Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse - Part 1

X-men Evolution was my fav Apocalypse. I tend to zone out when TAS Apocalypse is monologuing.

Evolution had so many of my favorite versions of characters and stories, it's why I tend to always fancast with them in mind when new movies are upcoming, and I tend to get a good amount of what I want, and I can see Apocalypse is no exception.

You guys should stop calling out SS posts, I know most of it does not make sense but they are hilarious LOL. Please continue SS, and don't stop entertaining.

its also pretty witty how he put it all together

I think Ultron and Apocalypse will be similarly the same but different from their comic counterparts

New interpretations are fine with me as long as they do interesting things or explore new concepts with the character. Ultron for me was an upgrade from his comic book counterpart motivation wise. In always found Ultrons motives in the comics generic.

Hopefully Apocalypse is a great villain. He's at least a breath of fresh air from Magneto.

and again, I don't think TeeKay was saying he thought Ultron was Amazing and Apoc's gunna suck, he said he hopes Singer handles his villain better than Whedon, but presumably has doubts about it based on what he's seen...
where's the confusion?

Thank you.:highfive: Not sure where the confusion is tbh.

You make no sense with any of these statements as just this page you were talking about how important the voice was... which is it does it bother you or not?

And the "do you want to go there?" Really? Kind of childish don't you think? It's not Mystique people "hate" it's the fact that the writers had to make concessions for J.Law. Everyone loves Rebecca portrayal of the character which is what i was referring to so your point is moot.

You are more than welcome to have your own opinion but why not stand by it when challenged?

It makes plenty of sense given that I was expressing my opinion on "ONE PARTICULAR CHARACTER!"

Don't worry, it's allowed...

Do you honestly think that Ultron will be as "unfaithful" as this version of Apocalypse?
People tried to use this same argument for the FFINO to compare the changes Marvel has made on their films to what Fox did with their most recent Marvel adaption. It doesn't work.

As someone else said, what is exactly unfaithful about this Apocalypse? He has he same motivations here as his comics version.

Ultron was nothing like his comic counter part yet people defend that to the hilt. The X-Men franchise is not the FF franchise, the latter of which Fox clearly don't have a clue what to do with. I never even watched the new movie.

But the difference is Apoc is being done in the X-Men franchise and by Bryan Singer, who does good villains and very good X-Men movies. Plus, what I have seen of Apoc so far he looks totally faithful.

I actually didn't like X-Men: Evolution but that was more bias because i grew up with the 90s cartoon that i didn't see why they couldn't just repeat it for kids rather then have to make a this brand new one

Sadly with bias you ain't willing to give anything new a chance because there is always this feeling of its not what i am used too

I can understand that as I felt the same way about Wolverine and the X-Men.
I however grew up with both the 90's cartoon and Evo, so I consider myself lucky. W&X-Men wasn't bad either, just proportions of the characters were too stylistic for my liking.

I don't think it's bias. Though design and animations in Evolution are arguably better. The story, dialogue, fights scenes and overall tone were better in the Animated Series version.

I could barely stomach "Evolution".

Apocalypse's design looks so much like his final form in Evo, which is perfect. Honestly, the third and fourth seasons told an amazing Apocalypse story. Magneto accidentally destroying the last safeguard against Apocalypse, Mesmero controlling Rogue so she would steal everyone's powers in order to revive Apocalypse, Magneto using effing satellites to attack Pocy's pyramids and then getting "killed" with one hand gesture, Jean+Cerebro vs Xavier, and showing every character possible going to war.

Makes me want to rewatch it.

the only part of Evo I really liked was the final little montage showing glimpses of famous stories from the comics in the future
but i'm a hater when it comes to Teen superhero stories

That's true, but the TAS version story line when they assemble all the psychics.. I mean maybe because I was much younger... I also liked the climax of the TAS version much better.
Where I think in Evo he just got beat becuase they pulled a leach on him (kinda lame, but witty)
All the psychics turning on Apoc at the end was totally sweet.

It doesn't have a fantasy-feel at all, no idea where you got that idea from.

Apocalypse & The Horsemen have more of a fantasy feel to me, but I guess it's just my impression. It's probably sci-fi.

Agreed. I appreciate a few things it did like introduce Laura, but otherwise I couldn't really stand it. Wasn't even a contest when compared to TAS and WATX imo.

WATX was my least favourite. It was still decent but I thought its problems were the biggest. Genosha was fantastic though.

The ending with Frost and The Phoenix in WATX was one of my favorite things I've seen in any X-Men cartoon. And then we had that promise of Apocalypse along with Deadpool showing up. Such a great Ep. Shame it didn't get another season.

Loved that the anime and WATX put Frost as a major character or the lead female. Far more interesting then Jean.

It could have been the best cartoon with a few tweaks. Like giving the X-men who aren't named Wolverine something to do. Bash Evo as much as you want, but that's the best cartoon for character arcs and development.

EVOs start was pretty off. It took seasons to get into the swing of things story and character wise imo. It wasn't my preference for tone or take but I can appreciate that it did build stronger.

Though I don't think we have ever really seen eye to eye on things X-Men Mad Ones. So to each their own.

Evo's first season was really bad. I appreciate what it did for the team of X-characters though, something sacrificed for Wolverine-centric stories in WATXM. I still would have watched season 2 in a heartbeat though.
