Promotional material has never been a guarantee of a character's final look in a film.

That said, I hope they stick to the white eyes featured in the teaser poster, as I'm not impressed with how Apocalypse looks in the EW photos.

They're probably gonna fix in post.

Quicksliver still looks horrible in DoFP. But the performance was great.

That's my point. If his current look stays as is, I've got faith in Isaac as an actor to knock it out of the park that people won't be even care as much about his look.

Even in higher quality, I can't tell it's Isaac at first glance.

Even looking at the large, zoomed-in image, I can barely tell it's Isaac. I mean, at first I wasn't sure I liked what they were doing, because I thought they could've kept the actor's look more or less intact aside from a few flourishes. But if they purposely wanted him to look very different and sort of ancient-looking... well then A+ in that regard.

The suit looks super cumbersome, while making the character proportions look off. It kind of reminds me of the armor for Krogans in Mass Effect.

People are just looking at the character too superficially which is the problem. They're not taking into account Oscars performance just yet, if the character will change more as the movie progresses, what they do in post etc. It's all too much about the look now which I get cause that's all we've seen. But I would've thought they'd at least wait to pass judgement closer once we get a sense of the performance. QS is really a good example cause he looked terrible but once we see the character in motion, saw his scenes and the sequence he was the standout. It comes down to patience. We have to wait a year lol. Or at least until a trailer.

But I get it the look is really one half of it.

Yeah, that's my thing too. I mean, yeah, I guess there's a similarity that can be drawn between that pic of Isaac in-costume and Ivan Ooze, but let's not sit here and pretend that a straight-forward carbon copy of the comic book character wouldn't have looked any less outlandish or silly. People going "Oh well, this cosplay would've look better..." Cut the crap. No, it wouldn't have, it just would've kept you all well within your comfort zone.

So that's why Deadpool and Psylocke have gotten such great reception. Right

I think the nose and brow really help in making him not look close to his normal self. Outside of Hoult's Beast make-up in the last two films, it was easy to recognize the actors through their make-up.

Love the new pics. Think Apocalypse looks great. Would have preferred gray skin, but he still looks great. A lot of detail on his suit which looks very well done IMO. Some of these complaints going around are just . The eyes can't roll back further with some of these.

I think Munn looks awkward in the costume, but the half naked look isn't hurting the reception.

Seeing Singer be even semi faithful to an X-Men character's look has me not wanting to complain about anything. I don't know what I think about Apocalypse look but the Ivan Ooze comparisons do give me a good laugh.

As one who grew up on Power Rangers, it is hilarious. The second my brother saw him, he said. Didn't need any encouragement.

Funny thing is I don't even dislike the design.

I'm just glad that he isn't just a regular guy wearing leather pants. I mean I've made no secret of my distaste of the costume design in the X-Men films.
