So does anyone else thinks "Power Rangers" deserves its own thread now? Also does any one want to speculate or come up with story ideas for the supposedly trilogy (if it happens?
1. I think the suits should look "alien/armor-esque" since they hail from Eltar. Reason why it creates mystery for the citizens of Angel Grove, are they humans or "aliens" from another planet? Loose the power blaster, have laser's built into it and upgrade the Power Weapons.
2. Give the Power Rangers actual powers!!! Not like in the Disney era they had civilian powers, lame, but they morph not only do they gain enhanced endurance (able to jump higher, run faster, strength) but add elemental powers; fire, water, lightning, etc just like in the SNES game from the 90s. it'll make the team really seem powerful and a threat.
3. I like how in the original film each suit served a diff purpose so they should add that back, keep Red/tracking, Yellow/power beam, Blue/pinpoint weak spots & calculations, Pink/flight and Black/camouflage.
4. Zordon/Alpha should briefly explain how the power coins bind to their DNA and that's how they'll gain the super endurance also if their coin is destroyed they will also be.
5. The Dino Mecha-zord should be bad ass! Since CGI has come a long way the zords should look hell a pre-historic and the T-Rex should be the biggest and have the ability to transform in a robot ala the red thunderzord from s2. It should also have the ability to fly and be in sync w/the rangers power's able to perform multiple elemental attacks.
Background:
It should be explained how the powers were created on Eltar by the United Alliance of Good, a peace keeping organization (like the Green Lantern core) Zordon, Zedd (brothers), Rita (Zordon's wife) were members.
Zedd seduced by the dark side aka Rita defected and started the United Alliance of Evil consisting of sorceress Rita, warriors Goldar & Scorpina
Zordon chose 4 warriors while he became the Red ranger.
War ravaged on Eltar destroying the planet and in the final fight, 3 warriors lost their lives while both brothers were both imprisoned. With Rita's help Lord Zedd trapped Zordon in a time warp and Zordon sealed Zedd and his evil minions away and hurled them into outer space unbeknownst that their dumpster would crash land on earth's moon. With Eltar decimate Zordon set his sights on Earth a planet that he often admired for its beauty and established a command center their just in case if evil should arise.
Present/Plot:
When NASA sends a team of explorers to the moon they accidentally free Zedd (who know has a red grosteuqe appearance) and his minions, killing the crew he then reforms parts of the moon into his own castle. Zedd invades our planet, but the military is able to hold off his attacks from all parts of the Earth. Zedd begins to look for the Zeo crystal a source so powerful that will unlock the "other side" and unleash the Dark Spectar onto Earth and bond with its malevolent power. Fearing Zedd will do to Earth like he did their home planet, Zordon chooses 5 teens from different walks of life to become "the warriors 5"(the term "Power Rangers" would be giving to them by the citizens of Angel Grove). Eventually the team would have to put their differences aside to work together to stop Lord Zedd.

Rangers:
Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger (17): following in his father's footsteps Jason is determined to be a karate master. He is head strong, all American jock with good looks, leadership material, but lacks discipline and has poor judgment this often puts him at odds with his dad and fellow rangers. Can Jason grow up in time to be the leader that team needs?
Kimberly Ann Hart/Pink Ranger (17): Rich girl with a mean girl attitude to match. Kim only cares about 3 things; herself, herself and shopping. She is the star athlete in gymnastics at Angel Grove High, is involved in cheer leading, sucks at archery(which puts her at odds with her Power Bow) and she lives to make Billy's life a living Hell. As Pink ranger she must learn to care for a team and not just herself.
Zachary "Zack" Taylor/Black Ranger (17): is a pure ladies man! Captain of the football & basketball team he knows he has what it takes to lead any team or so he thinks. Him and Jason are odds with who should be leader of the Power Rangers, but Zack must learn that their is no "I" in team.
Trini Kwan/Yellow Ranger (17.5): foreign exchange student from Vietnam Trini has had a hard upbringing, but comes from loving family and she is very humble from her struggles as well as her accomplishments. She is often poised, intellectual, quiet which puts her at odds w/Kim who she thinks is nothing but a rich spoiled brat. She has hard enough time adjusting to American life can she also adjust to being a superhero?
Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger (16.5): the youngest and smartest of the heroes. Billy is a child genius excelling in every subject but secretly longs for friends or just to be "normal". He often hangs around the school bullies Bulk and Skull who he thinks are his friends who actually just uses him to do their homework. Billy eventually befriends Trini and the two become great friends however Billy is not a lover or a fighter and can possibly jeopardize the team if he doesn't learn to fight.
Hopefully cameos by the original cast as teachers, citizens, & parents of the rangers
expanding on the plot and some villains:
The Zeo crystal is what sustained Eltar, its power can be used for good or evil due to whoever possess it.
Zedd has always envied Zordon and has his own agenda for Eltar
Rita is just power hungry and uses Zedd for own personal gain wanting the power of the Dark Specter for herself
Zordan always knew that Zedd would eventually betray him and that's when he took a shard of the zeo crystal and made the power coins.
The other 4 crystals are scattered on earth and transformed/resides into objects on earth. it is up to the rangers to find the missing 4 sub crystals before Lord Zedd does.
Rita plays on Jason's doubts/fear as leader and uses him to bring her the other 2 crystals. In a twist it is revealed that Jason's dad (hopefully played by Austin St John) is a carrier of the Zeo crystal also that the rangers' themselves are the final key to unleashing the Dark Spectar since their powers comes from the crystal something Zordan neglected to tell them and that this time DS will be able to crossover since all 5 zeo crystals are together the first attempt Rita used dark magic to unleash DS. In the end their is a huge mecha-zord battle with Zedd/Spector the team unites and thats the end of MMPR.....
just my idea...it ties in all 3 seasons minus a few things, I got rid some of the camp and tried to up the stakes....

I actually want Michael Bay to direct this movie. He'd be great for Power Rangers, with all the explosions
