Florida oranges, California oranges, is still an orange.

That comparison is not accurate in this case.

The 'shell' for the H2 [what Ratchet is] and the H3 may say Hummer but they are built on existing GM truck/SUV platforms. The H2 uses a modified GMT820 platform {the platform is also used for the Chevy Tahoe & GMC Yukon} - meaning it's essentially a large truck. It's nothing to sneeze at mind you as the H2 is still a fairly capable vehicle - it's just not an HMMWV.

The H1 is largely identical to the HMMWV though there are still some differences.

I downloaded the latest wallpapers on my laptop and being how they're large I can't really post them and being how we're not doing anything in class I figured I would discuss it and try to resize the images later.

But, for those who do have the wallpapers I noticed something rather odd Monday that just passed.

Anyone notice the japanese writing on Optimus and Megatron?

Is this japanese? chinese? Or is it a first clue that we might get to see cybertron symbols aka writing?

No one is really sure what language the sybols are. People have looked into them but haven't found anything.

It's thought that they may be Tattoos of some kind or Tribal markings or even just doodles the artists snuck into the posters

I actually like the way most of the faces look now except for Ratchet. His face looks a cross between a chipmunk and a walrus. What's very interesting is the character Brawl who had a smaller role in G1 looks more similar to the way he than over half of the characters.

More sense than a H2 was my point,do ppl in the US still drive around in the massive H1's ? apart from the army ? i didn't think they did that's why as a regular SUV disguise the GMC truck looks a better choice IMO

i like that H2 not only for the fact that it's the correct color for iron hide, but it looks similar to his G1 version, without being a van and maintains a level of ruggedness for the character.
and ratchet...well, he's an ambulance. he's a medic, and the idea that a plain, run of the mill ambulance could be a giant robot is great to me. the fact that it doesn't catch your eye right away makes it a great diguise. remember the tagline, more than meets the eye.

Boiiinng - the US Army does not use 'hummers', they use the HMMWV aka the Humvee. "Hummer" only applies to the civilian vehicles sold under the GM brandname.

In any case the Humvee should be reserved for an updated Hound. Perhaps in the sequel if the movie does well enough to get one.

Going along with what Hunter Rider said, I think the choice of the GMC Topkick is, overall, a pretty good match for Ironhide.

i don't think hound needs an update. the jeep wrangler is still a popular vehicle and fits the character like a glove.

Drool I'd kill for those rims as well, but those were custom made for the Camaro concept. We have yet to see if those will come with the production model.

thats because the rim in the movie isnt really a rim at all. its a hubcap made to look like the concept rim.. hence no caliper on the faux rotor.
infact, thats not even a real camaro, its a pontiac gto (holden manaro) with a camaro shaped shell, all built by saleen. (correct me if im wrong)

but hey.. id love to have some hubcaps like that
hell, i'd take the whole fake camaro

Its starting to grow on me how different the Autobots are from the Decepticons. I kinda like it.

Autobots : Normal "Earthy" curves and objects
Decepticons : Spikes and strange curves , giving it an alien look...
