If only Samuari was good. Couldnt get through the first episode.

I would suggest trying out gokaiger episode 1 or go-busters episode 1

Sure samurai isn't the best. But there has been a bunch of good episodes.

So is all this Gokaiger/Saban productions news confirmed? If so, im glad to hear about Saban skipping Goseiger and going straight to Gokaiger, that's what i was hoping they'd do for a while now. Hopefully they can get some veterans from MMPR to PPIS as well, i havent seen Amy since Turbo the Movie, come cast members from In Space could use some time, that was a good cast. I've noticed that Jason Frank really cleaned up his look (he doesn't have a ridiculous goatee anymore, he has a clean haircut, so idk maybe that means he's preparing for filming (War scenes??) Who knows who'll come back, but considering the legendary war is HUGE and to me should be built up and be a 2 part episode, its essential to bring back core Power Rangers alumni. Oh and im dying to see Alpha come back as well as the original voice actor for Alpha. The next series starts off on a very powerful, emotional, and impactful level so it needs to be done properly

DCNightwing23, I think it was already reported that TOEI I believe shot an exclusive "war scene" that would be used later in Power Rangers where Gokaiger is concerned. The Power Rangers franchise use some of the same stunt team and physical suit actors as Japan I think.

Samurai isn't great, but I'm not going in expecting like . . . Game of Thrones. Jayden's actually shown he has a sense of humor this season and I like that.

Thanks for that clarification, i guess that means they are really getting ready for Gokaiger here in the US. Hopefully they build up to the actual war fights, etc rather than it being rushed.

Also i wonder if Disney let Saban use their Power Rangers series' (Jungle Fury to Rpm)

No there hasn't.

There hasn't been one good episode start to finish without something cringeworthy in it.

Samurai is the worst PR season ever produced.

I've seen all of the Ranger series up to about SPD, then I only saw maybe an episode or 2 of the rest.

1) How is it possible that Zord battles look WORSE than they did 19 years ago when the series debuted?

2) How come the regular rangers don't fight anymore? Back in the original series, the original five were some of the greatest fighters I've seen from any medium, partly because Tommy, Trini, and Jason were already seasoned martial artists. Can't they get martial artists to play the roles of these rangers? Hell, those Martial Artists would have infinitely more personality, which leads me to my next question:

3) How come the new power rangers don't have personality whatsoever? Zack, Kim, Tommy, Jason, they all had mad flavor, not one ranger these days has any swag.

4) Why can't they get Ron Wasserman to record some fight songs?

5) Why is their such a huge focus on expensive special effects, when getting real obscure martial artists like they did in the original series would be cheaper and more visually pleasing.

6) Why does the Red Ranger look like a little emo *****? This is their leader? Back in the day Jason was basically a goddamn bodybuilder who also did martial arts, dude was bulk.

7) Is it me or did they make the Black guy as least Black as they could make him?

I just feel like with the same budget anybody who put a shred of actual effort into it could make a good Power Rangers series like the original. The decisions that are coming from the people upstairs are unbelievably dimwitted. Like words cannot describe how dumb the executives making the decisions on this show must be.

Fact: The moment Power Rangers stopped focusing on fighting and started focusing on flashy ADHD special effects, it went down the tube big time.

All they have to do is move the show away from this stupid ass Samurai school setting, and bring it back to ACTUAL people going to school who were Power Rangers, and have a couple of them compete in kick ass martial arts tournaments. Suddenly the show gets so much better, and its such a simple transition.

Words can't even say what I feel about this. Its such an easy thing to do. You seriously have to be the biggest screw up in the world to mess up a Power Ranger series.

/end rant

I read this topic and I would just like to call out Webhead for enabling the piece of **** that is Power Rangers Samurai. Anybody who supports that show is an enabler for the creation of turd. I lol'd when Webhead was going "well the acting is a little better", lol yeah I don't think its worth noting that piss is better than crap.

Samurai isn't great,but I'll take it over Mystic Force,Jungle Fury,or Operation Overdrive.

I saw the GoKaiger series and it's good. The fights in that show are sick. It makes sense to have GoKaiger as the next series after Samurai given that the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers will be next year. I also can't wait for MMPR to be on DVD's this summer.

If you guys haven't seen the new Super Sentai series the Go-Busters, you should check out the first episode at the very least. I love Gokaiger, but Go-Busters is seriously giving that series a run for its money, which is no small feat given the epic scope that Gokaiger had. Go-Busters is just a fantastic series and it's only getting better with each passing week.

Monster fights/zord fights are dicated from sentai footage. And if it isn't good in the sentai it probably be bad in pr counter part. As for actors its all what the casting directors are lookking for. And what type of background actors testing have. Some are fresh with no acting, some are models, some are singers, some have some martial arts background. Then it also counts what type of show/theme it has for fighting style we will see rangers have. As for shinken/samurai they are sword fighters more so even the few samurai actors with some martial arts background have nothing to show off.

As for seeing old school guys. We will see come the gokaiger adaptation. As to who returns. That is a big wonder there. There is plently who like to return. And some who for sure won't return. But we don't need every single living ranger actor to appear in the show unmorphed. At the least we just need 18 rangers, 15 to cover all different series, and the core ns three rangers. Then like gokaiger did maybbe sprinkle in a couple more for a tiny showup.

