Paul Dano is Edward Nashton aka "The Riddler"

Might be a little too Zsasz, but given the “Zodiac” of this Riddler I think it’d be creepy to see him covered in question mark scars.

Nah way too Zsasz imo. That's pretty dope artwork tho

Btw should we really be so quick to assume Mr. Tapeyman is Riddler ? I liked the idea that he isn't the killer but he knows who is and keeps toying with the police and Batman about it. Maybe the killer is doing his dirty work and he's using him as a decoy of sorts

It's meant to be a mystery after all. Having him as the killer right off the bat isn't that big of a "twist"

People keep saying that but I don't think Riddler being the murderer is our mystery. Our mystery is why he's doing it. What's his secret, how does he know that Bruce/Batman is involved in this

Yeah, he clearly is uncovering the corrupted past of Gotham which probably includes the Waynes. How does he know all this? That’s the riddle for Batman to solve.

Yeah, definitely. Will be interesting though if they also do tie it in with the Court of Owls.

I also wonder if the Riddler has been disfigured somehow and that’s why he wears that mask.

It's like Chinatown. Much less the who done it but more of the how and the why. I mean it's the smart way to go. You can't really do a whodunit if you know who the killer is, especially if we already know The Riddler is in it, so I expect they'll dispense of that mystery early on. We see him commit the crime too. But the fact he's masked, who he is and why is probably the deeper mystery.

It's somehow understated, but the Batman franchise really does attract the stars who go above and beyond in providing a unique stamp to their performance. I can't think of any other series which featured as many transformative roles in a bombastic way, but also be genuinely incredible to watch.

We are blessed with this franchise.

It reminds me of how Batman Begins had this great lineup of respected actors and no one felt like they were phoning it in like you sometimes expect for “serious actors” in a CBM.

Was that not Dano's voice in the trailer? It sounds muffled (like if he were wearing a mask). I see no reason to think that's not the Riddler we're seeing.

It's clearly Dano but there might be some purposeful misleading going on here. Just cause they place his voice over a montage of various clips including Mr. Tapeyman doesn't automatically confirm he's him. Just as the clip at the end in the batcave cut with his voice over doesn't mean that's how that scene will go down.

Again, I think it's possible he's just using this killer or something else entirely. There's no real way of knowing at this point in time.

It’s him. I can tell by his build and his eyes that he’s “mr tapeyman”.

Riddler is one of those villains that I genuinely love, yet I'm not married to any specific look.

This Zodiac-looking nightmare works for me just fine.
i love a comic accurate riddler as much as anyone, but i don't have a problem with this zodiac-esque look within the context of this film, particularly with the understanding none of the other villains (and batman himself, for that matter) look fully realized yet.
