent in SHOW ME A HERO. I have no reason to believe he'll be anything less than excellent here. Not particularly hyped about the film, but Apocalypse will likely be the best thing in it.
