Paul Dano is Edward Nashton aka "The Riddler"

Im having strong feelings that we are being fed Anarky as main villain (Lonnie Machin, red robed villain with golden mask?) in form of Riddler. Because sure Riddler was always way much more famous than Anarky as a villain, but seems more like this man has his beef with the corrupted system and lies rather than just having deadly obsession to prove his intellect.

Yeah.... A slight concern of mine tbh.

I did some zooming in on some photos: I could be wrong given the ridiculousness of it, HOWEVER... it looks like above is head/underneath his U.S. surplus cold weather mask is bubble wrap.

Bubble. Wrap.

I did a zoom in and that’s what it looks like to me. I mean... I’ve read that some things where football players have helmets designed or have bubble wrap placed inside as protection from concussions. Could this Riddler have sustained a head injury to make him extremely protective of his head?

All purely speculation of course, but certainly worth bringing up IF I’m right.

It looks more like plastic waterproof tarp to me, probably to prevent dna evidence like in Hannibal.

Excellent point. Makes one wonder if Riddler's appearance in the trailer is more an extension of his intellect and is principally about him being very careful to not leave behind DNA evidence or be caught.

That's what I would assume. On a practical level, you don't hire an actor like Paul Dano and then hide his performance behind a mask for an entire movie.

Not necessarily true. You might hire such a talented actor precisely because you trust that they can make their performance come through such a costume... As Nolan did with Hardy as Bane or the fighter pilot in Dunkirk.

Keri Russell in The Rise of Skywalker......Edward Norton in Kingdom of Heaven.....Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises and the vast majority of Dunkirk.

Being a known/respected actor doesn't rule out being masked for a whole or most of a role/movie.

I'm not ruling out that it happens, I just don't think that's the direction they will be heading.

To be fair Riddler going after corruption was established in Arkham Origins.
