Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse

The picture of him in the poster was perfect, if they can somehow get the final look something like that I'd be more than happy, plus its hard to tell with "shaky-cam" what he actually looks like at the moment anyway.

There is a little bit in the footage where he appears to be behind a fence and he looks more metallic blue than purple. Cant see his face but his costume does at least

No honestly, I have to say, his look is majorly disappointing for me

when that art was released a couple days back i was like "oh holy crap, that actually looks pretty sick, I wouldn't even mind if he was all dark like that"

then the trailer leaked and it changed to "aww goddammit"

the make-up looks very 90's imo, and as others have pointed out with the Ivan Ooze and other comparisons
It's not so much that he actually looks like those characters, but the makeup has a similar quality to it

that, and, ya know, he looks tiny

No offense but make-up quality is too hard to tell considering the footage was so blurry

from the trailer he kind of looks like the concept from a few months back

none taken
I know ya can't get a very good look at it, and CGI will probably touch up anything that's less than great
but there's just something about the style of the face that feels a tad dated
I dunno, I've watched too much of SyFy's Face-off lately, lol

plus, I was really likin' that artwork, and this looks quite different

To be fair what we've seen in the teaser trailer of him could be before he gets his technology upgrade.

They've already said countless times he can modify his height.

I think the "nitpick" is that his "normal" size should be a bit taller than the rest. And that I do agree with.

It might be that they want him to seem physically underwhelming, so that when he does become so, it will have that much more impact.

i watched the trailer and, not bad at all! it just feels awkward to see singer directing without any original cast and so many children. It's a bit like Harry Potter, where Voldemort = Apocalypse and muties = wizards :funny: also, why isn't there a team shot of the x-men?

Probably because it's the first teaser I'm sure down the line we will get a team shot once more is shot, also they aren't young children I'll say teenagers not a big deal it does not seem like Harry Potter.

I think all the critical talk about apocalypse look and size will go on for a long time

Honestly, from the teaser...he looks stupid. Like, he doesn't look threatening or menacing. He looks like an intentionally retro, over the top punk 80s, Sam the Eagle.

"You are my children." I just love that line. He really does fancy himself as a god or "the God" like the mutants that have come after him are truly made in his image. Powerful.

Surprised so many were expecting a giant. People should have seen this coming after Isaac was cast and they said mix of practical and cgi.

How can a face be "dated"?

Before I saw any comments on the look, I saw it and it took the hype out of me. It looked like something from the 90s. I hit the forums and that seems to be the general consensus. It's so early in production that I won't actually judge, but it needs major work.

After watching a better version of the trailer, the shot of Apocalypse standing behind the gates does make him look much bigger.

Though it may just be the way the camera pans down. I can't tell for sure.

In the books he's 7ft. tall as is without enhancements, and on the Evolution show he was just the gray skinned pharoah. They're probably splitting the difference.

I think apocalypse probably turned out more simple in design then a lot of people expected as many expected mo cap, CGI elements, bulky costume

^^^ this! I think that him being an average size (although he does look an inch or so taller than Fassbender, who is 6'0, in the hallway shot) will make it that much more climactic when he enhances his size

I don't care about his size. We all know he can change that. And the trailer is too blurry to judge the desing. Now the color is visible and I hated it.

So far it's disappointing, but we'll see.

The shot of him behind the gate looks good its just the shot with him with Storm and says "Come and see" looks iffy

This.

Wasn't a big fan of his voice either.
