Whoever plays guitar for Fall Out Boy. Come to think of it, just about all the guitar players from all these new modern mainstream teenybopper rock bands can't play for ****.

Cobain was bad, yeah, but at least he was talented enough in other fields to make up for what he lacked in instrumental skills.

I love C.C., because Poison is a guilty pleasure for me. Truth be told, there one of the few hair bands I like.

I was going to mention, but this thread came up right when I was released from work...

I read this interview with Joe Satriani. He taught both Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett.
So they asked him what he thought of his famous pupils.
He went on and on for paragraphs describing the awe-inspiring genius of Steve Vai, in colorful, poetic terms, expressing a Niagra falls of intense admiration.
Then they said, "How about Kirk?"

And he said, "Well....it's...there's,uh...you know, there are only 12 notes to work with, so...like, everyone's got to...carve out their own, style. And, he's....Kirk's, got his....a style of his...own."

That is malarky.
Neil Young gets paid to play guitar.
He sucks, technically speaking.
Bob Dylan is a millionaire several times over.
He's paid to sing.
Technically he most certainly sucks as a singer.
And there are millions of technically phenomenal, mind-blowing musicians who are unknown simply because fame/fortune is not on their priority list, so they don't pursue it.

Being a "professional musician" does not somehow elevate you to "can't suck" status......unless, you'd like to tell me that Meg White is a good drummer, and Courtney Love is a good singer.
