The Dark Knight Rises Pick The Best Name For The 2nd Batman Sequel

Gotham City Chronicles had an Interview with the Vampire kinda feel in it. Of course because it is the first book from The Vampire Chronicles. anyway, I would accept this title

To be honest i like none of them i just want something like 'The Dark Knight Returns'

5/10-Good titles for a comic book, but not for a movie as they are too specific and people may not have an f-in clue what the film is!

It's a tough job, Begins was an awful title, and they obviously hit the jackpot with TDK but there are not many good titles to use imo.

Shadow of the Bat gives me that star wars vibe from the game shoadows of the empire... I don't think that is a defining title either

Batman Begins- Obviously chosen because it is an origin story, the beggining of Batman

The Dark Knight- At first glance just an arbitary excuse to use an iconic title. But a double meaning could be that, as Nolan has stated, 'Thing get worse before they get better'. Perhaps this could be a dark time for Batman, who may be struggling to cope with protecting a chaotic Gotham.

Dark Knight Rising- The darkness is now lifting and people of Gotham can see a light, due to Batman's efforts. He is also growing in stature in the opinions of the previously sceptical Gotham citizens, and may be seen in a heroic light, rather than an ambiguous vigilante.


It's a great title i kno, but 'Gotham City' is so arbitary. What the hell is it supposed to mean? Yeah it's the city in which the films take place but so what? Imagine calling a Superman film Metropolis.

First of all Metropolis doesn't have that flare so it would never work as a title... it just doesn't have that vibe... take for example Los Angeles... that would never work as a movie title... and Metropolis is a similar counterpart... now just say they were making a movie about New York City back in the 80's when it was one of the most dangerous cities... a gang movie titled New York City would give you that vibe cause you know what the city was associated with... even Chicago, a real movie title that worked (won best picture no?) because it gave you that vibe... I will admit TDK Rising is the best title I have seen involving TDK "Adjective"... but Gotham City gives you that vibe... when someone says Gotham City you don't just think Batman... you think of the Joker, a city jammed with mobsters and degenerates... you get that Gothic feel (something BB didn't touch on but its still there based on other depictions)... it just shows how the city has evolved over the course of three movies... if they made a movie about New York City and how Mayor Rudy and the police cleaned it up in less than a decade... that title could have worked... when you say Metropolis... you think Superman, Lois, and the Daily Planet... it really doesn't do anything
