Jack DID learn things, like how to be a good leader. And he's the only Red Ranger to willingly walk away so that he could....wait for it....help people without being a Ranger! Everyone else either lost their powers or there was no need to be Rangers anymore. He broke the trend.

And no, he is not the worst Red Ranger. That goes to the Pinnochio robot in Operation Overdrive!

Jack was NOT a good leader, and he did NOT leave S.P.D. for noble reasons; he walked away for a PRETTY GIRL, and didn't have the courtesy to discuss it with Cruger beforehand.

There were slight signs of improvement in his character, but they were largely 'one-offs' and he ultimately ended up reverting to acting like a supreme *****ebag.

As far as Mack goes, he's INFINITELY better than Jack because he's A) actually likeable and B) was in fact a good leader, both before and during his 'identity crisis'.

It always annoyed me when they had the newcomer come in and take over leadership of the team. Severely played out.

^ In Overdrive, Mack's 'newbie' status really didn't matter, but, yes, I can see why the trope might've gotten old for some people (although it personally didn't bother me).

In Jack's first scene he literally gives the shirt off his back to an old alien woman.And at the end of the season he goes back to helping people like he did in the beginning.He also allowed Sky to become the Red Ranger to avenge his father.Was willing to sacrifice himself to destroy an asteroid .Plus he had to deal with Doggie who was a jerk for the most part.

That "pretty girl" that you say he left for, did the exact same work he did before he was a Ranger. He was reminded of why he liked doing that and choose to leave.

And speaking of Skye, Jack leaving allowed Skye to show his full growth and EARN his place as Red Ranger. If Jack was who you say he was, he wouldn't have left at all and enjoyed being Red Ranger til the end of his days!

I believe the title of worst Red Ranger goes to Troy:

He is the most incredibly bland and underdeveloped Ranger in Megaforce so far. I swear he only has one facial expression in the whole show.

Sky was already more than qualified to be Red; the reason he wasn't is because Cruger wanted him to learn how to NOT be Red.

As far as Troy goes, I disagree that he's bland.

I think it's more the fault of the writers than Andrew Gray. I've already said that there should be some big reveal involving Troy. The whole thing started with his premonition of the legendary war and then no story development on that subplot whatsoever!

maybe, but we only show one emotion for the whole show you get boring. It's fine to be the guy who keeps his cool, but when you keep your cool all the time? It gets old And you're right, the premonition thing hasn't gotten any story time outside of when Robo Knight first appeared.

As for Skye, he had qualities to be a good Red Ranger, but he lacked the qualities to be a great Red Ranger AND a Ranger in general. He needed to learn to respect his other teammates as more than just other teammates. He also needed to learn that being the Blue Ranger was just as important as being the Red Ranger.

So it's likely that'll be the name of the second season, but it might not.

Even if it bothers people, Samurai and Dino Charge are seasons where it actually makes sense to add in the 'Super' designator for their second halves.

The two "Legendary Rangers" I'm looking forward too seeing the most are Tommy Oliver and Karone. Tommy's my second favorite Ranger of all time, second only too Jason Lee Scott. {The original Red Ranger.} As far as Karone goes, I'll be honest, she's one of the best and most compelling characters in PR history. Not to mention Melody Perkins is one of the most beautiful woman to ever appear on PR, and she still looks amazing.

BTW I still wish one of the four remaining original MMPR was appearing in the legends war.

Let's also not forget that in "Spirit of the Tiger" he was pretty much a d*ck and very un-leader like towards his team telling them to hold their weapons rather than try out new ideas Noah was suggesting. But I suppose they needed a way to work in that Sentai footage. *sighs*

Gotta give the girls something. Us guys get a "nicely-casted" Pink and Yellow Ranger most of the time. Plus, Troy wasn't the only Red Ranger to go shirtless like Leo from PRLG for example.
