Bingo! They do the same in most movie ad campaigns. The assumption is that the general audience doesn't pay attention to who makes the films, but they will remember similar films and think "Gee, I liked that movie, so I might like this one".

I find it very telling about the poster that made that comment as a slam against Michael Bay, and ignored the glaringly obvious fact that they gave Spielberg the same treatment, in the same sentence.

Whos eye is that meant to be in the poster? Last time I checked there was debate about it.

Perhaps they felt the basic GMC SUV was a more rugged choice for a character like Ironhide

Right, because the Army would rather use a GMC over a Hummer because of its "ruggedness." Don't confuse an H2 or an H3 with a real Hummer. A real Hummer could drive through a GMC.

But the GMC truck isn't an army vehicle in the movie:huh:and that pic was a H2

No it was a pointless and inaccurate statement in a losing argument and don't try to be an ass with me

Haven't seen Snatch, huh? Oh well, it was worth a shot.

I simply responded to your statement that a movie team would think a fiberglass POS GMC would make more sense to use for Ironhide than a domestically unstoppable steel beast like the original Hummer, a statement I disagreed with BECAUSE the Army itself uses Hummers as their all-terrain vehicles because they can take the most beating and still run. So, why would a movie team pick a GMC over a Hummer, when they had full support from GM AND the Army for this production. The only thing I can think of is that a GMC would be less conspicuous on the road than a Hummer. But I think people are probably more used to seeing Hummers on the road now anyway, so it's not a really strong argument. The fact is that they just didn't think it through.

You're right i haven't,it was similar to an old fools and horses line though:woot:

More sense than a H2 was my point,do ppl in the US still drive around in the massive H1's ? apart from the army ? i didn't think they did that's why as a regular SUV disguise the GMC truck looks a better choice IMO

STOP AND USE YOUR HEAD
IRON HIDE IS NOT "TAKING CONTROL" OF THE TRUCK
HE IS MORPHING INTO THE LOOK AND SHAPE OF IT
KEEPING HIS ARMOR
SO THE BEST IS NOT ALWAYS THE BEST.

Really? Wow, Mr. Caps Lock, I didn't know that's what Transformers did.

But you're right, it's not More Than Meets The HAND, it's More Than Meets The EYE, and VISUALLY a Hummer is more of a match for Ironhide than a normal truck anyday. I was speaking about appearances, not actual compositions, but I see you missed that.

I still can't get over some of the faces they made for the robots, but hey, at least they included Megan Fox's cleavage in the drawing :D

ironically....i think he draws robotic faces better than he draws human faces...

Actually since Ironhide was a family camper van in G1 a family GMC SUV is a better match than an army hummer

Boiiinng - the US Army does not use 'hummers', they use the HMMWV aka the Humvee. "Hummer" only applies to the civilian vehicles sold under the GM brandname.

In any case the Humvee should be reserved for an updated Hound. Perhaps in the sequel if the movie does well enough to get one.

Going along with what Hunter Rider said, I think the choice of the GMC Topkick is, overall, a pretty good match for Ironhide.

Florida oranges, California oranges, is still an orange.

Wait explain that,it's not a pick up from what ive seen,it's a 4x4 GMC SUV the same as the feds drive and the point made about a Hummer being best suited to Hound as opposed to a more family transporter that was ironhide is spot on

nooo, Ironhide is a truck.. a shortbed pickup truck infact.
Ratchet is the hummer

Yeah, I think that was the first real look we had at any of the bots.