I dont mean to continue the bashing on PR, but i miss the good old days where the rangers had to keep their identities a secret, i thought it was better that way for some reason.

As for Go-Busters, what's the premise of that series exactly? I've been seeing pictures, and what not but i never got around to what its about, and how is it better than gokaiger?

Basic wiki entry

Thirteen years ago in the New Common Era (新西暦 Shinseireki?) calendar, the computer controlling the newly discovered energy source called Enetron (エネトロン Enetoron?) was infected by a virus that caused it to create the evil energy being known as Messiah who wishes to take over mankind and create a world made for machines. Though sent into subspace, Messiah's actions established the formation of the Energy Management Center's Special Ops Unit from three children who were caught in the crossfire, the Go-Busters. In the year 2012 NC, the present day, Messiah's underlings, called Vaglass, attempt further incursions to gather enough Enetron to bring their master back. However, training for this day, the Go-Busters and their Buddy Roids are deployed to combat Vaglass's Metaloids and Megazords to protect the city's Enetron from them.[4]

What's making go busters so engaging is that this series is applying logic to things we normally gloss over in power rangers/Sentai

-Forming the core megazord is actually a hindrance due to energy consumption

-real time morphs and battles

-less stock footage

-conflict between the top commander who will easily sacrifice the rangers to accomplish the organizations goals

-mecha specifics like diverting power to the arms and legs and cutting off power in the cockpit

This season is basically the season for specifics and logic.

I suggest checking out at episode 1 on tvnihon.com

Re: Premise. Check out GS's post.

The three Go-Busters members were children at the EMC's HQ 13 years ago when they were attacked by Messiah and his minions, and Hiromu/Red Buster's father, who was the head scientist at the facility, teleported the entire compound (along with Messiah) into subspace in order to protect the humanity, but all three children were downloaded with a program that allowed them to teleport out with their Buddyroids. The children grew up with a special superhuman ability courtesy of the program, but each also got a weakness inherent with it. Now they are Go-Busters based at the EMC with the mission to defend Enetron and the world against Messiah's agent Enter, and the hordes of Metaloids and Megazords.

I'm not going to say that Go-Busters is better than Gokaiger, because Gokaiger is a fantastic anniversary series that really paid homage to the past 34 sentai teams, but I'm liking it more than Gokaiger already. Go-Busters deliberately tried to be different than Gokaiger by emphasizing on realism, logics, and naturistic settings. The mech battles are the best I've ever seen, because they are done with some of the best miniature cityscape in Super Sentai, and the monsters don't grow big after they are destroyed; the Go-Busters have to deal with both Metaloid (the humanoid version) and the Megazord (the giant robot counterpart) at the same time, albeit the Megazord is teleported minutes after Metaloid's debut.

It's only six episodes in, but I'd say that it matches well against any other Super Sentai I've seen, including Gokaiger, and you should definitely check it out.

With what been shown so far. To me I feel the pr counterpart once we get to it would probably be a mix of lightspeed/spd/timeforce. With government/private found group and probably open identities and what not.

The reason for this, I feel, is that Gokaiger's main draw was nostalgia (specifically the return of past Sentai costumes) while the actual characters, villains and plot themselves being less interesting.

Also i wonder if Disney let Saban use their Power Rangers series' (Jungle Fury to Rpm)

When Saban re-acquired the franchise two years ago, that included the video library of all 700 episodes (including all the Disney seasons).

Plus, Nicktoons had a JF marathon a few months back, then put it on the schedule. Then they did the same for DT.

Samurai isn't great,but I'll take it over Mystic Force,Jungle Fury,or Operation Overdrive.

Mystic Force had Koragg and other great villians. Imperious was my favorite.

Jungle Fury had RJ and the masters.

Overdrive had a few great episodes; "Face to Face," "Man of Mercury," "Home and Away," "Both Sides Now,"

And even Overdrive's weak filler episodes had better fight sequences than anything Samurai has offered.

Samurai hasn't had one good episode start to finish. It sucks at everything.

Go-Busters...I'm really feeling a PR meets James Bond theme for this series...government Rangers trying to stop intergalactic spies from helping a mysterious character harness some devastating weapon or energy source...

I think I'd like this series set somewhere else though....like KO-35 or another human populated planet...

I don't see why it is necessary to set it in other, non-Earth planet, actually.

King Madness, you don't need to be a jerk if people want to watch or enjoy the show. Power Rangers has not and never will be GoT. Even Super Sentai for that matter.

I still don't think samurai has been all crap there has been a bunch of episodes I thought where good, and I know others on other board have said too. Like here goes the brides, for one and some of the deker episodes. The reason though too for samurai issues was a rushed production, and they didn't have good pick of actors due to casting problems. So sure its not one of the best series. But who's to say next ones won't be good. Just look at how pr was at start and then we got series down the road like in space, time force and others. Also I made this point too haim, tazhor, its been yrs since they worked on the show. So it takes time to get back into it. And look they taken more time for next series, let's see if they can fix issues samurai had with the next one.
