Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse - Part 2

But they had enough money, to make him look bigger than Magneto, Beast,...

Supposedly Singer was going to go the full CGI route, but was convinced to go practical after the effects people did a costume test for him to see.

yeah back in the day and he looked weird with the pupils in the 80's, which is why most images from the source material have been pupil-less for the past 25 years or so
Yeah. You can just tell the difference to this very day even with the movie posters. He looks silly in the magazine images with pupils and that shot in the super bowl spot choking Mystique but much better and menacing in the poster shots with white eyes.

Ok, but they still had enough money to make him look bigger.
Same as Xerxes in 300.

They would only be able to do that with visual effects. They can only pack so much armor onto Oscar Isaac. He's not that big a guy and fairly short.

And that's why there isn't hype for this movie, that's not Apocalypse people know.

Well.....maybe from certain comic fans. That doesn't really apply to the general public who wouldn't know anything about the character. What they're learning from Apocalypse is strictly from the narrative and interpretation of THIS film. If the performance is good, then his looks won't matter much for them. The general audience go to see a movie hopefully well made. Not how well a movie conform to comics. What will be significant is the narrative structure of the film and how well the story is and how the characters are utilized.

The other side of the coin in regard to hype is the lack of marketing thus far for the movie. We are just now getting the second trailer in a few days. The other comic book movies have since had multiple trailers and tv spots. We've barely seen a thing from the actual film itself.

Most of people who will watch it in cinema in first weekends, read comics or watched cartoons.

Most people (particularly due to its scheduled slot) are going to see a good summer flick. It wouldn't be based on how many read comics or watch the cartoons (particularly when the cartoons no longer run and Marvel's treacherous treatment of the X-men in the comics lately). So later generations who didn't grow up with that stuff wouldn't be influenced by such things. What will bring people into this movie its first weekends is the success of the last x-men film Days of Future Past, a wanting to see the continuation of the story, and any positive word-of-mouth reviews.

What the? You are reaching dude. His dialogue, backstory and elements of his look certainly remind me of Apocalypse.

But either way that doesn't have anything to do with supposed lack of hype (which, if you check social networks, isn't true).

Even if Apocalypse is red, I don't think his over-all look is that popular to break or make the movie for ticket buyers.

All of this, is not what I'm talking about.
I'm talking about size and deep voice, you feel bigger respect for a person like that.
And people in my country at all forums are disappointed of this short Apocalypse, not the villain we know. Hype is lower than for Civil War, BvS and Suicide.

The hype is lower than those films because the original cast (who was a big reason for the hype of DOFP) isn't back and we're back in a prequel kind of film - not because Apocalypse is short or looks different from the comics. I bet most casual movie goers doesn't even know what Apocalypse looks like in the comics and I doubt those people visits "all forums". The Sentinels looking different from the comics didn't stop people from watching the film.

And Sentinels weren't origially made from plastic and didn't have scales in the comics and people still saw the movie with Sentinels made from plastic and Sentinels with scales.

You are going overboard with this "Apocalypse is too small, people will skip the movie". IMO, thats more like fan boy nitpicking.

Still not talking about, what I'm talking about.
I didn't wrote people will skip, so where did you get this quotation mark ?
I'm talking about hype, it's not high enough, and fans are disappointed because of Apo size.
This leads to low rating for this movie.
This movie at start is worse than X2. We can only hope, this can be good as DOFP.

The GA doesn't even know what Apocalypse looks like in the comics so him being smaller than in the comics won't be the reason they skip it, if they skip it.

Exactly, that's why I didn't wrote about skipping.
Rating!

So people aren't hyping this movie because Apocalypse doesn't speak deep enough and isn't tall enough? Whatever you say I guess...

Yup, they don't feel the hype, seeing this shorty Apocalypse, black X-Men costumes...
Apocalypse is second after Magneto, best known X-Men villain. You can't do something like that.
Also 80's, but Singer gives X-Men 2020's costumes.

^ Yeah, I said in the other thread that the new trailer really needs to bring it and get people hyped for this movie.

Is it set in stone or can they push back the release date? How many years will it take Oscar to grow tall enough for the film to be enjoyable? At the same time you don't want to leave it too long and then one of the other actors grows too tall for their role!

Having seen that which cannot be shared, I just don't understand those that want him to be pupil-less the entire time. I just don't like that look.
