Petition: Marsden for Hal Jordan

I'd like to start a serious petition here on the Hype to get Berlanti (or whoever ends up directing the film) to cast Marsden as the lead (Hal Jordan) in the Green Lantern film.

you really didnt need to make a whole thread on a petiton for an actor. You could have put it in the gl casting threads we have here. Plus marsden isnt likely a candidate for the film.

Uh...

My point was to make a specific thread that was to have people list that they want him in the role... so that anyone from the production company could see if there is an interest in having him.

It wasn't to start a debate or to join a debate on another thread.

It's a little late for a petition. It's a pretty good bet that they've already cast the part and are just waiting to make an announcement.

James Marsden?

He's far too permeated in comic book films already having been in both the 'X-Men' Trilogy and 'Superman Returns' to be taken seriously as Green Lantern.

That's like trying to get Rebecca Romijn for Wonder Woman...once someone's been connected to a franchise it's hard enough...it's harder when they're featured in TWO of them.

Get an unknown for GL. Hugh Jackman, Christopher Reeve and (to a degree) Christian Bale have proved quite well that more unknown actors seem to pay off better.

Since my intention for this thread was to create a petition and the only people who've posted here seem to want to debate, I'm going to ask a Mod to just close it.

It's pointless to create a petition using a thread if it's just going to be hijacked.

Do you mean James Marsden? He would be cool in the role, and is a good actor, but yeah, his other roles in SH movies would count against him, especially with him being in SR.

There are better choices but he's the type of actor WB actually wants for GL.

But again, it's too late for a petition.

Let's find out who they've cast.
