Our "Space Princess": David Corenswet IS Clark Kent/Superman!

I can't get over how much Corenswet looks like Tom Welling's son lol. It's also cool how much love he has given the show throughout interviews!

Jor-El!?! :o

If only Welling had been wearing a Superman shirt when his mugshot was taken. Then he would be forever immortalized wearing the logo he tried so hard to avoid during his show lol.

We really need to give Smallville more credit for bringing in more Superman fans who might not otherwise have come to the franchise.

Like if you went on a fan board like this and pitched Superman but make it like the OC people would eat you alive. But it largely worked

I've said for a while the secret key to Superman's longevity is the romance and how much he also appeals to the female demographic - if Lois & Clark hadn't been the first Superman thing I'd seen, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the character (because the romance in the Reeve/Donner stuff doesn't work for me). Smallville and Superman & Lois follow that same lead. MAWS too. He's an incredibly romantic character and the Post-Crisis TV stuff has REALLY effectively captured that imo. And now this movie has too, thankfully.

I mean we got a full on sex scene with Henry and Amy, but that might as well been her and a Ken doll. :o

My take on his performance is: he delivered the heart needed to carry the movie.

A lot of what I recognize comes from his skills at Juilliard. He's a theater-trained actor, and it showed.

I can appreciate past actors for what they brought to the role, given what they had writing-wise. David had presence, and it didn't feel contrived. He was reminding me of a slightly more mature Tom Welling, and I liked it a lot. He brought the humanity that was needed. I'll see the movie again because of him.

This reminds me. I still don't love a certain twist in the movie and hope they retcon it, but...
Troubling immigrant allegories aside, there is a certain perverse brilliance to it. If we are being honest, the most believable way to make a sweet guy like David seem scary and malevolent is to make people think he is here to steal their ladies. :funny:

He showed Superman can have a personality on the big screen. :p
It’s so funny to look back on the bellyaching about ditching Cavill for a younger Superman (well… you don’t really have to look back, they’re still ****ing doing it). Regardless of age, Cavill hasn’t once shown me that he’s capable of playing the Superman that was presented to us here.

Yeah even my cute twink husband, he hasn’t touched a Superman movie, cartoon or comic in his life but he loved smallville! Just goes to show sometimes taking a big swing pays off

David’s gotta be losing his ****…

New tagline for this movie:

YOU’LL BELIEVE A MAN CAN ACT.

(that might be tough if you’ve only seen the previous four Superman movies)

Bryan Singer trying to Ryan Murphy and his main roles. :o

I'm finding it crazy how different and nore superman like David looks now compared to pre Superman. It's like his face is two different people

I mean, he bulked up a lot. But I don’t know. The first thing I ever saw him in was The Politician and even though he was very skinny in that (and he played a very troubled prom king type of character), I instantly saw a bit of Superman in him. He just had… something that stood out. The look and the magnetic charisma. Then I saw him in Hollywood and he sold me on the Clark Kent persona.

From that point, he was the only option in my book. Dude was born to play Superman.
