The Dark Knight Possible Title Change?

I really don't mind it being called Batman: The Dark Knight, it's kind of going along with the rumored Superman sequel title: Superman: The Man of Steel

Scary coincidence - he looks like Sean Penn there and guess who was seen with Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart at the ISA awards recently...

Corret me if I'm wrong, but didn't Sean Penn turn down the Joker? Isn't this the kind of movie he wouldn't touch with ten-foot bargepole (more fool he)?

Supposedly, yes, he did. You're probably right.

I don´t think they´re gonna change the title: the movie´s been on media everywhere cuz of Eckhart´s casting and they keep refering to it as TDK. It could be a mistake, even here on the boards people were calling it Batman: The Dark Knight for a while.

LOL! OMG! I am SO sorry to all you people who believe that Maroni is officially in the movie. Why am I sorry? Well...that's my plot summary.

When I was still a user on IMDB, I wrote and submitted a plot summary that was worded exactly like that, and IMDB put it up. At the time, Maroni was a fresh rumour from BOF, so taking those rumours into consideration, I created the plot summary that appears in that article. Word for word, it is the one I wrote for IMDB and submitted over a year ago.

Once again, I'm very sorry about this, and I really DO hope Maroni is in this movie.

I see they call the Joker a Serial Killer in the synopsis and i hope nolan has gotten Pacino on the phone

There was a rumour going around that Pacino was in talks for a role in TDK, plus Nolan and Pacino have collaborated before on Insomnia.

It would be awesome if Pacino were to be cast as Sal Maroni!

Who is Salvatore Maroni, again?

(I'm new to this area :o)

Wow. Thanks for the heads-up before people start getting too excited.

Heh! Your summary is famous, General.

I likes that description, even though its rather vague.

I almost screamed when I saw it was mine, but all that came out was Joker-like laughter, and a little dance around the room.

Just goes to show you that the internet is more powerful then you really think it is.

Ok, so then what part of that isn't made up?

The movie's probably still officially called 'The Dark Knight'. They might be using 'Batman' for the production of the movie to let companies/casting/city locations etc know that it is Batman that's shooting.

I doubt the title has changed, magazines just do this sort of thing.

Still, if that's the official WB synopsis then I'll be one happy camper...

Man, I hope that synopsis is real, but it looks as though it isn't.......

We definitely need Sal Maroni in there as well as The Joker being a serial killer.

remember the press release FROM warner brothers, not production weekly or whatever this source was. it was just "the dark knight" according to warner.

its more kid friendly and since this film will be alot darker itll help ticket sales.

I hope this is just for the trades to reflect that this is the next 'Batman' movie, and they don't stick Batman in there for no reason . . . it'll pretty goddam evident that this is the net Batman flick once we see the commercials . . .

Basically the whole Gordon, Batman, and Dent alliance to stop The Joker. Like I said, the Sal Maroni part was just me feeding off the rumours at the time.

It's also kinda funny how even though I stated that this "synopsis" was my work, people are acting like "oh god, I hope it's real". Well, it's not. Anything written by some bloak named "General Vulcun" will never be confirmed as real by WB or any other site/magazine/newspaper/etc.
