Power Rangers 4.0 - Part 1

Reimagining and rebooting MMPR in a movie really gives it the freedom really play with the interesting elements of PR. I think the iconic things should remain: Zordon stuck in a time warp (maybe not as a head this time/ full body), Alpha 5, Command Center, Angel Grove, the Juice Bar...little things like that.

As far as the villains go...I say take the best of the Alliance of Evil and create a new assemble for the Rangers to deal with (throughout the trilogy if the first movie is successful). You have your overlord type (Zedd, Scorpious, Lothor), witch type (Rita, Hexuba), first-in-command (Goldar, Ecliptor), henchwoman (Scorpina, Astronema), comedy relief (Babu & Squatt, Elgar) and of course foot soldiers, which there could be more than one.

I definitely think a MMPR movie trilogy would benefit being based off MMPR eps: Day of the Dumpster, Green With Evil and Doomsday.

I actually want Michael Bay to direct this movie. He'd be great for Power Rangers, with all the explosions

Absolutely NOT!!!

I remember watching a video on youtube talking about how Michael Bay might actually be good for Power Rangers. There were some valid points like the level of action, tone(of the first Transformers only!), casting the Pink and Yellow Rangers, but ultimately he's better off doing/rebooting G.I. Joe. If he was slated to direct, you'd better have a good screenwriter and other people like Executive Producers etc who'll say no when Bay gets out of control and would keep him on a tight leash and release him when appropriate like the action that should be placed into the Zord battles.

I say to find a director that would respect the source material of Power Rangers/Super Sentai and really get the tone right is extremely difficult.

But now that Marvel lost Edgar Wright

He is so perfect for this is not even funny

How is Astronema a henchwoman? She was the main villain in Space! She almost took over the Earth!

Except Saban Brands wil be calling shots regarding who'll direct the film as opposed to Lionsgate themselves. A big difference from 19 years early

I think the fandom pretends they did.

I think the movie needs to distance itself away from the TV Show a little bit. I want Zordon to be a full hologram that can roam around the command center.(kinda like Jor-El in Man Of Steel) I really don't care for the floating head. The Command Center should look more "alien" like....if that makes any sense. I also wouldn't mind if the show wasn't centered around Angel Grove...but the entire world. It would just seem stupid for someone that wants to take over Earth attacking just one city.

That's why I hope that all the Rangers are from different parts of the world and don't know each other.

She was taking orders from Dark Specter.

Werent they all though? She was still in charge of her own army and one of the few villains to come in contact with the PR more than once. You don't make the Princess of all Evil into a henchwoman.

I know...I put her there because I'd like to see her in the movieverse...if by chance she did make it, they'd probably make her a henchwoman.

Exactly, AND remember that she betrayed Dark Specter, she made the Psycho Rangers out of his life energy without telling him. It was only luck that he survived once they all died. And he eventually did die which lead to Astronema truly becoming the ultimate big bad in the galaxy.

The final final final nail in the coffin for Saturday morning cartoons.

Vortexx lineup is ending

http://news.tokunation.com/2014/05/30/saban-brands-vortexx-programming-block-end-fall-18098

Can't say I'm surprised. It was basically a resting place for reruns of justice legacy unlimited and spectacular spider man

Spiderman and Justice league have already rerun every episode about 3 time over now since starting on vortexx. Same deal with everything else.

Sonic has been replayed so much since it started, I've lost count.

On the power ranger side it was supposed to be where you could watch every season except the new ones

I'm just amazed kidsWB / CW for kids/ Vortexx survived this long

It surpassed even fox kids

Truly the end of the Saturday morning cartoon routine as some of us know it

(At least the original way)

Now it's netflix or Cartoon Network

I wish we could get a fresh saturday morning lineup for TheCW. Then they could stop giving CN DC shows.

So I'm more then half way through my complete Power Rangers first time watch through.Just finished SPD and started Mystic Force. I thought SPD was going to bed lame but it ended up being amazing.Bridge and Doggie were some of the best character's they have had yet.I really liked Ninja storm and Wild force.Dino Thunder was a bit of a let down. Not enough Tommy.

SPD was my favorite season post the MMPR era. Yes Bridge was awesome. I really loved the premise behind it. I only wish they had done more with the Omega ranger

The first half of SPD was REALLY good, the 2nd half was ok. The villain didn't live up to the hype by the end of the season.

Mystic Force is so much better than S.P.D. that it's not even funny.

S.P.D. is BY FAR the single worst season in the franchise (yes, it's worse than Operation Overdrive, which is actually better than people give it credit for being).

Yeah and the last episode had the Nova Ranger that only showed up once. She looked awesome.

Explain yourself!

S.P.D. is atrociously paced (which is weird given that none of Kalish's other seasons have the same problems) and Jack is the single-worst Red Ranger (and second-worst Ranger character overall) we have ever gotten; he's a supreme *****ebag who doesn't learn a damn thing at all.

There are certain things I like about S.P.D., but the pacing and Jack ruin everything that is actually interesting and good about the season.

Wow...you couldn't be more wrong. Jack DID learn things, like how to be a good leader. And he's the only Red Ranger to willingly walk away so that he could....wait for it....help people without being a Ranger! Everyone else either lost their powers or there was no need to be Rangers anymore. He broke the trend!

And no, he is not the worst Red Ranger. That goes to the Pinnochio robot in Operation Overdrive!
