Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse

Quite disappointed in his look. The armour is cool just the face. Wish it was grey and had white or red eyes. Hope they take some of the criticism and polish it up with some movie magic.

On the plus side, I do kind of like how they made him look really old looking

That is interesting considering he consulted with James Cameron for the last film.

I hope there's less destruction porn and more mutant vs. mutant stuff, though. The most exciting part about that is we know it will mostly be a battle of equals, and we won't exactly predict who gets to win.
I'm guessing theres destruction based on the concept art. It looked like a stargate/Egyptian style building growing out of the rubble of a destroyed City. Also the Age Of Apocalypse comic he has his buildings built on top of our cities.
(If he's using anything from that story).

(I really wish I could stop talking about the look, but I can't help it, lol)

I'm actually the other way around. I think people would be less reactive if the suit was visibly blue, but it looks pitch black and the purple light in some of his shots does the overall look no favors.

Peoples issue are always superficial. It's always about how the character looks. In Singer's movies most of the characters haven't really looked too much like the comic characters but they're always amazing because of the characters themselves and the stories played out on screen. For once Singer is actually going all out and there's still complaints. The comic book fanbase is the best fanbase at times but also the worst too.

Good post. Apocalypse will be a cool and threatening villain as all of Singers have been.

It's a shame they get no points for trying harder with the costumes.

yo that would be totally wicked.

Kinda disappointed in his look, but I'll do my best to remain optimistic. Although it is disheartening that they didn't make him look massive (which is easy enough to do with camera tricks). Also, I saw a bootleg of the trailer and he sounded very soft-spoken. I remember in Age of Apocalypse, he was described as having a voice "thunder would envy." Seems like we won't be getting that either.

Of course, Isaac is a great actor and I hope he gives us something truly memorable. But seeing this makes me wish someone other than Singer was helming this film.

I don't care if the suit is blue or black ultimately. It's his face that is the most iconic part of his look, and that is missing. They could've made an all black version of the comic Apocalypse armour and he would've looked fantastic if he had the iconic face. He just looks like a different character.

If you look at him long enough, you can hear him say: "Yeah, I made some changes to my Stargate cosplay from a few years ago and painted my face blue. What do you guys think?"

If I saw this actor at a comic con, I would have no idea he was supposed to be Apocalypse. To me, that means a makeup failure.

How is the make-up a failure? In your opinion it might fail as an adaptation of one particular look from the comics, a look that the filmmakers clearly are not going for. I'd think the measure of success for makeup is if it can transform the actor, which I think it has here.

I pretty much never complain about changes done in comic book movies in regards to look, I don't like his look. It just looks plain and dull.

I don't care how "accurate" it is or isn't. The look is just bad.

It's as if the Fox people saw GOTG and said "how can we get a response as positive as that?" and decided to make Apocalypse into Ronan.

And no, he doesn't look at all like Apocolypse from the comics. Show me one pic where this version and the comic version look even remotely similar and I will admit defeat.

LSD also decided to turn John Constantine into Keanu Reeves because Americans don't like British heroes. Ronan actually looks like Apocalypse compared to this
