Ant-Man Paul Rudd is Ant-Man

Almost exploded when I found out Marvel hooked in Rudd. It's such an unexpected & great casting choice. I won't lie, I haven't ever been the biggest Ant-Man fan but hearing Rudd was cast sparked my interest times a billion (and subsequently prompted me to start doing more research on the character).

All I can think of in regards to this movie is how I see it becoming a certified smash hit.

Actually, in keeping with the spirit of Mr. Rudd, the title of this thread should be Paul Rudd is adult Eric Cruise in Mac & Me 2. And possibly Scott Lang in Ant Man.

Jason Bateman and Paul Rudd were always my choices for Ant Man. Rudd, like a lot of comedic actors is also a pretty great dramatic actor when he needs to be.

Jason Bateman reminds me of a live-action Jon Arbuckle. Rudd seems more like Dave Seville from Alvin and the Chipmunks. but it's still really good casting.

i like the look but i don't see it working in the movie. the teaser image we got looked really rough; almost as if someone had cobbled it together on the fly. he red parts looked spray painted on.

Thorax: the part of an animal's body between the head and the abdomen.

Anatomically, Rudd's ginormous booty corresponds to an ant's abdomen, I suppose. He's gonna need some hella big pants to cover that thang.

Do you think Ant-man could be the first Marvel movie where the hero doesn't have a shirtless scene? I mean out of Paul Rudd, and Michael Douglas, neither of them seem in superhero shape. And I'm pretty sure no one wants to see Michael Douglas shirtless

i can't think of any reason to include a shirtless scene. they needed one for Stark's reactor implant. they needed one for Steve Rogers' transformation (although they didn't remove his pants for some reason). they needed one for Thor because the appeal of Thor is his body. and Hulk's shirtlessness is a costume. i guess they might include some prison shower scenes or something. :shrugs:

p.s. that reminds me. i was reading an article about 'I Love You Man.' apparently Rudd has a habit of running around naked; inbetween shooting. so he's quite confident for someone without a superheroesque shape.

Also Chris Pratt needed a shirtless scene to show everyone how much weight he lost for the role. Unless Paul Rudd is working out big time, theres really no reason for it, but considering how much he likes to take his clothes off in movies I'm sure there will be one scene just because. If only Black Widow had one of those kind of scenes just because
