Power Rangers 3.0

^It's been speculated.

Also since Richard Medina is voicing Juzo speculation is that he's reprising his role as Cole but somewhere down the line he turned evil(Juzo)

If they are indeed casting Medina as the human Deker, they might as use Cole as his former self before he got corrupted, otherwise they should just cast someone else who didn't play any previous ranger in the PR universe.

I can never stop laughing at intro ''KEVIN''- Ahahaha, ohhhh.

So I invested in some Shinkenger mecha that was on clearance at an online store I frequent, and I gotta say, it is so much nicer than the American stuff. I picked up the Ika Origami which has not debuted on Samurai yet, and the Kabuto(Bettle) Origami, and it is at least twice as big, if not bigger, than the American Zord version. Really like they actually incorporate the discs for the Shinkenger swords into the toys for use with the roleplay weapons in Japan. At what point did they stop importing the Japanese version to America, cause I believe my MMPR Megazord original matches the original Zyuranger mecha, but I could be wrong. Really wish I could find a Shinken-Oh under $150, but gonna try and collect Tora and Swordfish Origami's to the make the flying second Mecha from Shinkenger/Samurai.

Bandai of America was good up till 2000.

Then they turned on **** like the Overdrive megazord and everyone jumped ship to Bandai of Japan

On the right is the better Japan version daibouken.

Actually that's interesting since the American version of the Overdrive MEgazord was bigger than the Japanese one. I've really been eyeing Shinken-Oh now though, as the American version is really inaccurate and again, apparently is bigger than the American version.

The main pieces of merch I will buy are the Figuarts Shinkenger. Hope to see some good stuff in a few months at AX 2011.

I'm definitely intrigued by the Juzo character and his material was actually well written in the episode.

I get that this is a kids show but all the rhyming monsters and Rangers finishing all their sentences and phrases gets a little tiresome.

I'd love to have gotten Shinken-Oh, but the high price that it commands on the web forced to buy the Samurai Megazord instead. I still hate the fact that the zords do not have an emblem mode like the origamis do.

I think PR Samurai went a bit overboard with all the puns and cheesy dialogues during combat, not to mention all the silly Bulk & Spike scenes that are unrelated to the rangers.

People who haven't seen Power Ranger's in 15 years or know about Sentai comment on the "Legend War" from Gokaiger

I just love the comments.

The guy on the right side of the frame at 0:32 almost looks like he has a pot leaf shaped visor on his mask. Almost.
Also: Gay Pride Ranger at 0:45. And Charlie Brown Ranger at 1:02

So much they've missed out on. I'm surprised there wasn't a comment about the pink ranger being the hottest.

:whatever:

It had so much potential to be one of the more mature Power Rangers series but it just seems like a retooled MMPR with different rangers and zords. I really can't remember a Power Rangers series being so cheesy since MMPR.

Yeah. Saban leaned too much on the MMPR nostalgia trend for PRS -- and the show suffers because of that. The actors are terrible, and the scripts a direct lift from the Sentai show. I've rewatched MMPR, and none of the episodes have as much cheesy quips and insults as PRS does in a single episode. I've been hoping that Saban gets a clue and let the writers do more with the series, but nothing yet.

I've rewatched PRMF and RPM recently. So much better without Saban's involvement. MF is a guilty pleasure for me and despite the explosions and plot holes -- MF had some memorable characters and strayed from the Sentai source enough to be its own show.

Wow, this new 'Samurai' version is bad, really bad. I mean like, this show really stinks, I don't remember the last time I watched something so ****. The acting is painfully bad, the fight choreography is terrible, the writing plain sucks and the mix of old and new effects is just bad mainly because the 'new' effects (CGI and stuff) probably look worse than the old style nostalgia effects. Couldn't make it through the first episode. Looked to be really cool, as well.

Was Power Rangers always this hammy? Or is it just this new version? A part of me wants to go back and watch the old versions, but I don't want to ruin one of my favourite childhood shows, if it really is just like this drivel.

Yeah its never been this bad. Something just isnt right with Samurai, its not just one thing, its a mixture of several things. But yeah a positive for the show is that the intro is pretty good. The casting is just horrible, im sorry but none of them can act, the lines are always horrible, the green ranger looks fruity (and sounds it), the red ranger looks like he's on drugs and has justin beibers hairstyle. The only ranger i like is the yellow mainly because she's adorable. This series isnt doing it for me or a lot of people for that matter so i hope that they only make this series one season. I've heard this before but i'll say it again this series so far just feels like a test run for Saban, just to get a feel for power rangers again. Just go onto goseiger, and then gokaiger which is the sentai series a lot of people are waiting for.

Yeah the green ranger must be gay! Look at those earrings! LOL. I was thinking that through the whole episode and I have nothing against homosexuals but goddamn that guy is hilariously camp.

No, it wasn't. MMPR s1 has aged really badly, but it's much more watchable than PRS is. MMPR s2 is bad, but enjoyable enough. MMPR s3 has some really good character arcs (especially Kimberly), and I enjoyed revisiting that season.

If you want to check out some genuinely good PR seasons, I highly recommend PRiS and RPM. The acting is pretty decent, both have good characters and story arcs, and it has some good original fight footage. They're both up on YouTube if you want to check them out. The other seasons, like the other earlier Saban-era seasons and the Disney ones, just depends on what you like. But PRiS and RPM I recommend wholeheartedly -- they wash the bad taste of PRS out of my mouth.

I know of RPM, I've heard it was the best of Disney's Power Rangers but what is PRiS? Sorry if that is noobish or whatever.

Power Rangers IN SPAAAAAAAAACE :word::word::word:
It's the culmination of the first 6 seasons worth of story, plus has some of the best writing they ever had up to that point. Tends to happen when a season looks to be the last.

Besides RPM, Time Force is another great standalone season with great writing and even great performances.

Oh wow, I remember both Time Force and In Space from when I was a kid! I think Time Force used to be my favourite version, if I remember correctly.

I think those series have aged okay. "Grandma Matchmaker" is really awful, though.

So check out RPM now. You haven't seen it, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with it.

Yeah I was deffo planning on tracking RPM down first. Then I wanted to rewatch Time Force for the nostalgia.

"Time Force" and "Wild Force" came at a time when the writers just decided to go with the Sentai storyline but alter it in slight ways.

Time force

-Jen had a relationship with her commander

Timeranger

-Tatsuya was a descendant of Timeranger's commander

Timeforce

-Wes was a descent of Jen's boyfriend

Here's a good website listing some differences and similarities

Wildforce/Gaoranger

Is Wildforce any good? I think I watched it when I was a kid. Don't remember much about it.

It was pretty bad. "Forever Red" and "Reinforcements from the Future" were pretty good, though. Erin Cahill (Jen) absolutely rocks a Terminator-style outfit and braided hair in the latter.

"Gay Pride Ranger"? I'm assuming that he's referring to The Big One since he has rainbow in his helmet and suit. This is a bunch of ignorant people who knew nothing about Super Sentai.

Guess I'll give that one a miss then. Can I watch those specific episodes without watching the rest of the series or will they make no sense?
