Phoenix Fire Bird

It's there. It looks like a faint golden "V" shape in the exploding geyser. If I could figure out how to take pictures on YouTube I'd post it.

I see what you're talking about, but it's not golden.

I doubt we'll see much of it, but it would be wrongnot to include it at all.

I think we'll see it when she really unleashes her powers. Maybe in the scenes at her house and again at Alcatraz. I hope. Simon did say that they were working on the effects down to the wire... Maybe they weren;t done in time for press screenings... Or they are just not revealing all the goodies just yet.

Simon confirmed it.
Here, I pulled this from the Xverse forum:

Since the beginning of this film's production the one thing that has always concerned me was Phoenix and the use , or lack thereof, of her powers as us fans know them to be. In your last post you talked about "the Phoenix Effect at the end". When I read this it sent chills up my spine. Please tell me that the only time we will see Phoenix be Phoenix (firebird) is not going to be in some silly splash shot at the end of the movie to "wow" the audience? No offense, but that's totally lame and kind of reminds me of that low budget FF movie that came out in the mid 90's with Torch's cartoony "flame on" at the end.

*She uses her powers throughout the film. I would say that all of the biggest sequences of the film revolve around her powers. There is a major set-piece in the middle of the film where you will see a stunning evocation of the Phoenix effect.

EW = Entertainment Weekly.

They say that they are still working on it up until the day before it opens?

Im pretty sure they meant thursday as in yesterday

If there's any one point to show the Phoenix bird, it's when Jean first rises, IMO. :mad: Seems like they were supposed to do more with Phoenix effects. Me thinks either they didn't have time to do it, or the screenings weren't the complete final film...at least i hope.

I dont think they are completely finished. We still have a week before it gets to us. I think they also want to keep some things secret until the release... I hope they feel that way.

I don't have AOL on the computer I'm on now. My other comp is getting worked on :(

ultimately they have until Tuesday I think. Again, that article suggests that there could be deviations from the preview press screenings.

Official premiere is the 24th or 25th.

Looks liike Colossus's hair i just as silver as the rest of his body. Bummer. Again, unless that is a last minute fix.

I wanna see the firebird for the first time in its full BIG SCREEN GLORY so I am glad they are not showing everything!! THANK YOU FOX!!! THANK YOU TOM ROTHMAN!!! :D

Just watched the phoenix flames at the end of X2. SO GOOD. Can we imagine how it would look on Jean in her X3 costume, long hair, black eyes, and the flames around her. I don't necessarily need the big bird effect, but the flames ala X2 were perfect!!!!
